How do I rate these guys a big fat zero ? I have been going to this salon for about 2 years and good results with Avisa. When I called for my appointment in January, they said Avisa wasnt there anymore and I saw Nikki. Nikki did a good job, so I was happy and made another appointment in March. I got a call the day before my appointment saying Nikki wasnt working there anymore and offering me a choice between 3 different stylists, only one of which they described as "experienced". Not wanting to have a rookie color my hair, I opted for the "experienced" stylist, Vic. When I arrived for my appointment they said Zack would be doing my hair. Zack told me that the only records on my hair care were from 2 years ago. I explained that I was using blonde to cover my grey and had a concern with one area that seemed to stay too dark. Zack said that they needed to put a different color on that area because my natural color was darker. Zack then went off to other customers and some other nameless guy actually colored my hair. He never asked my preferences on any shades. Zack cut my hair and did a very nice job. After he finished cutting, I said that my roots were a different color from the rest of the hair and he said lets see how it looks after we blow dry. Zack made a point of asking if I usually had highlights done and I said yes. He said that he usually did highlights every other time a customer came in. After the blow dry, it looked ok, but later in the day when I bent down I saw very definitely that my roots were at least 2-3 shades darker than the rest of my hair. That made me really, really glad that I didnt leave any tips like I usually do. I returned to the salon to get it fixed, but both Zack and the other guy at the desk insisted that the roots were darker because they didnt do "highlights" that day. This is just BS to cover the fact that they put the wrong color on my hair. I wont return to this salon and will be looking for other websites to trash them on.

My experience was absolutely AMAZING!!!! I have been to so many salons in Arlington. They all charge $75 for a basic cut & blow dry. I would just question why would i pay $75 for these people to mess up basic layers, framing of the face & blow drying? Finally my friend recommended Jon David. She told me to use Zaid. He was out of town, so I chose Carmen. My Experience: The shampoo girl massaged all the tension out of my head & neck for 5 minutes - wonderful. Carmen took the time to listen and then repeated what I wanted including her opinions. I also showed her a pic of what I wanted. She blow dryed my hair (ok people not half way blow dry & get tired and use a straightner) I mean took the time to blow dry my thick hair. I looked in the mirror it matched the picture PERFECTLY! My hair has never been blowed dryed like this before. Not a hair out of place, silky smooth, with no frizzies. All together $50 bucks!!! If your sick of paying $75 for an ok hair cut I suggest you go to Jon David & ask for CARMEN bc you will walk out kicking yourself for not finding this place sooner!!! I certainly did... by the way Carmen had NOT 1 ounce of attitude; she was so nice & pleasant!

I had an awesome experience here! Making an appointment was easy and when I was running late, I called and the front desk staff was very courteous. When I arrived, the guy at the check-in counter was warm and friendly, and I did not have to wait long for my stylist. I got a haircut from Carmen (recommended from online reviews) and she did a spectacular job; I have found my new stylist! She was friendly, professional, and gave me great recommendations based on what I told her I wanted. She took her time to make sure my hair fit my face really well, and even took the time to explain how to style my hair as she was doing it. I felt fabulous when I left! The pricing here is remarkably inexpensive, and the location is convenient. I highly recommend Carmen and Jon David Salon in general - I will be coming here for all my future haircuts!

DO NOT GO! It was an absolutely aweful experience! First, I came a little early and they acted offended that I was early and were very rude. Then, I showed the stylist 4 pictures of how I wanted my hair to look. I have (or should I say had) brown hair and I just wanted a few balayged highlights towards the bottom. She proceeded to give me a full foil with bleach and then toned my hair slightly and got mad at me when I asked her to make it darker and I showed her the pictures again. She toned my hair again and then told me that she was not going to go any darker, complained about how my hair was weak from the bleach (that I didnt want!), and then tried to cut two inches off of my hair after I asked her not to. My hair is now a botched yellowy blonde "balayge". It was the worst salon experience I have ever had in my life!

The stylist was inexperienced and very slow at highlighting my hair. She was also very busy with other customers and kept leaving to check on them. Because of this, she let the highlights sit in my hair for too long. My hair came out platinum blond even though I specifically asked for natural-looking highlights. When I asked for the highlights to be toned down, I was charged for the toner! I never expected to be charged for a mistake that she made. Overall, the salon is overpriced for the service you get. I would rather pay $20 or $30 more to get a good highlighting job from a professional stylist and a salon with better customer service. I will not return to this salon.

Overall great experience! This was my first time going to Jon David Salon, and I really liked the atmosphere. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. I appreciated the fact that my stylist took the time to give me a cut that works for me; she didnt just go through the motions and do a generic cut. She did leave several times to go check on other clients, but it didnt bother me because she always kept me informed on what she was doing. Im definitely going back and would recommend this salon to anyone!

I went there once and the lady was terrible. It was literally a painful experience to get my haircut. I made the mistake and went back two weeks before my wedding. Needless to say they butchered my hair. It was terrible. The sides were uneven, the front was crooked and she messed up the back. I luckily went to Glynn Jones in Dupont and they salvaged my hair. I will never go back. That place looks nice but the stylists are terrible.

I tried this place based on reviews and couldnt be happier. P.J. gave me the best hair cut/color combo Ive ever had - she gave me a purple balayage that is so subtle that the purple almost looks natural. The cut removed all my dead-ends without losing too much length. I keep getting stopped on the metro with people asking where I had my hair done so I figured I should write a review. Only con: cant tip on card. So bring cash.
