First and foremost I would like to say avoid this place and go with some place off base. Here are some reasons: 1. They will give you an exaggerated list of things that "need" to be repaired on your car in hopes of taking advantage of peoples ignorance in dealing with car repair. 2. They dont finish their repairs. See my story in dealing with this place in paragraph below. 3. You have to remind them to work on your vehicle. If that is not enough reason for you to avoid this establishment read my experience below and it might change your mind. I went in for a simple brake inspection and oil change on Monday the 5th of October. For a few weeks I had been noticing fluid underneath my vehicle and my brakes were fading. I figured there might be a leak in the brake system so I asked them to try to find the leak. A few hours after I dropped my car off I called Firestone and asked what the status of my car. They said they could not find a leak but they recommended that I replace all four tires, have the fuel system cleaned, the coolant system flushed and cleaned, the brake system flushed. Here is a synopsis of the recommended repairs: Tires - I had just replaced the front two. They had maybe 2000 miles on them. Replacing all four tires included, the 70k mile warranty, Maryland tire fee, balance, RUBBER STEMS ($3 a piece), road hazard protection, SCRAP TIRE RECYCLING FEE, and tire installation. Fuel system - Fuel and induction decarbonization with labor Coolant - Flush ($62 by itself) with sealer and conditioner and Khameleon antifreeze Brakes - Fluid exchange with labor and flush. Everything included it would have cost $759.15. I turned down the "recommended" service. Later that day I asked over the phone specifically what needs to be done to my car. They said that the front brakes need to be replaced. This included the pads and the rotor. It had been a little while since the rotor was replaced to I went along with it. I also asked for them to do and oil change. The next day I picked my car up. I drove it around for a little while testing the new brakes and everything seemed fine. Fast forward to Saturday to the 24th of October. I dont drive my car all that often, because I prefer to ride my bike, so it had been sitting for a few weeks in the parking lot. I get in my car and try to put it into gear but I notice that my foot went all the way to the floor after pressing the brake pedal. After looking around my car I noticed that my brake fluid had leaked out and was in a puddle underneath my car. I immediately brought it to Firestone and told them that the leak that I had asked for them to repair caused all of my brake fluid to leak out. They said that they would take a look at it that day. Tuesday the 27th was the day I finally was able to pick up my car after they had replaced the back brakes for free. All I had to pay for was the brake flush which included bleeding the brakes. Right after beginning to drive it I noticed my foot still went all the way to the floor in order to stop my vehicle. Bleeding the brakes after they had been replaced would have solved this. I brought it back to Firestone and said that I had no brakes. After 30 minutes of waiting in the building I was told that my vehicle was ready. The labor that was annotated was a brake paddle was loose. It took me three visits to this facility to get my car repaired. Do yourself and favor and pick another place.

Wow, where do I start? I had a brake line bust on my Explorer so since I live real close to the Firestone on base, I unfortunately decided to give them a shot. I made an appointment to have the car fixed on 7/7/13 at 11 am, and when i took the car in they said "okay well call you when its finished." So about 8 hours go buy and still no phone call, so I actually called in myself and was put on hold for 20 minutes until eventually it just hung up on me. I called again, waited another 15 minutes then finally talked to a mechanic. They said "oh hey we have to order a part, what do you want us to do. I had to use the car the next day so I had them put the car back together and I would bring it back when they had the part. When I got to Firestone I couldnt help but realize that my car is in the same exact place that it was when i parked it earlier that day, even still a little crooked from the direction that i entered the premises. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and said maybe they did work on it. The part that they said "they needed" somehow arrived a day earlier and they told me to bring it in. I brought the car in again on 7/10/13 at 7:30 am, and they said again "well call you when its finished." I say okay and leave again. This time 9 hours go by, then I finally get a call saying "hey our tool is broken, youre going to have to wait until a new one comes in." First of all, they must think Im some kind of moron, because everybody knows that a workshop as big as Firestone carries more than just one tool to fix brakes. Second of all, why did it take 9 hours to call me to tell me that their tool is broken. He asked me what I wanted to do and I said, "Is the car back together?" And he replies "umm yeah, we put it back together because we wanted to know what you wanted to do." That doesnt make any sense, so I went back to pick the car up and what do you know? Its sitting in the SAME EXACT spot that I parked it in, crooked in the aisle from the direction I entered the parking lot, which is a one way direction. They NEVER took the car apart, they were just lazy mechanics that made up horrible excuses so they wouldnt have to work on my car. Literally THE WORST business I have ever been to. I will never return to another firestone as long as I live. The mechanic who continually lied to me and wouldnt work on my cars name is ADAM. Long story short, they wasted two full days of my time and I needed the car to pick up my girlfriend from the airport the next day. I was force to take it to somebody else who fixed the car in under 2 hours. PATHETIC COMPANY, PATHETIC MECHANICS, PATHETIC CUSTOMER SERVICE, PATHETIC EVERYTHING.

My 2010 Nissan Altima started to overheat as I entered the base one morning. Once cooled, I confirmed the radiator was dry, but oil and transmission fluid levels were normal: no discoloration or visible signs of internal damage. Tried to replace coolant and observed it immediately leaked below the engine, so I took it to Firestone and requested a diagnostic check on the engine code then resultant inspection of the thermostat as well as radiator and hoses for damage. Received a call about an hour and a half later saying it was a loose hose and bad thermostat. Received a call around 1:30pm the following day, saying my car was "ready." Arrived at Firestone shortly thereafter, paid my bill, then attempted to drive back to work... wouldnt start. Had the technician come out, attempted to start it about half a dozen times before stating the cooling system still had air in it. He finally got my car to start after about 15 to 20 minutes of tinkering and claimed the cooling system was operating normally. I wasnt sold on the repairs, so I told him I was going to drive it around the base a couple of times to ensure it was functioning properly, to which he replied, “...probably a good idea.” The temperature rose and fell a couple of times, but never overheated as before. The car began to jerk back and forth as I attempted to accelerate before finally dying at an intersection after only driving five miles or so from Firestone and smoke started to pour out of the exhaust as I tried to restart. I called Firestone and spoke with the technician, who then diagnosed the problem as being the head gasket, but offered nothing more than the number to a nearby towing service. I have now had to tow my car to another service center for costly engine repairs, perhaps resulting from negligence, whereas the technician told me he ran the engine for an hour and drove it around a few times after making repairs. Needless to say, stay away!
