I did not have a very good experience at the Fort Knox in Mandeville. They sold my wife a storage unit that was supposed to be 10’ X 5’ when really after inspection the unit was only 4’ deep. After finding this out the person in the office was animate that it was only a few inches off and that it was normal. The next day I showed up with a tape measure and asked for our money back. The same person was certain that the unit was only off by a few inches and that I was overreacting. When I told him we already measured it he still didn’t believe me. At this point I just decided we needed to just agree to disagree and that I wanted a refund on the deposit…a simple request considering the unit wasn’t moved into and not scheduled to me moved into for another 2 days. The office manager wanted me to say “please” before I would get my refund… I’m not in the habit of begging for my money back from people who wronged me. He then wanted his colleague to see if I was lying about the unit’s dimensions. I was more than happy to measure it out for him and show I wasn’t lying. After talking with the district manager he was very apologetic for the horrendous way we were treated and explained that we should have been offered a different unit or at least a discounted rate for the one we had. By that point we had already signed on with another company. If they haven’t fired that guy be prepared for a I don’t care attitude, and bring a tape measure…three or four inches is one thing, but being a whole foot off is unacceptable.

Awesome experience. I had an emergency and quickly needed to arrange for a storage unit and delivery to said storage unit from 1100 miles away. I called Fort Knox Storage and the gentleman on the phone was very helpful and easy to work with. He set me up with a storage unit helped accommodate and ensure the delivery was done seamlessly. When I finally got down to the unit in person they were very pleasant to work with. I would do business with them again in a heartbeat if I needed another storage unit.
