Avoid this mechanic at all costs! Poor customer service, and they misdiagnosed my uncles car problem. Normally, I would not be around Joppa to do anything, because I live in Silver Spring, near DC. My uncle drove from Queens NY to come visit, and his car started having electrical problems, so they stopped at Days Joppa Auto Care, their nearest repair shop at that moment. The initial diagnostic was a faulty alternator. They replaced the alternator, then changed the diagnostic to a faulty onboard pc that wasnt routing the electrical correctly. They hooked up the battery directly, bypassing the newly installed alternator so that my uncle could finish the trip. This was done June 26, 2015 Needless to say, I had to jumpstart my uncles Explorer before his trip back home to NY, where he took the car to his usual mechanic shop. Faulty computer problem, nope. The problem was... get ready: "a bad alternator." The newly installed alternator was bad. And the bypass did not work, and the battery was now also defective. The problem was fixed in NY with a new working alternator, and a new battery. I went to NY last week to visit my uncle for his birthday, and he asked me to return the defective alternator upon my return. So this is where I come in. On Wednesday, July 22 2015, I visited Days Joppa Auto Care, a 55 mile drive for me from home. I walked in to the office and explained the problem. Immediately, the person which appeared to be the manager/owner, said that my uncle had not followed the correct procedure, and they should have had the defective part replaced in Advance Auto in NY. They said that they could not do anything, and that I should go to Advanced, a few blocks away to confirm the part is defective, and that "maybe" they would return the money paid for the part. Having traveled 55 miles with two small kids, and my 92 year old grandfather, I wasnt going to waste my time explaining to their staff what good customer service and ownership means. My uncle did not buy the part from advanced, he paid Days for the part. I did however, go to Advanced as they told me to do. In Advanced, they confirmed that the part was defective and gave me a full refund for the part. The full refund for the alternator was $119.24. I guess I should be satisfied with getting money back for the part. So I looked at Days receipt to confirm the amount... $249.95. My uncle was charged by Days $249.95 for the $119 part. More than double the cost!!! I returned to Days to request the remaining amount of money, explaining that Advanced took the part back and gave me a full refund of the $119, and requesting that they give me the remaining $130 they charged for the part. The manager said: "No." Im not going to give you anything. You didnt follow proper procedure. I respectfully said... Im here now, and this alternator has traveled more than 500 miles to come back, right now I dont care about procedure. The second person in the room then told me: It traveled 500 miles for nothing, thats not how it was suppose to be done. The manager than proceeded to saying: "Im not giving it back. You can sue me." This business should be avoided by anybody potentially doing business with them. Not only are you paying excessively more for parts, but their labor is also unreliable. On top of just their basic business problems, their customer service is reprehensible. Avoid yourselves a headache. Never go to Days Joppa Auto Care.

I was driving from Washington DC to Long Island NY on 10/20/2012 when I had a tire problem (slow deflation) on I-95. I made it to the Joppa exit ramp and put air in the tire at a quick mart/gas station. Not wanting to press on to a travel plaza for a tire repair I went to the nearby Day’s Joppa Auto Repair. They were able to help me immediately. When they pulled the bad front tire we found an unusual wear pattern that had worn one side down to the inner cord. Continued driving could have caused the tire to go flat again and possibly come apart. The other front tire was in a similar but less severe condition. I purchased a new set of front tires and an alignment to help with the wear pattern. They were able to get me back on the road in about an hour. As it was more than a simple flat tire, stopping there allowed me to get the problem fixed and continue my road trip. I found that Lissa, the general manager, and mechanics to be courteous, helpful and businesslike. The pricing and the services provided were right on the mark. I was pleased with the outcome and would use them again if I lived in the area.

A big fat 0 !! The female manager is the rudest person I have ever spoken to. Days had made an error when completing an oil change, which resulted in an oil leak. When I asked them to correct the error, she stated that it was my fault and continued to berate me in the store. After they fixed the issue (a twisted rubber gasket within the oil filter) they stated that it was their error and apologized. When a call was made to address this issue later with the female manager, she hung up on my wife 3 times. Their 100 % customer satisfaction was no where close. It is a shame, since I was a repeated customer and prefer to keep family businesses in business. But this woman ruined any future business dealings, she should not work with people or answer phones (or more like hang them up on people repeated). SHE IS HORRIBLE!

I have been coming here form all my vehicles for the last 20 years. I know the owner who is a nice responsible man. But when I came in form an oil change while planning my husbands memorial, the manager was rude Andrew has an attitude problem. The owner needs to find someone more personable who treats customers with respect instead of contempt.
