If I could leave a negative star I would. There is a reason the USPS is bleeding money. One of the main problems seems to exist in Frederick, MD. Sean, the new post master is one of the most difficult people to work with. I own a small business downtown and ship roughly $150,000 worth of postage annually with USPS. You would like the USPS would work with us to help figure out how to make our partnership as seamless as possible. However Sean, makes it almost impossible to keep doing business with the post office. He isnt allowing his carriers to make a late afternoon pick up due to overtime problems, forcing us to drive packages to the post office, since they usually drop off mail between 12-2. There have even been days where we have had to call the post office to remind them to come pick up packages, and days where no one ever shows up to pick them up. If youve ever visited the actual post office, you will know that the employees also have no regard for customer service. There was a line of about 10 people and one of the clerks spent about 5 minutes talking to a personal friend about life. All of the carriers for the most part are wonderful, they see the value of our business. Sean however is just looking at the shortsightedness of overtime hours, even for one of his biggest customers. We will be starting to look at different alternatives than the Frederick USPS including dropping off packages at Staples (where they get a rev share for anything they have dropped off). We used to ship out of Middletown, MD, where the employees there would bend over backwards to help us streamline our shipping needs. This is obvious a local issue that I hope someone higher up would address. I would urge anyone who has a business or does a lot of shipping to do the same. Take it to Staples. Obviously the Frederick USPS does not need or want our business.

If I could leave zero stars than I would! I called in because the small business that I work for scheduled a pickup yesterday and it never came. So I call in to make sure they stop by today because the packages need to get out to our customers. I call in and tell the guy about what happened, and I wasnt even upset...yet. He tells me I have the wrong post office, he wasnt part of the pickup and delivery department. So I asked him to please direct me to the branch that does do this. He proceeds to give me the number for getting/renewing a passport! Now Im starting to get pissed. I call back and he starts with, "You just called in like 10 minutes ago, I cant help you". I proceed to tell him that the number he gave me was for a passport. He goes, "Oh try this one," and gives me another number (He finally gave me the USPS home number). So I call in, and Im greeted with a different person. I figure, Oh there is no reason for me to be POd at this lady. So, politely, I tell her about what happened and what I need. She snappily replies that she can try to get a truck out there if I give her our address. I dont know my work address off the top of my head, so I look it up in about 15 seconds, and give it to her. She gets all frustrated with me and says shell try to get someone out there, in her snappy tone. This was at FRICKEN 12:03! Usually the trucks deliver between 12 and 2! I told her that was fine, but clearly USPS is not fine. I met two very unpleasant workers today, one of which was very rude and the other that didnt know what he was doing and gave me false information. We usually deliver through USPS and UPS, and the people that pick up and deliver packages are always super kind and nice, but the office workers here are THE WORST!!! I am very disappointed in USPSs work!

Seems like they can never find my house. I live less than 2 miles from their office and my house is not hard to find. Had a package shipped and they tried to deliver it on a saturday, but of course they couldnt find my house and before the day was done they had sent it back to the sender. Adding insult to injury, I found out this had happened on Monday and called them to try and come pick it up myself. When told that it had been returned to the sender I inquired if they could call ahead and have it shipped back to Frederick for me to pick up. They told me this was not possible and that the sender would have to send it again. I asked if he would have to pay shipping again and they said they would call me back with an answer. Later that day with no call back I called them again and the person who answered was quick to tell me that yes, the sender would have to pay for shipping again.

I regularly mail packages to clients, and sometimes I use the automated stations and sometimes I get in line. I have been making several trips per month, and sometimes many more, since around 2007. The employees are always great. It is obvious that they are moving as fast as they can, and I have always been treated politely, and even with good humor and good suggestions regarding whatever project I am packaging and mailing. Sometimes the line is long, and as you wait, you can see and hear the wide variety of issues the staff have to deal with. Language barriers, complaints that an ex is stealing the mail, someone trying to mail a package that looks like its about to fall apart, and so on. I dont envy their job. But they do it well.

You would think in a somewhat small city, it wouldnt be tooooooo hard to get your mail delivered to you correctly. I was home all day and looked out my window for the deliver person and that person never delivered my stuff that was suppose to come in that day. Didnt knock, didnt leave a notice, yet their website says so. I called the place and the person answered and said I could come and pick it up. I came and they pretended they didnt know I called in. One of the dude was so rude and kept cutting me off, and told me to move to another guy who "specialize" in helping that certain problem. Seriously, isnt it your job also to exist people? And Ive been there more than once. Terrible post office and some staffs lol..

I sent the package overnight and paid about $19 to send it. The package was not delivered until four days later. The post office representative kept saying that the address I sent it to had been changed. I have sent over packages to the same address before many times and I still send them and they all get there. They did not bother to contact the other usps and find a way to keep the package in one post office so that one of my family members can go personally and pick it up. I had to do that myself. On top of that, they did not refund the money I spent on the overnight delivery because it was not their fault.

Unfailingly polite staff-- they always take their time, never make you feel rushed, and can supply information on any topic with a smile. They do a great job of managing crowds especially at the holidays, by having a staff member direct traffic and assist with the self-postage machines. When I moved to Frederick they were great about getting new keys for my mailbox-- predicted time was 3 days, and they did it in about 6 hours. This is the only post office I have ever thought was a real pleasure to visit and use.
