Would definitely recommend this shop and will return. I came in for the first time to get a four wheel alignment on a "new" used car that was pulling to the right. I wasnt 100% sure it was the alignment, because I didnt know the full history of the vehicle. I was a bit late for my appointment, so they put someone ahead of me. That was no problem for me, and it was nice that they let me know so I could run a couple errands and return in an hour instead of sitting around. They were extremely busy on a Wednesday morning, which is a good sign, and they handled the business well. They only had to make slight adjustments, and re-center the steering wheel. They said the car was still pulling, and suggested it was radial pull from a defect in the tires. They offered to rotate the tires at no extra charge. Best part was that they didnt even offer to sell me new tires (they were still new, but some cheap Chinese brand put on by the previous owner, which I would never choose.) I didnt have the money to purchase tires at the time, but will definitely return here when its time to do so. The guy at the desk was extremely friendly and informative. They dont pressure you and really make you feel comfortable. They dont talk down to you or try to sell a bunch of services to you like other chain auto shops. I printed out a coupon for the alignment, but they automatically applied it to the bill! Turns out they just apply promotions they are running automatically. Thats a very nice touch, and will save me a trip to the library next time (I have no printer.) The issue has been corrected and my car feels so much better drive. Im very happy with my service here and am looking forward to returning. Id say the only negative point is that you cant really pop in here and expect them to service your car quickly without an appointment. But thats because theyve seemed to earn great popularity, so thats hardly a negative.

We moved to this area last year. My husband and I both take our cars there regularly. We originally took them to Southern T & A for the MD state inspection. They were very honest and up front with us as far as what needs fixed immediately to pass and what would need fixed in the future. Both our cars are about 8 years old so we were in need of break pads and other minor things. They are not quick to sell their customers the most expensive parts. They are very good with explaining what the problem is. I witnessed one of the gentleman assisting an elderly woman with her car. She needed tires and clearly was on a limited budget. he actually took her out side and showed her what 2 tires she should purchase at that time and did not try and sell her the most expensive tire. he explained the differences in mileage and everything. I was so thrilled to have seen this because that is something you dont see everyday from repair shops. I have never been able to find an auto repair shop that was like this. Ive been accustomed to dealing with repair shops that basically take everything except the clothes you came in with. (if you know what I mean) We braced ourselves for a $500-600 bill and were shocked when our total was no where near that for both cars together. I cannot say enough good things about this place and I could go on but I wont. Take your car to Southern Tire & Auto and you will not be disappointed.

I’ve used the service (tire rotation, brake, transmission oil, alignment) at Southern Tire for 8 years+ and I have no complaint. They were very honest, courteous, and never over-charge (comparing the same service with other shops). I didn’t use OEM brake pads and they made noise when the weather was wet or cold. The noise concerned me a lot and I had to bring my car to the shop twice. Each time they went through the test and checking without charging me a penny _ they verified that the braking system, the pads, and the tires were in good condition. Other time, they also didn’t charge me for tire rotation; even I informed them that I only bought tires from them for the other car. i never have to think twice to bring my cars in for service.

Shawn Quaid is a fraud! Worst customer service experience in my life! This guy called me up after I left a review on the BBB, yelled at me on the phone, wouldnt let me speak and hung up. These incompetent fools didnt know how to start a jaguar. I took it down to Tires Plus, they started it right up and I got the work I needed done. DONT TAKE YOUR VEHICLES HERE!! I got two different stories on how they couldnt even start my car. First, one guy said 6 of them tried starting it and the key just "spun and spun around". Then Shawn Quaid the manager said it went in and just got stuck. I told him there was a certain way to start the car with the grooves facing down but he wouldnt listen. COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT AND RUDE!

I went on a trip to visit friends back in va for the wkend. on the way back my RR tire went flat. i had to stop at Tappahonick to get it aired up. my Left Front tire went flat the wk prior and was fine after being aired up. So i went online to check the nearest tire repair place. Southern Tire had the best reviews so i went. They checked both tires and found a nail in both. They even came up and asked if i wanted to just have a repair and not a replace. not a lot of people will do that. i wanted a repair of course. Cost me $46 for both. Not expensive, curtious, and fast service. i was only there for a half hr. Next time im in MD im coming here for any problems i have.

Recently had a Maryland inspection done at Southern Tire. They determined an alignment was necessary even though weve had no problems with pulling or drifting while driving. Cost an additional $85. When we got the printouts for the alignment; the measurements were mainly unchanged from the "before" measurements. When talking with the manager, they determined, the machine was "OLD" and sometimes resets the numbers prior to printing. They offered a refund, then quickly refused to provide one. Be careful when choosing this business. You may be "required" to pay for work that doesnt need to be completed. Two thumbs down.

New to the area, good reviews so I gave them a shot. Great customer service; Sean was very helpful and stayed in constant contact/updates. They managed to inspect and service both of my cars very quickly, without an appointment. And kudos to the mechanics, their attention to detail and quality work, as they got my cars running better than they have for a long time. Very happy I didnt have to go through another horror story with a new mechanic shop, and I will definitely be using them again for all of my vehicles needs. Strongly recommend using their services if you intend on getting your work done right.

I have been relying on Southern Tire for the past 13 years to fix my cars. They are professional and always look to help the customer out when possible. They do a great job and understand what customer service means. Several times, I have asked them to replace something and they simply just adjusted it for me and saved me $$$ because there was no need to replace it even though I thought so due to mileage and age. Simply, the best!
