I use to live within walking distance of Forestville Auto (but have since moved) and have taken my 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis there since 1987 and my 1991 Ford ranger pickup since 1991. I still own the Mercury and today I had an alternator replaced at Forestville auto. Ive always had good experiences in dealing with Mark, who I believe is the owner. If you have not delt with Mark, his personality might come off as somewhat intimidating. Notwithstanding, I always felt that I was getting an honest diagnosis of the problem and a fair price for repairs. I never felt that I was getting ripped off. I ordered an engine (Short Block or long block, cant remember so many years ago) had it shipped to Forestville auto for installation. Never had a problem with the engine and it is still purring like a kitten. The work done there included mostly minor repairs (with the exception of the engine replacement). Finally, I recall the lady attendant, with her young pre-school age daughter, who is probably in college by now , working behind the window. This attendant has worked there for as long as I can remember; at least 20 year or more. Her exceptional customer service has not changed in over 20 years. She has one of the sincerest customer service personalities that I have encountered. I dont usually write reviews, but I feel as if I know these folks, not as friends, because they dont know who I am, but from the point of view of a customer who likes businesses that provide exceptional quality and customer service. I’m sure everyone’s experiences with Forestville Auto will be different., but my comments are merely meant to share my own personal experiences….not to solicit business for this company. I’m sure every one will use their own judgment relative to their own auto repair needs.

Gas station attendants are friendly, and helpful, but they are the slowest shop on planet earth! I needed emergency repair. Stranded 50 miles from home. Turns out I needed alot of labor intensive stuff done (gas tank replacement), among other things. It was WAY more money than I had, so I couldnt get the money for a couple weeks. Got him the money, asked it could be done soon. "No...dude, you had me waiting for weeks to finish this! Bring me what I need, get in line to get it fixed!". Like I had cash laying around the house. I found out I had to wait 5 DAYS after giving them all the money to get it fixed... Dropped it off Thursday. They wouldnt take in cars till the next Monday. They had a back log of vehicles. Why take so many if you couldnt get it done in a timely fashion? How about fixing cars you have before taking in more? I give a star because the gas station attendant was sweet. The car I was using to bring the money broke down. She went out of her way to get me going. The older guy was good too. They couldnt take the second car for a simple alternator job for 3 days because of the load, but Pep Boys got it done in a couple hours. Way more professional... This shop is the WORST for anything but gas. Go to pep boys down the street.

The manager inside the garage shop is EXTREMELY Rude and Careless he cuss me three times and didnt want to show me the invoice for the job .All because i wanted to cancel the job. I had to call the police for assistance I worked and respect ever one . !!! I recommend Everybody to NOT get there car serviced there Ever! They deserve no stars... Worse place to fix you car. No one in District heights should use there service. They dont care about the customer or respect you, but he is happy to take you money and disrespect in the black hood....Boy cut the Shop.

The only reason i gave it one star is because i had to in order to make the comment. My bf took my car to get an oil change and brakes service and the job seemed alright before he left the shop. By the end of the day, the brakes were squeaking and a clicking noise was occurring from under my car. My bf took the vehicle back to the shop and they said that there was nothing that they could do. Although, they are the reason that the noises were happening. Im obviously, never going back to this shop every again.

New Service Manager inside the garage shop is EXTREMELY Rude and Careless!!! I recommend Everybody to NOT get there car serviced there Ever! Been a loyal customer going there for 4+ Years before the New Service Manager and now Im taking my car elsewhere. Went there to get my regular oil change and was demanded to pay for the high end oil change which I refused, but because I refused and paid for what I requested which was the low end oil change, they simply emptied out the old oil, but put in NO OIL AT ALL!
