Horrible experiences since July 2014. Getting the wrong mail of other families in our mailbox, getting our packages delivered doors down to other neighbors houses, claiming to have attempted delivery when no one even knocks (someone is always home all day). Today our packages that were delayed by two days because they attempted to deliver them but no one was home even they they arent packages you sign for and could/should have been left at our door step came..... I heard a loud bang and the lady is just whipping them on our drive way. She busted open the box and the bag of dog food. She sees me watching her whip our packages around and gently places the other two down. If you hate your job and cant to do it right then get a new job! I called multiple times since July about this and always get theyre a new employee or-my favorite- she must have been tired and was rushing to get home . What???? Thats an acceptable excuse?? Too bad they have to be the branch that delivers to our house! We dont even know if some of our mail/packages has been left at someone elses house half the time! Ive lived many places and have never had an experience like this with a post office that just cant do its job! Usually the post office just works and your mail and packages are at your (and only your!) house and not all over the neighborhood! This post office is struggling!

No one at this post office was helpful to me at all. Everyone I spoke with gave me the run around for a week as to where my package was, saying they didnt have it in their possession. I was there twice after speaking with someone else from a different location who sent it to Colesville AND spoke with someone who said they had it. Each time I went they said they had no idea what I was talking about and that they did not have my package. The day after the second time I went to pick it up I check my tracking address and they sent it back to the shipper not even 12 hours after I was there trying to pick it up! It was a VERY important package that I needed immediately and now I cant get it back for another week and a half and I have already waited a week playing games with them. Every person I spoke to was extremely rude and got an attitude with me like this was my fault and not their problem and made no attempt to even try and help me figure out where my package could have been (when it was clearly in their possession the entire time seeing as how they shipped it back to the sender). I hope to never have to use their service at this location again.

Lost my keys to my mailbox, went in to order another. I was told it would arrive within 2-3 business days, and that I would get a notice/email that it has arrived. I called after 3 business days and the manager says its still in transit. 3 business days later I called again, the manager says he doesnt know where the order went. I went in personally only to find out that they never sent in the order. The manager sent the order in and asks me to write down my email and phone number and said hell call me as soon as it arrives. Never called. I spent the next 5 weeks calling with no one having an answer for me, me going into the facility and no one knowing what the status of the delivery is, before they finally got my key and told me that I can either go pick it up or wait 3-5 business days before its delivered to my house like they promised 5 weeks before. Crappiest location with the worst liars and service in the industry. People like this, as well as their managers and their managers managers, are a total waste to society and should just quit their jobs and at life as well. I feel sorry for anyone having to associate themselves with this location.

Weve had bad experiences here before (very rude people behind the counter, mail lost after a vacation hold, a carrier who yelled at and hit our mailbox for no apparent reason) but thought maybe things were better when the carrier changed. But no such luck. We were expecting a registered package on Dec 20 with six gifts for others. Two of us were home all day. Instead we got a notice that the carrier attempted delivery and we could request redelivery by calling the main USPS number or going on line. I went on line, requested Dec 22 redelivery. When it didnt come, called main USPS number the next two days and checked on line -- still said Dec 22 delivery. Its Dec 24. I reached the delivery annex and this local PO -- each blames the other and now they say either I pick it up today or it will come Dec 26. (Not that I believe that.) AND --- it doesnt necessarily work to go on line or call USPS -- you have to call the PO directly at a number they dont give you on the notice card. Something needs to change here.

If you were in the Colesville Post Office recently, you may be the victim of identity theft. Monday morning April 14, 2014 less than an hour before lunch time, I was in the Colesville Post Office. 13217 New Hampshire Ave Silver Spring MD is the address. I was sending an overnight parcel to Charlotte NC. The Post Office was packed with customers, presumably mailing tax returns. I paid with a debit card. The card swipe area just didn’t look right. I couldn’t tell how to swipe my card. “How do I place my card in the swipe?” I asked the postal clerk. “It doesn’t matter, just make sure the magnetic strip is on the bottom.” The clerk said. I am 99.99999…% sure my card was compromised at the Colesville Post Office. I only used this card once during the months of March and April. The one and only time I used the card in the months of March and April was in the Colesville Post Office. Days after that postal visit, I discovered my card was used in fraudulent Internet transactions totaling hundreds of dollars.

Amazingly rude, racist and inept. Weve had numerous issues with our mail carriers not delivering mail, mis-delivering mail and not picking up mail. So weve had to complain to the "manager" of this, our local station. His name is Glen Williams. He has a HUGE chip on his shoulder against white people, even to the point of being rude to my 9 year old daughter. He has made us wait up to 15 minutes - we can see him in the back with his feet up, playing on his phone; finally he saunters over, smirks and says, "Ill take care of it." (nothing ever happens) Its worth noting that were usually not the only ones in line that have complaints. Pathetic, and this guy needs to be fired. FWIW, I just called the station to confirm this losers name, and the phone rang for 3 minutes and 38 seconds before someone answered it.

Most nasty and no person Skill person I have to encounted today. My nephew sent package from oversea on Dec. 5th and didnt get it as Dec. 13. My nephew checked with postoffice and told that it arrived to Kenndy airport and discarded because container broken. No one bother to call me even telephone number is right there. I called this office to inquired how they can discard without contact me. Mrs. Wight ( with capital letter W) asked me tracking number. She put me hold 25 minutes and come back ask tracking number again. I said " do I need start again then she read back the number. Before she breath " it is still in the over sea" I told her my newphew can trace back to NY. No it isnt and nothing I can do. And repeat what she just said at least three times. Wow, it is not fact and no effort to help coustmer.
