Below you can read my post from earlier today. I just got home from Precision, and Im still so angry my hands are shaking. First things first, the actual service done was top notch. The machanic that worked on my truck did a great job, and saved me thousands off what the last shop quoted me, as well as fixed my problem. In reguards to him, I could not have asked for more. Truly. My issue involves the manager, Terry. I went there today having read these other reviews and expecting someone professional. This appears to be dependent on what color your skin is. From the beginning he would only answer my questions in grunts and "uh-huhs", and never raised his head from his lunch or the screen in front of him. Many questions recieved no answer at all, as if I was talking to myself. I just sat down to wait and forgot about it, despite other customers of african-american heritage recieving a smile and a warm welcome. Im not from the south, (only here temporarily) and have learned this to simply be the norm in many places. Only later, during a discussion with another customer did I hear him refer to a caucasian as "white boy" did i really get offended. I was offended because in the North, that is a phrase that will incite a riot. Mainly because to address ANYONE either by their skin color, or as "boy" is inherently insulting. If I said "black boy" in public, odds are id be in a hospital (or jail) pretty quick! I stormed out, and when approached by him later told him I didnt even want to discuss it, and finish my truck so I can leave. He passed the word on to his men, and told them to get it gone. 30 minutes later, when i went back inside to sign the paperwork, the office area smelled HORRIBLE. I didnt care, but he mentioned it and said, "You smell that? Thats that weed. You know, that purp". Now, to look at me, you may think that Id know EXACTLY what that is... If you were profiling. And youd be right. I do. But....only because Im a former prison drug councelor! Last customer was long gone, and this was fresh, and hes lucky I didnt call the cops right then. I just wanted out. I will never go back there, and pray that Im out of the south before I need any more work done. As I mentioned, Im not from here, and understand that many things that are normal in this part of the country may rub me the wrong way. But for those of you who understand my feelings, I recommend somewhere else. On the bright side, i can tell people back home that the warnings Id laughed off before comming here, were very much true. Stay above the Mason-Dixon! ------------------------------------- I really dont know what to say here. I moved to Mobile from Virginia in June, and used my 99 Ranger to get here. My grandfather bought it new, and its all ive ever wanted. It was dealership maintained by the same people whod sold it to us, and had handled all our families auto needs for 40 years. It was immaculate, and a source of great attachment. A week after that long drive i lost breaks suddenly driving on Hillcrest, and luckily coasted into their parking lot using the E brake. They replaced all my lines and connectors for a decent price, and everything was good.... In the week after my visit, my truck completely fell apart, and i could only think it was Precision. Autonation Ford told me i needed a new transmission worth 2k more than the truck itself, only to find it was a $50 fuel injector. I now have warning lights, misfires, and a rattle you can hear a mile away. I really dont know what to think. I came online today hoping to find some good local reviews... And here I find that to be the same shop Id gone to first! Ill call them and ask for this Terry person im reading about. Ill let you know what happens. I may have jumped the gun and blamed them, when really, it was just a long a** drive. When Autonation told me i needed a trans worth more than the truck, i actually went outside and cried. When a machine means that much to you, only the best will do, and Im determined to find that outfit. Ill let yall know what happens on my return visit.

First, I dont typically write negative reviews after a single bad experience because I understand that people have bad days and mistakes happen. Im also very knowledgeable of automotive repair/maintenance and I typically do everything myself. The exception to this is with oil changes because it is more time efficient to drop my truck off at this location since my office is down the street. My coworkers & I have used them for quite some time and were always very please. Management changed last year and things seemed to have gone downhill. First, my co-worker had some relatively simple brake work done there that they messed up twice. He ended up having to take it elsewhere to have fixed. I dropped my truck off to have the oil changed with the same instructions that I always have: rotate the tires, change the oil, do not top off my fluids because I use a particular one for my wipers and adding the watered down garbage they have makes visibility zero. I returned to find that they had topped off my fluids, told me I needed a new air filter when the one I had was 3 weeks old and did not rotate my tires because they claimed there was a nail in the rear driver side that would create a safety hazard. I inspected all of my tires and found no such nail. I went to the tire shop and paid to have both tires removed and guess what....no nails. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and decided that I would still give them my business unless things didnt improve. Today we dropped a co-workers vehicle off to have his oil changed. We pull in several hours later to see a group of them gathered around the driver door trying to use a slim jim to unlock it because they locked the keys in the car. They hadnt even changed his oil yet. Had they called him he would have been able to tell them where his spare key was located instead of having to make another trip up there to get his truck. That sealed the deal for all of us at my office. We will drive a little farther for peace of mind.

I see people bashing this place, but Ive been going here for three years and Ive never once had a problem. My first car was a 1997 Maxima that was pretty beat up. I went to ALF in Tillmans Corner and they lied to my face about what was wrong with my car. They kept trying to get me to get a bunch of services done, but I told them I would wait and come back with my dad. They kept insisting and I was honestly getting mad. When my dad checked my air filter, not only was it fine, they did not put in properly. He told me to never go back there, and I did not. Oil changes are notorious for going after young females who do not really know much about cars and thats exactly what ALF did. I decided to go to the Precision Tune on Hillcrest because of their advertised low prices, and they were true to the prices. I had a 2010 Toyota Corolla that had very high miles, and the first time I took it in the manager came to me and said "I honestly dont see a thing wrong with this car, the miles are high but everything looks great." That is the first time an oil change place didnt try to extort money out of me, so I was sold to stay there. Since then they have been honest, and do not hassle me for things when I come in for a basic oil change and tire rotation. I now have a 2014 Corolla, and it is the same deal here. They have not tried to extort money out of me. They are always fast and honest. I would definitely recommend this place.
