I had my furniture and household items in storage for 5 years plus. On the day that I moved out, I was told that I was in arrears and that if I did not pay promptly, that I would not be able to move. I had thought that my account was current, but having rented a vehicle and enlisted the help of several, I paid anyway. I had invested too much in the move not to make it happen. In the midst of the move, Denise, an employee there, told me that she had charged me in error and that she wanted my card so that she could reverse the charges. She took my card and assured me that the money would be back in my account. A week passed and the funds were still not returned to me. I called the facility and was told that no-one at this site can help you with this issue. The next day, i showed up at the facility to follow up, and the manager insisted that I had been refunded and that the money was in my account. NOT the CASE!. And, he told me that he was also powerless to help me further.I asked several times, whom I needed to speak to to resolve the matter and was told that they were not permitted to divulge any names. I felt like I was spinning my wheels and not getting any answers. I felt that as a customer, who paid promptly each month, that I deserved more than the run-around. I finally went to my bank to resolve the matter. The BRILLIANT, meticulous, customer-focused staff at the facility had refunded the money to an account that I no-longer held. I would STEER CLEAR of this place. THEY do not care about their CUSTOMERS in any way, shape or form

Im giving the unit a overall rating of 1, because of an extremely bad situation that I faced. I moved into a unit at the end of July for a reasonable price, filled out paperwork, signed the contract, and a month-and-a-half later, I got a notice that stated my monthly rent was increasing by $63, which is over 55% more than what the original rent was! The notice I received stated that this was due to increases in facility utilities and taxes. However, when I called them, they told me increase was because I moved in under a special, and that my rent would increase to the much higher price. They had no documentation of this, I wasnt told of moving in under a special when I took the unit (the rep who I worked with left the company), and it wasnt in the rental agreement I signed. The only thing they could tell me was that someone should have told me how much the increase would be. Thus, they had no proof whatsoever of that ridiculously rent going up on me. This is basically false advertisement, and what I view as a ploy to get them in before enforcing a loan shark-type increase. Clearly, Im moving out at the end of the month, before the new increase amount kicks in. I highly recommend going elsewhere, AND asking the facilities what types of increase are to be expected.

This place is great! George went out of his way to be as helpful as possible. Originally I was worried about using this facility because I couldnt find any reviews before signing up (I think it might have been relatively new then) but as I already mentioned, George was so helpful and nice. Also, although I was signed up for auto-payments every month on my credit card, recently my card was deactivated because of fraud issues but I had forgotten to update my payment information. However, Jesse gave me a call and gave me a reminder so that I wouldnt get charged a late fee. Thanks, guys! The only tip I have otherwise is that if you are renting a car to move your stuff (such as Zipcar/Zipvan), be sure to add an extra hour to your reservation because getting everything set up upon your first visit at the facility can take a little extra time.

I have nothing but positive accolades for this facility. I have always found the two gentlemen in the front office extremely helpful. I had two occasions recently where Mr. Vasquez went above and beyond to assist me. In one instance, I hired someone to deliver over 70 boxes to the facility. There was a language barrier and Mr. Vasquez was kind enough to intervene to make sure the delivery went smoothly. In another instance, I suffered a minor injury upon arrival to the storage unit. Mr. Vasquez came to my assistance with a first aid kit and put me back together again. I highly recommend this well-run facility!

The facility is convenient for me and the rates are good for this area. I have rented there for almost a year. Both George and Jesse are there to help. I have dealt mostly with Geprge. I have had many rental storage units over the last 30 years with various companies. Of the many managers I interacted with, George is by far the best of all them. George is courteous, conscience, and above all professional. He is willing to go out of his way to help. What more can one ask for of an individual.

The staff at Extra Space Storage in Kensington were extremely professional and far exceeded my expectations compared to past experiences with other storage facilities. This professionalism was exhibited not only by the the management, but from regular staff as well. They made choosing this facility that much easier and were extremely efficient in every step of the process, making it a quick and painless ordeal. I would highly recommend this facility to family and friends!

I gave a great review after moving in, and heres my great review moving out. The facilities were as described. There were no unpleasant surprises! The staff were very helpful, making sure I understood their policies and helping to select a payment option that worked for me. I had a 3rd floor interior, unconditioned 5x10 unit. Perfect for my needs. The best price around and very convenient access. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

I was waiting until I took my stuff outta this place to write this: DO NOT BELIEVE THE REVIEWS The employees here make you review Extra Space Storage on Nicholson Court on Google when you SIGN THE LEASE! They STAND OVER YOU and make sure you write good things. Jesse said "I Need you to give me 5 stars, and if you dont give me 5 stars dont write a review". I choose this place because of the reviews and didnt know they make you write them!!! Beware!!!!

Great location with affordable rates for lots of space. George goes above and beyond in his tour and explanation of the facilities and gives a level of service youd normally expect at a luxury apartment building! The building is older and extra space only recently took it over as of spring 2016, however get in now while the rates are still low as this is going to be one amazing location and it has amazing staff.

The Assistant Manager, George Vasquez, at Extra Space Storage, 4950 Nicholson Ct, Kensington MD, is a good as it gets. He has a pleasant and understanding personality and is a delight to work with. He is very thorough and will work with you to will find an economical answer for your storage needs. The location is easy to get to with a quiet access road from Nicholson Court.
