When my computer failed to even boot up, the computer I work from every day, I gave York Computer Repair a call. I explained that the sooner it was working the better, hoping for a speedy appointment, they said they could likely get to it within 24hrs but, depending on how quickly some of their other appointments went they might be able to get to it the same day! Sure enough, the technician called and asked if I was still available to have him look at the computer that day. He was very friendly and professional and very diligent about his work as he tried to isolate the problem. While I had suspected one thing (a failed HD) and he had brought a replacement one with him, he diagnosed it as a problem with the power supply that more than likely fried the motherboard which he said he could order and have in within a matter of days. He tested my backup power supply and determined it was functional. I explained that a friend had a spare board for me and that I would end up installing it myself because I needed to be up and running ASAP. Sure enough, the problem was just as hed suspected and the machine was up and running thanks to some spare parts and his prompt arrival and quick and accurate diagnosis. I would highly recommend them and would certainly use them again for any computer issues that are beyond my knowledge!

Agreeing with everyone else - these guys really ARE the best! My husband and I spent half of our honeymoon hunting down LOST sets in Hawaii to take pictures. My memory card ended up with almost 1400 pictures on it, and after I tried to transfer them to my computer, neither the JPGs on my computer or the memory card in my camera would bring up anything. We were absolutely devastated. After getting back to PA, I called around to a few places offering SD Card Recovery, and York Computer Repair was the only place willing to even say that they had a fairly good success rate, or even mention a success rate at all. When I dropped off my SD Card, Walt informed me that they could do about 80% of everything possible to recover my images, and that if they couldnt do it, they were affiliated with another company who could try absolutely everything. Less than 24 hours later, Walt called to let me know that they had recovered almost 1400 pictures off my card, making us newlyweds even happier. My photos were uploaded to Dropbox where I was able to download all of them, and Walt emailed again to make sure that I was able to download them. I really cant sing these guys praises enough! I will be recommending them to everyone!

Look no further! You have just found your best option for IT solutions for your small business and home computing issues. Walt and his crew are just what I needed; I am so thankful that I found York Computer Repair some years ago. Consistently providing great personal service delivered within the context of broad-based knowledge, I am continually amazed at how quickly he can fix what seemed to me very complex issues. The "K.I.S.S." principle is in constant use -- very helpful in making clear in simple language for non-techies what the basic issues are. Pricing? I doubt you could find a better IT value anywhere. Personal, responsive, competent service -- provided by the same person each time--someone who knows your specific situation. You are not calling in to some national call center hub getting stuck with the flavor of the day techie who talks too fast and contradicts what the previous techie/colleague told you just two weeks earlier. Slow down a bit and get local help from someone in your community who will be there for you when you need it. The "price" of not calling may be greater than you think!

It was Saturday morning and I was using my laptop when it suddenly shut off. The power indicator that shows that its plugged in didnt work, holding down on the power button didnt work, removing and replacing the batter didnt work, NOTHING. I need my laptop for work and being without it is not an option. I called around to repair stores whom all either wanted $70+ to even take a look or to keep it for a week before even knowing the problem. Then I noticed the online tech support offered by York Computer Repair. VERY sceptically I sent a chat text to see if there was even anyone out there. 10 minutes later my laptop was working like a charm, no concerns, NO COST, no days without the laptop. AMAZING! If they can do this online and anonymously, I will certainly know where to go if online support is not enough to handle bigger proplems. These guys are great!

After a phone call to Walt this morning, I dropped off my tower to York Computer Repair soon after they opened at 9am. I had fallen victim to a scam and needed the hard drive checked out by folks who arent intimidated by the process. :). Walt told me that it would be taken care of and it was. I received a phone call 5 hours later telling me that my computer repair was finished and that I could pick it up later that day. That was even better than the 24-hour turnaround that Walt mentioned earlier. I met Nate during my computer retrieval and asked some questions about the damage done, future security, and regular maintenance. I was listened to and treated respectfully. He even carried the computer to my car. This company has mastered customer service. I am very happy with my first visit.

Went to the Carlisle Rd. location and was helped by Nate. My several year old Toshiba was having screen issues and Nate kindly guided me in the right direction. He was honest and direct about the best options for me. He was sincere enough to tell me that it would be a waste of my money to have them look at it and informed me of the best options for a new laptop in the price range I was seeking, even though I would be purchasing my new equipment elsewhere. Just a great guy, doing business the honest, old-fashioned way in the modern world. Would trust him all off my tech issues and my wallet. Great customer service!

Im a small business owner and I had an emergency problem with my work laptop. Im a consultant so my laptop is my life. Nate was courteous and responsive and walked me through my best/worst case scenario...then he managed to fix my computer in under 5 minutes! After over 4 hours with Dell support (I paid for this service mind you), the best they could come up with was a full system refresh and the loss of all of my data! Unacceptable!! I would HIGHLY recommend York Computer Repair and Nate to anyone in need of honest, quality, local service. Cant beat them!
