I inadvertently placed the following review for the facility on Earhart Road. That was the incorrect address, location. The review pertains to this location, on Woodfield Road in Gaithersburg. "I searched several storage facilities and this one had both positive reviews, and the sales staff negotiated the best price, once I told them what other facilities were quoting me. When I clinched the deal and arrived at the facility to complete the paperwork, I was told I HAD to buy additional insurance, which was $10/month. I wasnt sure why I had to do that, and not in a position to carefully consider what that meant then, so I agreed to that. However (my stuff is still there) as the months passed, I realized there was no reason I needed additional insurance, and felt uneasy about that initial transaction. Eventually, I wrote Extra Storage, and told them, I felt somewhat coerced to get insurance, after I arrived at the facility, and that was not part of the initial agreement, the quote, and likened it to common sales tactic (an unsavory one) of "bait n switch." I requested they credit me the amount paid for insurance, and apply that credit to my storage fee, as originally agreed upon. Well, guess what? No one responded to my email. And I just noticed the storage rental fee has climbed to $93. And thats a huge increase from the original quote of around $70/month, 18 months ago. But no one bothered to inform me of this increase, either. Im planning to ship my stuff over the next couple of months to my current location. And as I am not in States right now, I am forced to communicate electronically or via phone. I tried to call this morning, but I didnt get the actual facility. Instead, the automated message was from the Corporate Sales Office. But everyone there was still sleeping." NOTE: VERY strange. Google posted the review to this location. Again. Not sure whats going on here. Some confusion, no doubt, between Earhart and Woodfield Road. Furthermore, I was contacted via email - thats how I discovered the "error," and was informed of the mix-up, but placing the review here, appears to be the fault of Google, not mine. Until that is corrected, this "negative" review will not be deleted, as requested.

This place is amazing! We shopped around and were going to visit a few different facilities. My husband is a perfectionist and had to go look at everything in person first. He is also in law enforcement so safety is of utmost importance to him. We were able to narrow our choice down to 2 selections due to the affordable prices. We arrived and this facility was immaculate. There was not even any dirt or dust on the floors or doors. The manager, Leo Swift, was one of the most helpful and customer service oriented individuals that we have come across. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the facility. He gave us a full tour and had answers to our numerous questions. He went above and beyond to help us get everything that we were looking for. We even decided to commit to a year up front because we were so impressed by him and this company. (We never did even go look at our second choice.) We highly recommend this location of Extra Space Storage to everyone. I honestly just cannot say enough good things about him. This company is lucky to have such a committed employee! I dont often write reviews but I had such a great customer service experience here that it compelled me to sit down and write one. The Manager on site (Lee) was extremely helpful and was willing to take the time to explain and answer my questions. These days it seems like youre always rushed when your trying to ask questions but here it was quite the opposite. In addition, they followed up with me to ensure that I understood everything that was told to me. Kudos to Extra Space Storage! I highly recommend this store.

I moved my belongings into unit #2362 on 10/4/14. I just moved my things out on 11/29/2014. Im in my new place for not even a 24 hours and Im unpacking my items and I start to see ROACHES!! Sunday evening Im sitting in my bedroom getting ready for bed and I see a black mouse come out of a packing box!!! It may be safe to have your items stored here but now I have to pay $$$ for an exterminator!!! PISSED OFF!!!! Only had my items here for about 2 months!!! DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!! FLIPPIN GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I recommend Extra Space storage on Woodfield road MD for their specific customer service skills and their ability to help customers when they need help. I always rent from them because the place is cleaned and nice to stock your items. I took this occasion to congratulate Mr Koe, one of the attendant . Guys Koe was very nice professional and helpful in helping me with my unit. I think they are customer service oriented there and I recommend them to you my friends!!!! wish you all the best!

I recently renewed my contract from a month to month, to prepaying for a year. I moved my storage from another facility; due to, their lack of professionalism and cleanliness, which Extra Space has both. I enjoy working with the gentleman that runs this location, and I can always expect a clean environment to walk through. This place is well lit and maintained, unlike unlike the location I left. I think the value here versus other local storage units, is just a little better overall.

All around excellent storage facility! I have leased a large climate controlled unit here for the past few years and have been quite pleased. The property is secure and very well maintained. The staff is friendly and professional. George is an outstanding associate, he went above and beyond to help me and really simplified everything. They even set me up with a great moving company. I cannot say enough about Leo and George and the top notch service my family has received at ESS on Woodfield Road. My father had a unit here until he moved to Florida last year, and Leo STILL asks about his and his wifes health. My storage needs have been unique and Leo has been right on the ball helping my family to find an affordable solution that works for us. The facility is clean and I am confident that my belongings are safe there.

I was helping a friend move when I first came to know this place. It is clean, it is safe and the person in charge does an amazing job. There are always carts available to help you move your belongings to your unit and the prices of the storage units themselves are pretty reasonable, offering different sizes to choose from. So if your looking for a storage unit in a great location and a safe place, look no further. Youve found your place!

This being my first time in need of storage places, I was not sure of the questions to ask during my search. I checked out several places but Extra Storage was the only one that was up front about everything (including requirements and all fees) I needed to consider before signing up.
