Infuriating visit: I went to declare a missing passport and apply for a new one on Saturday, 3/5/11. I had filled out all the relevant documents, had two passport photos, birth certificate, drivers license, etc. I waited for about an hour in a nonsensical line where everyone was bumping into each other and shifting to get out of the way due to the cramped waiting space. After finally reaching someone, I explained what I was looking to do and was promptly told I needed an appointment. Fair enough, Im sure hidden somewhere online was fine print saying stating that, so Ill take the fault on that one. The lady was very nice and tried to help make sure that I had everything I needed so that I was ready next time around. She (her name was Adrienne) was surprised because I was fully prepared and had all the relevant documents with me. She mentioned that it was too bad because she had 4 appointments that all were no shows, and I would have been the only one today. After stating this, she said that in fact, it would only take her 10 minutes to help me out today and that she was happy to do it. I appreciated her empathy and compassion and started to get optimistic. All I had to do, she said, was go talk to her supervisor who was out in the hallway. Now let me describe this guy: Unlike all the other employees who were working at the desk trying to get people in and out quickly and efficiently, this guy had spent the hour or so that I knew him standing around, giving out coupons, and wandering around aimlessly. He was a black guy, 510 and medium build, in case you want to recognize him in the future. I went up to him and as nicely as possible asked him if there was anything he could do in this situation. His answer was "Absolutely not." I told him that Adrienne said she didnt mind doing it, that it would only take 10 minutes, and that they had 4 cancellations. Robotically he stated "I understand that, it is not possible." I asked why and again he said that "We cant do that." This man is a fantastic example of how our wonderful government defies logic, wastes our tax money, and marginalizes rational people. Instead of being logical and helping me out now in 10 minutes, they would rather put it off to another week, wasting more of my time and theirs. This guy should be fired - he was a robot, did not answer my questions, and is seemingly getting paid to do nothing except lackadaisically react to people like me. I asked what their hours were during the week for passports, 8-5? He laughed and said that it was 10:30-1:30. Im sorry, but some of us have jobs during the week! For those of you reading this, make sure you call them and schedule an appointment for your passport renewal, even if you have everything sorted out. You have to beat them at their own game, you see. I hope that by the time you have go to this Post Office, the guy I have described is out on the street begging for quarters and Adrienne has been promoted to his position. I am confident this office would be run much more efficiently and compassionately if this were the case. Other things to note: Ample parking Full range of packing material, cards, etc Adjacent to a firing range, no joke. Best of luck to the rest of you

Our recent experience with the USPS has left us furious, betrayed, and aghast. Recently the mail-person failed to deliver a parcel, but "scanned" it as "delivered." Thats it. Were now out 90 dollars, and the USPS has effectively absolved itself of all responsibility. We were told that we could not even file a claim; the sender of the package had to do that, and only if they were insured. Additionally they requested of us to produce a receipt of purchase, even though USPS had issued the tracking number. What? Their representative was rude and condescending. He refused to give his name when we asked for it (as a reference), actually ignoring the question completely, and hung up on us soon afterward. The next representative we spoke to when we called immediately after denied that he had hung up on us. It doesnt matter if an apartment buildings front door is locked, and that the parcel doesnt fit into the mail box, you NEVER leave a parcel sitting at the entrance. If its not guaranteed to fall into possession of the recipient, its not a delivery. There are 11 other apartments in this building; you cant expect us to know and trust all of the other residents and their guests. The USPS representative even went so far as to refuse to verify that the package had even been left at the correct building, though they were certain it was "delivered." If USPSs story is correct, then at some point soon after the package was dropped at the entrance, somebody managed to steal the package. Looks like somebody found a Christmas present for a friend or family member just in the nick of time. Luckily, the Humane Society is helping us get a replacement at no additional cost. "Humane" indeed, bless them!

I ordered a phone case online and waited 6 days. I checked the online tracking system and it said the mail carrier "tried " to deliver the package but our mailbox was "blocked". I know for a fact that no one came to the house because I was looking out the window and would have heard someone pull up and put something in the mailbox. I called them up and was rudely interrupted by someone saying "call back later, everyone is gone were closed."

Terribly rude staff. I have had to call about a missing package a few times and without fail I am treated rudely and condescendingly. One package marked as delivered but wasnt, I was told that it was misscanned and I should get it the next day. When I asked what happened if it doesnt show up but now its been marked as delivered already, I got a rude reply. No wonder they are in debt. Terrible service and terrible attitudes.

I absolutely hated it - I hate it every time - the staff is incompetent and rude! Im currently here and have been yelled at TWICE by this lady!!!!!! Hate it EVERYTIME - they always have problems and have the worst staff and there is no number to complain or call - the person incharge never calls back or seem to be interested in any complaints or customer service! Sucks! Avoid at all costs!!!!

I mail a lot of parcels and refuse to go into this Post Office. They now have a pilot branch at Lutherville Pharmacy and that is where I take my packages. The delivery persons are not any better. They leave my neighbors mail with me and mine with them and are rude when asked any questions.

A good post office for change. Ive lived in the area for several years and never had any issues getting my mail. Everyone is been very nice and professional. The only negative is that the lines are usually long inside the post office.
