I recently moved here from another part of Maryland and just started doing business with the local post office. I have a home business and do a lot of shipping. Recently, I was expecting a package, but I did not receive it for several days. When I called the post office to enquire, I was told that they delivered all the packages they had received. When I proceeded to tell the man on the phone that tracking showed it in their possession for three days, I was swiftly interrupted with a "we have nothing else to deliver. Thank you. Goodbye" and a click. This may be a location specific problem, because my previous post office was in a poor neighborhood and it garnered far better customer service than this location, which is located in a relatively wealthy area. Ive also gone into the location to drop off packages with pre-paid labels and that is always an adventure as well with long lines and often moody front counter staff. Had this treatment been dealt by a private business, I would have his supervisor on the phone right now, but the Government post office obviously does not care about service, because they have no mechanism built in to their business model for such complaints and recommendations to drive constant improvement. Tell me again why the post office often finds themselves operating at a loss?

I came into Eldersburg post office Sat, Aug 19, 2017 only to find that they were pretty busy. Must have had 15 customers in line. I witnessed 2 USPS employees working fervently to get the customers the service they expect while another, BETSY, thought it was ok to chat up a neighbor about a lost dog. Seems to me that she is a professional talker and more vested in chatting than working. I am a firm supporter of customer service but why is it that every time I go inside, I find her talking nonsense? Once I sat there for SEVERAL min listening to her rant about how wonderful it was that a customer had laminated an envelope WITH 10 CUSTOMERS IN LINE. Really? What about getting your customers out the door? Taxpayer dollars being wasted!!! As for the other employees, give them a raise!

went in the post office at 4:51, they are SUPPOSED to close at 5:00 . . no customers in there, metal door closed on the area to purchase things, when i went to pay she looked at my cash and said .. can you do a credit card? wow so i did, just to get out of there apparently they already closed their cash drawers, then she proceeds to take out her phone and do the transaction on that, which we had to do twice . . . THEN she starts talking to the girl still there with her and says its BS she has to buy 2 books of stamps now . . meaning my transaction somehow i guess . . THEN she asks me if i want a book of stamps . .so you dont close till 5:00 people . .and when you are packed up and ready to run 10 minutes early dont put it on me .. it was totally ridiculous!

I really like my mail carrier, she is super nice, but the people who sort the mail need to get some glasses! My mail gets sorted with my parents mail and their mail gets sorted in with my mail - we live on the same street, but we have different names! My parents & I have both called about this several times but it is still happening.
