Id call them scam artists, but dont you have to at least be efficient to earn that title? The first time they came out, they were over an hour late. I had to go to work but my tenant was there. They told me that sediment had gotten into the filter and that it might fix the problem if they replaced it. It would also be $400 and they wouldnt tell me how much the part cost. The plumber said he had to make a "supply run" and hed call me when he was finished fixing it. I never received a call but my tenant hadnt complained so I figured that they would charge the card on file and that was that. I find out that he never came back to fix it. I call them 2 weeks later and they said it was because it was a special order part and theyd call me back. They still couldnt tell me what part it was. They apparently called me back 4 days later to try to set up an appointment, I didnt answer, so instead of waiting for my permission, they just decided theyd take the liberty to come into my house and fix it without me approving. I know this because when I finally answered the phone he said that there was still a problem with the shower. It was "thumping". When I went downstairs everything was working fine. My tenant apparently had heard the thumping too. Funny enough, a quick Google search will tell you that its common when a shower hasnt been used in a while, for it to take a second for the air to come out of the pipes. Even my mother knew that. But he insisted that he might have to replace the whole faucet even though water was coming out. At this point I had enough and told him no way. While he was writing up the write up I asked him to list the costs for labor and parts (in the section of the form where it says parts and labor costs). He played dumb and then proceeded to tell me some of the costs came from having to make the supply run trip. Then he told me that he wasnt even able to get the part when he went on the supply run trip. So then I asked him if he had charged me for a supply run trip that wasnt even successful and he didnt answer. The best I could get him to do was write down what part it was that had to be "special ordered". It was a Glacier Faucet Filter which ranged from $7 to $30 and that I could have ordered and had at my door in 2 days. I will be reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau.

I would like to give HVAC Technician Dale Gunn the highest possible rating available. Dale came out and expertly looked over our unit to ensure any issues which may cause us headaches in the coming summer season has been eliminated. He previously assisted us with repairs from the nightmare experiences of several area HVAC companies who could not seem to get our system 100 percent operational. It was always the guessing game, costing us a lot of WASTED money. Long story short John Flood company (Dale Gunn) has done what Michael and sons, Magnolia, AJ Mechanical services (James Richardson) has NOT been able to do (the others played guessing games all along). Dale shows not just knowledge/expertise to perform any task at hand but he also ensure me as the client understand in laymans terms what is taking place. While previously if a technician comes in and start performing explained operations I would get very nervous, with Dale I trust him even if he dismantled the system entirely. I trust, completely confidence that he will make the system run as never was dissembled. HVAC companies need more technicians like Dale who not only know what they are doing (and HONESTLY respect their own limitations/inabilities) but also develop great customer relations.

I called last night after six. They called back shortly before 7. At this point I had already purchased a faucet intent on replacing it myself. The guy said no problem for them to install the part i just bought. The plumber arrived within an hour, no kidding. They said between 8 and 10, I saw him looking for a parking place at 7:30. He called asking about parking. I came out and paid for his parking. He seemed confused by the meter. I told him it wouldnt take any time. He said it would take two hours...to replace a faucet. Split the difference. He was done in less than an hour. $400. That just seems like too much money. He had to use two of his supply lines. I see them at plumbing supply stores for $5. He charged me $25 each. So I know they have to support a lot of overhead but this is ridiculous. He told me the fixture would have been an additional $200 and that he gave me a break. The work was done just fine. The price....you decide.

Probably not the cheapest in town, but definitely an example of you get what you pay for. We had to have a water main replaced which involved digging a massive hole in our front yard and tunneling under the porch and foundation. The crew was fast and efficient! Job was done in 2 days. The crew took absolutely every precaution they could to preserve as much of the landscaping as they possibly could. The work was done quickly and very well. We were pleasantly surprised to see the relatively good condition they left our yard in - even going so far as to replant plants were they were before, reposition flower pots, etc. ... far more than I ever expected of them. Can only highly recommend JC Flood. Very positive experience. Will definitely use their services for any future needs.

2/16/17--The last day of major work by the Flood Plumbing company on my 90-year old house. A couple of years ago the DC Govt replaced the water feed from the street--now it was leaking into the basement because of a flaw in the pulling of the new pipe. Flood came and dug a trench to replace the connection, raise it up and patch the wall on both sides with waterproof concrete and tar. Walter Amaya was the heavy digging equipment operator, digging a 6 x 3 x 8 trench and when the patching and re-piping work was completed, filling it in again, working with team lead Michael Kendall with Eric McCathran and the concrete technician. Great job! The basement is almost dry already! Thank you all very much!

I called John C Flood to perform a repair of a toilet. They scheduled me within a day. They called ahead as requested and then showed up on time. The plumber discussed the options with me. They had an option to repair the toilet (it needed some rebuild inside) or to replace the toilet. I think both the repair and replace prices seemed high. I choose a replacement. The plumber called the office and a new toilet was delivered within an hour. He worked to remove the old one while he waited for the new one. The new install was completed and looks great (as a toilet can look). So quality seemed very good, but be mindful of the price. The company seems to offer a variety of home services.
