Finally found the right salon. Over my first year in DC, I bought several groupons and living social deals to try out salons and find a hairstylist. I like stylists with an idea in their head. They know their craft (head shapes, hair types & amounts, age, coloring of hair and skin). Most of the coupon buys brought me to places that in no way honored the actual price of the service(s) (boosting the cost up a notch for each service, so the coupon client would still pay closer to the outrageous prices one pays downtown anyway). Then, after a mediocre or rushed job, they would immediately hard sell you into the next appt. Nothing that I went to in that first year brought me back for a 2nd visit. I bought services for Salon Luna through a bid on a benefit auction, because I mistakenly thought it was one of a similar name near Dupont Circle. I dont have a car so I have been commuting to have Stephanie do what she does best (I can also speak well for the facial and make-up personnel, as well). When I read something like the negative remarks below, I thought, "delusional." Stephanie is top of her class. I love a stylist I can sit down, talk about what I do like and not, but mostly one who can be trusted to balance her skills with creativity. If you are the type who can let go and let the artist work their craft, then Stephanie es La mujer! I am moving in a week and squeezing in one more visit and dont even need it. All around friendly staff and environment, as well.

I love Salon Luna. Its your average salon in terms of aesthetics, but the stylists are always willing to work with you. Ive only been to Stephanie, and she is fantastic at what she does! Ive sent several friends to Stephanie for hair cuts. The thing I love most about Salon Luna is you can call the day before and theyre willing to do whatever it takes to squeeze you in. I was a committed client to a salon in Olney MD before this and I used to have to call 8 weeks out to make an appointment. Convenience stands at the highest of my priorities when it comes to hair. Id recommend Stephanie at Salon Luna!

I have seen Rosie for highlights and haircut for about 8 years since her many years in Potomac at Zohra Salon. I followed her to Salon Luna. I have not let anyone else touch my hair because she is so talented. The color always comes out perfectly, and she is a great hair cutter. Mostly she listens and never cuts too much and always adjusts to my requests. I now live in West Palm Beach, Florida and travel 4 times a year to see Rosie. I wont let anyone else touch my hair! Also the new salon is beautiful!!

I, too, followed Stephanie from her previous salon, and I totally love her. She is patient, she works with you until you are completely satisfied with your cut and/or color, and she is incredibly friendly and warm. She makes great suggestions, does an awesome job on the cut, and I think shes fantastic with color. Shes all-around a super stylist. I never feel rushed when I come in, and I always enjoy catching up with her. I am so glad I found her, as everyone knows that a great stylist is hard to find!

One of the worst haircuts Ive ever received. After the initial consultation she repeated back to me everything I asked for so I thought she understood what I wanted...however, the haircut turned out nothing like what we discussed. It was the exact opposite cut for my hair type (long, thick and wavy) and about 4 inches shorter than what she said she would do. Ive already booked another haircut elsewhere to repair the damage. Im very sorry I went to this salon!

They do not know how to do hair, and the cut was horrible. When I spoke to the manager she had an attitude, she is completely unprofessional and rude. I was so mad, I wanted to slap her. I have sent some of my older patients to this salon, and I will find them another spot, that blonde *#%@ will regret speaking to me like that..
