I did NOT have a good experience with Restore computer repair. My computer was acting really slow and it kept freezing up. I had norton anti-virus and I ran several scans, all of which came up clean. I also ran a anti-malware program and that program eliminated 3 viruses. However, my computer was still slow and still freezes. I am a full time college student so I need my computer to do papers. I took my computer to Restore on a Tuesday and was told by the young man that was assisting me, that it would take 4 or 5 days for Sam to get to it because they were backed up. The young man assured me that they would not do anything unless they obtained my permission first. On the 4th day, I had not heard from them so I called them. Tammy answered the phone. She was very polite and for that I was grateful. I asked about the status of my computer. She told me they found a virus and that Sam was blowing the hard drive clean. She said that they take all the files, etc off the hard drive, back them up and then precede to clean the hard drive. She said Sam was on a call. She said that this was a very time consuming process but that Sam would call me later and tell me more about what was going on with my computer. At this point, I am a little upset because no one called me to let me know what was going on with my computer, let alone asking me if it was okay for them to precede with cleaning up my hard drive. I figured what is done, is done and there wasnt a lot I could do at that point but I remained hopeful. Well, Sam never called back that night. So I called the next day and spoke with Tammy again, she told me Sam didnt call because he had an emergency call. I told her the virus didnt show up on my Norton scan, she said they always install a 30 day trial of Kaspersky on all of their customers computers because google did a test of all the anti-virus software and they found Kaspersky to be the best. I said to her that I believed that if they put that on, it would cancel out my norton ant-virus. She said she would tell Sam not to put it on my computer. This was Saturday. She said she talked to Sam and he said the computer would be ready on Monday. Well, Monday I waited and waited and no one called so I called and got the awnsering machine. This was around 3pm, their stated hours are between 9am and 6:30pm. Once again no one returned my call. On Tuesday morning Tammy called to tell me my computer was ready. When I arrived at the shop I asked Tammy if my Norton was still on there, could I still access it and she said that she had to ask Sam. So she asked Sam and he told her that when they cleaned my hard drive they had to remove a lot of programs, Norton being one of them. I paid my 99 dollars and left. I get home and hook my computer and I realize that not only did they get rid of my Norton, but they got rid of my Paint Shop Pro and my printer hardware so now my printer doesnt work. It will cost 100 dollars to replace my PSP. So to recap, they never called me to let me know what was going on with my computer, they preceded to remove programs I needed WITHOUT my permission, and they didnt return my calls in a timely manner. I will not be taking my computer back there again.

Fantastic! Restore Computer Repair created a customer for life! About a month ago I spilled a (full) drink on my laptop. Surprisingly, the laptop continued to work but the battery was done - I was received a message that the "battery is not detected". The laptop would only work if the AC adapter was plugged in. I wasnt sure what to do so I continued to use the laptop plugged in and tried different things that I heard from IT professionals and read on the Internet... putting the laptop on top of a refrigerator for two days, uninstall/reinstall the battery. After a month of doing this on and off... I finally broke down and bought a new replacement battery. I put the battery in and was getting the same message - "battery not detected". I finally decided that it was time to get it fixed - I didnt want to risk the laptop completely shutting down on me. I was really torn with where to bring it... do I bring it to Geek Squad, call HP Support ($99 phone call), or go with a local shop? I started doing some research online and called two local places. I talked to Better Byte... they basically told me that I was screwed (not in those words) and there was nothing they could do. I called Restore Computer Repair but they werent open yet so I e-mailed them and had a conversation with the owner, Sam. He told me to bring it in and it could take 3-4 days and that they specialize in these types of repairs. $99 flat fee for labor. I went in that morning and did the upgrade of an additional $75 for the "rush fee" to have it diagnosed that day... Im kind of attached to my laptop and work from home as a marketing/website consultant so being without the laptop for 3-4 days wasnt the best option for me. Sam called me that afternoon to let me know that he took the laptop apart and found some corrosion from the spilled drink, scrubbed it down, put in the new battery because the old battery was shot.... and the new battery was working. It was on a 0% charge so he said he would call back in a couple of hours and let me know if it held a charge. He called that evening and let me know it worked and I could come and pick it up! :) From the e-mail conversation with him, to the customer service I got upon arrival at his store from an associate Kyle to the excellent communication along the way via phone calls... I am extremely satisfied with my service and HIGHLY RECOMMEND Sam and Restore Computer Repair. I know that if I ever come across an issue in the future with our laptops or cell phones... Ill be bringing them into Restore Computer Repair. Thanks so much Sam!

LONG STORY SHORT....AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. I AM GUESSING THAT THE ONLY REASON THEY HAVE A GOOD RATING ON HERE IS THAT THE INCOMPETANT GUY WHO RUNS THE STORE IS FIXING THE REVIEWS. I WENT THERE BECAUSE THE REVIEWS ON HERE WERE GOOD. IT TOOK ME TWO MONTHS, FOUR TRIPS, NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS (MOST UNRETURNED) AND EMAILS IN ORDER TO GET A SIMPLE HARD DRIVE PROBLEM FIXED. I JUST NEEDED THE BOOTUP ORDER RESET (VERY MINOR)IT WAS NOT EVEN COMPLETED IN THE ONE WEEK ESTIMATED TIME. IT TOOK THREE WEEKS!!!!!!! AND THEN IT WASNT EVEN CORRECTED AND MY OTHER INSTRUCTIONS WERENT EVEN FOLLOWED. THE GUY EVEN FORGOT TO PUT ONE OF MY COMPONENTS BACK INTO THE COMPUTER AFTER HE FINALLY "FIXED" THE INITIAL PROBLEM. I WILL ALSO SAY THE SERVICE WAS SHODDY. I HAD LOOSE SCREWS (ONE OF THEM CAUSED A SEPARATE PROBLEM AND ALMOST BLEW OUT MY MOTHERBOARD). IN THE END, I GOT NO APPOLIGY OR REFUND. THE REPAIR PERSON EVEN TRIED TO FIX IT WHILE I WAITED ONE TIME AND BECAME VISIBLY FRUSTERATED. I BELIEVE THAT THE STORE EVEN CLOSES WITHOUT NOTICE, SO THAT THEY CAN GO MAKE THEIR HOUSECALLS. ALL IN ALL, I WAS SENT HOME TWICE WITH MY COMPUTER BEFORE IT FINALLY WAS FIXED AND ON THE SECOND TIME, I HAD TO GO BACK AND RETREIVE A COMPONENT THAT HE TOOK OUT, NEVER PUT BACK IN AND LEFT LAYING AROUND THE SHOP. WHEN I WENT TO RETREIVE IT, IT WAS JUST LAYING FACE DOWN ON A SHELF!!!! YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO LAY SENSITIVE HARD DRIVE ITEMS FACE DOWN ON A DUSTY SHELF. THEN WHEN THE RECEPTIONIST HANDED IT BACK TO ME, SHE PICKED IT UP WRONG AND COULD HAVE RUINED IT. NOT ONLY THAT SHE HANDED IT BACK TO ME AND SAID, "I DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO PUT IT IN". WHAT KIND OF COMPUTER BUSINESS DOESNT HAVE A SMALL PLASTIC BAG OF SOME KIND? ALSO, FORGET ABOUT FINDING PARKING AT THIS PLACE!!!! GOOD LUCK.
