I debated long and hard about posting a review for this gym. I had a week off from work and stopped in one morning for a tour and a one month membership to try it out before committing to a longer membership. The cost was $80 for the month, which I found to be a bit high for a gym with no pool, and they also charge extra for tanning and yoga classes. I really enjoyed their spin classes and decided to continue my membership just to attend the group spin class. This is where the pain began. It turns out that the manager must be intent on micromanaging her staff. None of the front desk staff are trained to accept memberships. I stopped in on a Saturday morning and was turned away because the only person who could register a membership was not at work. I asked when she would be available and they told me she comes in weekdays. So I take an afternoon off work, go to the gym, and again she is not there and no one else was allowed to register memberships. What kind of manager employs staff that are not empowered to grow the business in their absence? The front desk staff just sit behind the desk and read a book while ensuring that each member swipes their card on entry - and that is their only job. I asked one how to use equipment and they told me they were not trained on equipment use. One day during spin class a woman fainted in the main gym. The spin trainer had to stop class and handle things. The only employees I ever saw in the facility were the untrained front desk staff, and whatever trainer was holding group (if there was a group at that time). I do not blame the front desk staff. I blame the manager who refuses to empower her staff. Running a gym requires more than just keeping the bathrooms clean. It means putting money back into the business for equipment repairs, facility improvements, and staff training - all of which are lacking. I have given up on this gym and found one with trained, knowledgeable employees. I only gave it two stars because the spin class trainers are excellent. I ended up joining a different gym that has knowledgeable staff, a facility in a good state of repair, great group classes, much longer hours and only 1/4 the monthly cost of Quest ($19.99 a month).

Dont take fitness classes at Quest! Some of the instructors are GYM NAZIS! They are on ego and power trips, and dont understand that they are paid by the membership to provide a service for them. Some of the GYM NAZIS treat their adult members as if theyre still in pre-school. Quest Members complain that the GYM NAZIS publicly embarass them for minor things like talking to their friends, having something in their mouth, chewing gum, for arriving a little late or leaving early. The GYM NAZIS stand in front of the class and bark out impersonal orders, watch themselves (not the members) in the mirror, and dont relate in a friendly way to members. They dont personalize instruction to help members improve. They dont talk to members about nutrition and how to improve it, etc. There are a few instructors there that have a great attitude -- "This is YOUR workout -- Make it as good as you can. Adjust as necessary." However, they are in the minority at Quest. And theyre not the ones who "rule the roost.". There are TOO MANY GYM NAZIS there who have the notion that the club is all about ONLY them -- and their ability to procure private lucrative training gigs -- and not about pleasing and serving the members who pay their salary. Buyer beware!

Ive been a member at Quest for a year now, and want to add my 2c since the existing reviews seem unfairly negative. Actually, I cant comment on the canceling or the fitness classes instructors; Ive never tried to cancel my membership, and Ive never taken a class. I will say that from my experience its always been clean, particularly the equipment. Quest has all that I need - Im simply there to use the treadmills (which come with flat-screen TVs - Sportscenter is an absolute necessity while running), and the weight area, which has a good selection of machines and free weights. What I really like is that its never crowded, as there is nothing worse than having to wait to use the machine you want. Id also add that the staff has been friendly and accomodating to me, so no complaints on that end. There are both cheaper options and fancier options, but overall Id recommend Quest, its a good place for people who want to pay a little extra for a quality gym but dont need to pay high-end prices for features they wont actually use.

This gym offers lots of cardio equipment, machines, and a decent weight training area. A smaller women only section, stationary bicycle room, massages, childcare and tanning make this good place for anyone looking to get fit and look great. They got many classes and group exercises through out the week, something for everyone. I was leaning towards 3 stars because some classes are held at the weight area which can make it difficult to get a turn on some machines and the floor mats are making the place crowded. You can tell that gym has been around for a while and the machines are quiet worn out. They also provide Physical therapy there and some of the patients hang around the machines having a chat and you have to ask them to move.

The equipment is excellent and the facility is clean, and most importantly, 5 minutes from my house. The weight section is not dominated by hard core lifters wearing jeans and construction boots. This gym is mainly populated by older professionals. The cardio section is a bit too densely packed: so tight that it is impossible to safely walk between two ellipticals in use. This can, of course, be overcome by going at off peak hours. They have free WiFi so you can pretty much watch what you want on your mobile device instead of the bundled cable. Now that their competition in Normandy Plaza has been eliminated, I expect prices may rise...

Its close and its cheap but you get what you pay for. The place isnt dirty but it isnt very clean either. The entire facility is showing its age and looks shabby. When equipment breaks, it stays broken for weeks. The biggest issue that I see is the lack of gym etiquette among some of the members. I cant count how many times I had to work around members who sit on a machine, not exercising and chit chatting to other members. When I have asked them to move they get nasty -- especially some of the seniors. Its a gym, not a social club so move to the lobby if you want to talk. Of course, the managers say nothing.

I have been a member for 15 years. I found that the variety of classes that Quest offers is what appeals to me. There are classes for Pilates, yoga, cardio-boxing, weights, barre, cardio, and spinning. Therefore, Im not doing the same thing everyday. The instructors are knowledgeable and they make sure we have the correct alignment when using weights or doing exercises. They know that each of us have our limitations so personal adaptions to the demonstrated exercise is encouraged. When previous members see a new face we try to introduce ourselves and make the new person feel welcome.
