I took my car to this rapacious pack of scam artists to get a Maryland safety inspection, since Ive just moved to state. $90 and two hours later, I was presented with a list of things that "needed" to be fixed in order for me to pass inspection. It was a long list, included several improbable items (they couldnt find one of my seat belts?), and added up to some $1400. My car isnt worth more than about $500, so I told them no thanks and just decided to sell it. Fortunately, before I did, somebody pointed out to me that the inspection regime in the Peoples Republic of Maryland lends itself to predatory mechanics who like to scam newcomers and the automotively incompetent. On their advice, I took my car to an inspector who doesnt do repairs and so lacks the incentive to find made-up checklist fails requiring costly fixes. Lo and behold, I got the inspection (cheaper and faster than "Top Gear"), and there were only two minor things wrong with the car. Got them fixed for $100. Oh, and this guy was able to find the "missing" seat belt which so perplexed these flim flam folks. I dont know if Top Gear is particularly vile by the standards of Maryland. No doubt many are just as bad and others are worse. But I would advise anybody needing to get this ridiculous inspection to search around for an inspector who isnt also a mechanic. In my case, it saved me $1300.

Its been four years since i have know Top Gear. Ever since then a lot of my relatives and friends have made their trips to the place. It was about four years ago. I remember everything vividly. It was a hot summer day. It seemed business as usual for the world except for me. I had several appointments to meet that day, a dentist appointment for my daughter, a regular health check up for my son, and a visit to my auto dealer. when I went to my car and turned the key on, it would not start. I kept trying for many times in vain. Worried and exhausted, i call my friend Suja. At once she gave me the no. to Auto Gear Shop. In no time they came and toed my car to their place. With all the courtesy I could have, they had me sit down on their lobby and in no time was it fixed. I was now afraid of the service fee they would charge, but no, it was nowhere close to what I had feared. It was way too cheap. Except for a little delay to my first appointment, I made all other appointments on time. Thanks to the extraordinary job of "Top Gear". I told this story to a lot of my relatives and friends, most of whom are now Top Gears die hard fans.

Weve experienced Top Gear Auto Shop teams business ethic; Good people, do honest, efficient work and treat all people with kindness and curtesy. Their style of work seems its their personal passion. We could not find another mechanic shop as great as this team. I went here to get a service done and to get a state safety inspection for the MVA. Actual service on my car was very good, decently priced, fast. BUT When I went to the MVA, Top Gear had put the wrong date on my inspection certificate. They could not electronically send a copy to the MVA (which some mechanics can do). I had to leave the MVA, go to Top Gear, get a new certificate, and then deal with the MVA all over again (and if you live in Maryland you know what a joy that is). The service people gave me a half-hearted oops when I showed them their mistake. No offer to give me a coupon, partial refund for my trouble, or even a genuine apology for wasting my morning.

Absolutely exceptional service. Honest, friendly, and sincere. Today I had a traumatic personal experience, I went to pick my car up and when asked about how I was doing, shared my experience. Not only was Naveed kind and empathized with my situation, he later sent a follow up to make sure I was safe and assured me that things would be okay. I started fixing my cab at TOP GEAR, I liked their service, next I brought my family vehicle and they did every repair; I brought my childrens vehicles and let them do the repair. It did not stop there, this time all my extended family members as well as my neighbors are bringing their vehicle to TOP GEAR for repair. Im glad to say, the service there exceeded my expectations. Not only were they extremely cordial in their conduct but they were efficient in their work, too. I took my car to Top Gear for a state inspection and was extremely pleased with the service I received. The waiting room isnt spectacular but I was willing to deal with that to save $60 (the car dealer wanted to charge me $140 for an inspection!) The staff at Top Gear is very friendly and accommodating, and I ended up bringing my husbands car for an inspection too. Definitely recommend!

When I arrived I was treated by the owner who promised the best prices and quality work. My car was fixed in less than an hour and I was back on the road without a dent in my wallet. Very good at what they do. Went in for inspection, they told me everything I needed and even gave me a site to order the parts from. After ordering the parts and completing the work I wheeled silver back in got reinspected and was good to go! Very friendly and very helpful.
