Actually 48 States Moving and Storage is VERY POOR, but poor to fair is the lowest option. I DO NOT RECOMMEND 48 STATES MOVING and Storage. Better Business Bureau has 6 claims against him, now 7 with mine. Out of 988 movers registered, only 36 companies have 6 claims, and 48 States is one of the 36. When I told Dave, the owner, I was going to report him to the Better Business bureau he laughed, and said, so what, they wont do anything. Dave, the owner, mis- represents himself, the company, their insurance, and experience. This appears to be a one man operation, and THE INSURANCE THEY HAVE WILL NOT COVER DAMAGES TO YOUR FURNITURE. I hired 48 states to move me from the east coast to the west coast. Dave lied about everything, he is a con artist. Dave showed up in a rented Budget truck. He had 2 other guys to assist him, clearly picked up off the street, day labor. As it turns out, my furniture was not wrapped or packed in the truck properly. Every piece of wood furniture has severe damage; not scratches, it has deep cuts and even 3 deep gouges in one piece as though something heavy and sharp was placed on top it and slid across the top. It had been wrapped in blankets only, with no cardboard to protect it. A custom designed dresser, made from solid Maple was split in half. The entire top of the dresser is split down the middle. The horizontal shelf in the middle of the bookshelf was hit by something, and ripped from the base. Its impossible and unacceptable to have this much damage in a move. However, David Peretz, the owner of the company said the damage is normal, and is expected in a move. I asked Dave, the only employee, to file a claim for the damages and he refused. He also refused to pay for the repairs. He said his insurance only pays when the truck has an accident and everything is completely ruined. You should know, 48 States will not pay for furniture they damage. The Better Business Bureau shows this is the second complaint this month. It shows the other complaint was unresolved, so I know I will need to take legal action to collect for the damages.

This review is in response to the SPAM posted by Ms. Cate Mathews. As anyone can see on Ms. Mathews post is that there is a clear intention to slander 48 States Moving and Storage and the manager in our company. It is clear that the managers name has been used a number of times intentionally for some reason to "boost" her slander efforts-when her claims are with a business not an individual. Her claim was for 4 pieces of furniture: 1 mattress that was delivered in perfect condition. Her claim was about the moving pads that were used to wrap her furniture, claiming they had some dust on them(which makes sense since we wrap customers household goods with it) Her claim was that she will have bed bugs because of the blankets that were used during her move(even though we shrink wrapped her mattress completely and there are no bed bugs on our blankets) and requested $2000.00 for a new mattress-which we obviously declined. 1 piece was chipped, 1 with a 1.5 inch mark, and a dresser top that was cracked. She requested that we send her 3 pieces from the west coast to a wood maker in Wisconsin to make a replica of her 3 pieces and ship it back to the west coast. Ms. Mathews requested a total of almost $6000.00 when her total move cost was about $4400.00. WE OBVIOUSLY DECLINED. Our Insurance company still sent Ms. Mathews a check for about $3600.00 by mistake because of some miscommunication within the insurance company and not knowing Ms. Mathews declined on her contract all additional insurance options for her move. The insurance agent couldnt do anything in the matter since the check was already sent-she did not pay for any insurance policy and still received a large compensation by mistake and a free move. by doing simple math of expenses, 48 States had paid for Ms Mathews Move to the west coast. but still for some reason Ms. Mathews chose to trash our company for no legitimate reason. Since this is the ONLY review "of it kind" online about 48 States(after more than a decade in business) it is fair to say that her accusations are wrong and do not represent 48 States customer service and policies.

Long story short, I moved twice in two days. And THANK GOODNESS for 48 States Moving! They saved my sanity when moving can be so stressful. The 3 men that did my move were nice and efficient. I had used 48 States Moving last year, so I was familiar with the company. And when my new apartment had a huge problem and I had to move out the next day, I called 48 States Moving right up and they had me scheduled for a move the next morning at 9am. I cant think of any other moving company that would be so accommodating! I highly recommend them for any move, large or small, a year apart, or a day apart! Thank you 48 States Moving!

I usually dont post reviews about services but this company helped me a lot and provided a great service. I contacted 48 states on a short notice about my move Mike was very nice and professional and with in minutes I got all the information I needed including what and how is going to happen on my move date. I received a flat rate I was happy with and the move went exactly we planned. I moved many times before but this was hands down the best moving percipience I had. I hope this review helps and dont hesitant to call 48 States they are great.
