Meineke Corporation Car Care Centers Complaint Letter Dear Meineke: On 05-24-2010 I went to the College Drive Meineke to get my 1998 Ford Explorer checked. The check engine light was on and it was shaking really badly under the hood. Lee charged me a $102.01 to place my truck under diagnostic. He stated one of my spark plug wires was cut. He stated my spark plugs and spark plug wires needed to be replaced immediately or my truck would break down. He stated it would cost me $419.65 but he we deduct $100.00 for the diagnostic. I stated I had to wait until I get paid and I would be back when I have cash. On 05-26-2010 I came back to the same Meineke on College Drive and 8:00am and spoke to Lee. He made me give him cash upfront before he fixed the vehicle. I had to wait 2 hours for the parts to be delivered. As I waited Lee and his wife were arguing, screaming and physically fighting. When the parts were delivered the mechanics began to work on my vehicle. I was very nervous due to all the noise and screams between Lee and his wife. I went out several times to talk to the mechanic to assure my vehicle was in good hands. I explained I am a single mother with 2 kids, a part-time job and I cannot afford not to have vehicle nor can I afford for to spend this amount of money. The mechanics assured me my car would be fixed properly. In the course of 5 hours Lee and his wife physically hit each other and he slammed her on the ground. He took her keys and threw her cell phone on the roof in the auto shop. His wife asked me to help her so I called the police. Due to the distraction someone else called the police too. The police came and resolved the situation. While the police was their getting report Lee claimed my truck was fixed. Before I could get out the parking lot the truck was still shaking and the check engine light was still on. I backed my truck up and Lee got under the hood and adjusted something. He claims the wires were crossed. On 06-22-2010 brought my truck back to Lee because it started shaking again and the problem wasn’t fixed. He claims the spark plugs wire set on something and burned. If it was put in properly this would not have occurred. All the parts were under Meineke warranty so he replaced the wires and claims it was fixed. A week later the truck starts to experience the same symptoms Lee claim he fixed. So I called the Meineke in Gonzales, LA on Airline Highway and explained my situation. David the manager told me that he has received 10 cars in the last month from the College drive Meineke due to bad mechanic work. On July 7th I drove 30 miles out to the Meineke in Gonzales. They told me that the problem the whole time was the DPFE Sensor and I had to pay $218.00. David and his Meineke team fixed my truck. It is unfair that I had to watch Lee beat his wife at Meineke, I had to take my truck back 3 times to College Drive Meineke for the same problem, I had to drive 30 miles out for a problem that could have been fixed 30 days ago for less money. It is unfair for Meineke Corporation to allow Lee to rip people off and operate in this manner. I would like Meineke to reimburse the money I paid to Lee in the amount of $319.65. I have spoken to Lee and he was very uncooperative. Thank you for this assistance in this manner.

Before i start the guy i dealt with the first time I brought my truck is not the same guy I dealt with the second time and now so if they have changed management I am sorry to the new manager but I Brought my truck in to get the muffler changed to a flowmaster about 1 and a half years ago. They did the work and called me. When I had discussed what I wanted I told them I wanted dual cowboy style (muffler tips bent towards the edges of the bumper). When I picked up my truck the mufflers were straight back and not bent at all. Also the tips they put on were not Flowmaster tips they were magna flow tips. He informed me that the machine to bend pipe had broken and they had to do it this way and that the flowmaster tips would not fit. I decided that since the work was already done Id take it. Couple months later I started having rattling in the muffler. They had bolted my tailpipe to my frame instead of using a hanger and it had rattled loose and fell out. When I brought it back they charged me 70 dollars to redo the work. Said someone had bent my tail pipes or had vandalized my muffler and that was what caused my problems. So I paid the bill. 6 months later the hanger they welded to the tail pipe is rusted through the pipe and now is falling off and has left a hole in my pipe. So I bring it back and the man tells me that the tail pipe is bent 6 inches to the left and thats what the problem was and charged me again. After inspecting the new hanger they put on they didnt change the pipe and just used filler to weld around the rust on the tailpipe. I will never being my truck back to this place for anything. I know my business doesnt matter to them because is only a few hundred dollars but please bring your vehicle anywhere else. I have never seen such a terrible job in my life. I learned my lesson my truck is now elsewhere that will honor the warranty and not give me bullshit about it and do things the way I wanted to begin with.

If I could give ZERO stars I would! I went in to get my break pads changed under my lifetime warranty and due to some set backs i was informed that i needed to get my rotors changed which were not covered so 350 dollars later i decided to go ahead and get them changed, shortly after the manager comes out with a piece to my breaks in his hands and says that they were "unable" to get the lug out and it would cost me some more money, so i just stood there and looked at him when one of the mechanics came out of the back and said "well let me have a go at it, i think i can get it just have one on back up", so then the manager says "well looks like were going to have a try at!" DONT YOU THINK THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SOMETHING YOU TRIED BEFORE COMING TO ME TRYING TO NICKLE AND DIME ME SOME MORE!!! So then shortly after that the manager comes out of the back and states that now i need some type of lugs that usually cost 100.00 but hell ONLY charge me a misc fee of 25.00 while the lady on side of me who was the same race as the manager got work done on her tire and when she asked how much it would be he told her "just give us a good review" ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!! So basically my "Miscellaneous" charge was to cover her dang work on her tire. Go figure! So 375 dollars later i was able to bless someone else and Meineke didnt lose out on one red cent! Thanks for the great customer service, not from me but from the other customer!
