This is absolutely the worst auto service center I have ever been to. We waited 4 hours for the Firestone to diagnose and fix why the blower of my car (Honda Civic) was not working. Seemed like a simple wiring or a fuse issue. First they said they will charge $39.99 to diagnose, after that they said they will charge $105.00 on top of $39.99 to do a detail diagnosis. After a detail diagnosis they told me that a control unit was not working. They said they cannot replace it unless I leave the car behind. I asked them to return my car since I had already waited 3 hrs for their "diagnosis". At the last minute, they told me that its not the control unit but the Blower Resistor which was the cause of the problem and they can easily replace it. They also said that since I had to go through so much inconvenience, they will not charge for the $105.00 for detail diagnosis. Now, a Blower Resistor costs about $60.00 at an Auto Zone, they actually charged me $118.05 for that and that too was not even a original company part. As it turns out, the manager here is so smart that he performed accounting gimmicks to show that how much discount he was giving me and billed the discount shown to the cost of the part instead. Not to mention all the screw driver marks they made on my dashboard to take out the A/C while doing their "deatil diagnosis". The way they took out the A/C unit looked like a work of an amateur. If you do not want to get ripped off and get a bad service, please do not go to this store.

My car always seems to come out of here worse than I left it. Two instances in particular stand out: Several years ago I went to get a routine oil change. Upon leaving, I lost a bunch of protective plates off the bottom of my car on the highway. Im convinced this happened because they did not properly secure the panels underneath the car after working on it. They offered me a free oil change as compensation, but I stopped going to them for a few years. Fast forward to this week, another routine oil change. This time, I manage to see an oil fluid leak almost immediately after leaving. This may be their fault, it may not be their fault, but I think the two instances are too close together to be coincidence. Either way, they wanted more than $800 to fix it. I took it to a dealer for a second opinion, who fixed it for less than $250. It doesnt seem like they do a good job, theyre not reliable, theyre not reasonable on price, and I seem to always run into problems with them. Definitely avoiding this shop at all costs in the future.

What snakes!! DO NOT TRUST & always get a 2nd opinion, its free!! Brought my flat tire in, already was advised exactly what I needed (thankfully) from road side assistance. I left my tire with them to patch and 2 hrs later they called me informing me I needed a new tire. All I had was a perfectly punctured hole.. They gave me some scientific BS talking about the inside lining would blow up in the near future had I not purchased a new tired. (HA) What a joke, I new something wast right, so I told them I wanted a second opinion. I picked my tire back up, spoke to a highly confident speaking SALESMAN almost having me fooled, looking to charge me $361 for the tire, waste cost, IL fees and taxes. Then drove right down the street to NTB, who in-turn, patched me up for $30 and sent me on my way. I held off from this review to secure knowing my tire lining wasnt effected and wouldnt blow up. Were months down the line and for $231 LESS, my car is "on the road again". DONT GO HERE- Theyre a waste of your time!

The manager Pete was EXTREMELY HELPFUL and PATIENT WITH ME, Im disabled, have heart issues, and MS< and he was very respectful, helped me when I had to cancel multiple appointments, wasnt a jerk about it, got me good price, he deserves to get a raise immediately.... if more places had people like him and his crew America wouldnt be a retail failing country today that it is... Americans who spoke ENGLISH, thats always a plus, just a good overall experience, which, with car places, IS NON EXISTENT in this country.. I know, Ive owned 20 cars in my 53 years of life.. I wasnt disabled all my life. SO I know good from Bad. AGAIN PETE WAS above and beyond a great person to deal with thank you.. Give him a raise. You dont wanna lose people like that. They dont exist anymore in the auto industry at any level, at least around what I now call after 35 years of being here CHICONGO.. Although this location of course in Arlington Hgts a couple feet from Buffalo Grove High.

To start, my car works. I had a problem with my car (Misfiring, problems with acceleration). I brought it here, knowing that Firestone as a whole is good. Well, they quoted me $558. When it got to the end, $858. No extra repairs, they claim they said 858 even though I confirmed the amount over the phone. May just be a simple misunderstanding. The real problem is, I asked for my old parts back. They gave me the ignition coil they replaced. My car is a Ford, they gave me one for a volvo. Not a simple mistake, its double the size of mine. Along with ignition wires and couldnt find the spark plugs. All parts, not mine. Makes you wonder if they even replaced anything. So they randomly handed me stuff from whatever car. My car runs well now so no complaints there, but Id suggest the other Firestone in Palatine I believe. Heard good stuff from there, plus its open an extra hour.

Ive had three or four visits to this location in which something has struck me as being not quite right. I was told that I had a transmission housing leak three oil changes ago. I didnt get it fixed before the next time I went back for an oil change, and it wasnt mentioned again. Nor was it mentioned the last time I went in for an oil change. The next time I brought it in for oil they told me it would be 45 minutes. 2 hours later I called in myself because they hadnt called me yet. It still took another hour. This last time they told me 45 mins again, and I called them 3 hours later. Apparently they just forgot to call me when it was done. I havent had problems like this when I lived in Wisconsin and took my car to Firestone. Must be something with this particular store. Stay away from these guys!

i needed to use a lift just to be able to see where something was that i couldnt find underneath my car. i called and spoke with Kaiko (WHO WAS FRICKEN SUPER NICE). He said that i could come in and they would put it on a lift for me show me where the part was and talk to me about how i could replace it. i came in about 5 minutes later Jordan brought my car in and brought me in after about 10 min where he preceded to show me where the part was and what it was that i needed to do to replace said part. He also walked around the car with me and pointed out some other stuff that needed to be done. They didnt charge me a dime and were EXTREMELY helpful and AMAZINGLY nice. I will definitely be going back!!!!!!
