I used this company for two months, when I went to move out of my CLIMATE CONTROLLED unit some of the boxes showed signs of water damage (which is covered by the insurance company). But the insurance company wouldnt pay. I talked to Extra Space Storage and they said that they couldnt do anything to help me. I talked to the staff on sight and discovered that the dehumidifier in my building was broken and had been for months. That other people have had their things get wet and in fact that the company only rents out "air". The company makes no claim that your possessions are going to be reasonably safe. The walls and the cameras on the roof are just there so you will buy their "air" and not some other storage company. We also got locked in. after 10pm if you dont pay extra for around the clock access you can get locked in by the main gate all night. Which is made worse if you need to get your rental back by a certain time or else pay for a second days use. The staff at this location were very nice but they have no power to help you because of the restrictions that corporate puts on them.

I have had a unit at this facility for a number of years and the staff has normally been helpful. The unit is fine but the cost with the annual increases is more than it should be. The annual increases are many times in excess of 10% and this means that the rate a long term customer is paying could be much higher than a new customer after their initial discounts are removed. When confronted with these facts and after much "discussion" with the manager and central office staff they agreed to lower my cost by 1/2 of the $80+ difference. While this helps the site in Columbia was able to correct the overages on their unit to within a couple dollars and it didnt take talking to the central office. In summary, for a short term up to about 2 years this site is fine. But, for any long term storage you will need to review the increases and the going rate at their site and others to see if you are being charged fairly.

I rented a drive up space to store 2 households of furniture. The storage personal were very friendly, efficient and calculated the size unit I needed. This transaction took a total of 15 mins and I was ready to move my things in. The unit was spotless, the gate access was simple and I appreciate be able to enter whenever I choose, with no problems at all. The prices were a little high in the area but, that is what happens when you are close to a major highway. You pay for the location. Monthly payments are made online so I never need to enter the office. A+ for all services and I highly recommend this to anyone in the area. Packing supplies were available in the office with a very wide variety. This is a one stop shop for all storage needs!

Ive been renting a 5x10 climate controlled unit in this facility for about a year now. The staff are quite friendly and helpful- they went out of their way to help get some things straightened out when I was moving things in to the unit. I have had no problems with the unit itself, or the staff since Ive been renting from them. The entire facility seems to be clean and secure. My only complaint is the price. My current rate for the 5x10 climate controlled unit is $98 per month, which wouldnt be too terrible for a short term rental, but its a bit much in my opinion for anything longer than a couple months.

I have never had a better experience in customer service than I have had with Jay and Andre. Not only are they graciously accommodating, but they are also up for easy and fun conversation. Payments were a breeze, thanks to Andre and finding the right sized unit with the perfect location was no hassle, thanks to Jay. Moving can be hard and frustrating, but these guys made the process a whole lot easier and much more pleasant. I would recommend Extra Space Burtonsville to any and everybody who needs a little more space and can appreciate two great guys who are great at their job.

I just want to take a moment to thank Mr Jay Dubois of Extra Space Storage for all the fantasic service he has given myself and my son over the past few years...this man exemplifies top notch service..he has never shown anything but true concern and dedicated professionalism.and in these days and times,that is quite rare..I myself, am in a customer service based industry and I wish that some of my own staff was as dedicated and dilligent as Mr.Dubois...Jay..thank you for all that you do and by all means...keep doing it your way..

I rented a unit at this Extra Space Storage because it was near my house and it was the most inexpensive unit of its size. I wish I had found this place much earlier! The unit was clean, had working lights, and I had access anytime between 6 AM and 10 PM. At first I worried about getting all my stuff in and out of a indoor unit, but they had carts for me to use and I found it was easier than getting things in and out of my own house. All in all renting this unit was an great experience and I would choose to use it again.

I would like to recommend this place for many reasons. I like the way they care about customers. I went there the day before to get a 10x10 unit after hours. The man in the front office was still trying to help and gave me all the info needed, compared to other places I have been ... big difference. When were comparing prices Extra beats the competition. If you add those saving at the end of a contract this makes a big difference. Great service, place is clean. GREAT JOB SO FAR

We just rented an inside unit. This is the first time I have used a storage place. It appears pretty clean overall. The outside doors have magnetic timers to hold them open for loading, which may seem a bit stupid to mention but was quite handy on my return trips to add things that should have gone in the first time. The staff is helpful and explained things pretty well. We will see how things go as time goes on, but I expect a reasonably problem-free rental term.

This facility is in such a convenient location (near US 29 and I-95) and is super clean and well-maintained. The employees are very friendly and helpful in assisting you with any questions you might have, and in choosing the best unit for your needs (what youll be storing and how much you have). There are a variety of units to choose from - climate-controlled, drive-up...lots of sizes, too. I would highly recommend this Extra Space location.

The service here was excellent. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. At only a moments notice they allowed me to store my storage pod on site in order to unload it. They also made signing the paperwork and explaining the paperwork very simple and easy and in a timely fashion. I would definitely recommend extra space storage based on my experience. Jay and Danielle in particular were very friendly.

I would recommend Extra Space in Burtonsville to all of my friends and family! Mike was great to work with. He was on top of my arrival date and made sure that I had what I needed so that the day of move in was smooth sailing. He was pleasant, kind and very responsive. It sure is hard to find that type of service nowadays. Extra Space is clean, efficient and they have someone on the property 24 hours a day!
