I have never written a negative review in my life, but this place is just absurd. Customer service is horrendous. Why is it that I can see the manager sitting in her office while one person is the clerk with a line of 10+ people? I realize she is the manager but they should hire more window help or she should pop out of her office to assist when the line is more than 5 people. Waiting for 30+ minutes is crazy in general-- let alone trying to do it while pregnant with a toddler in tow! Their inability to locate packages that say they are being held there is ridiculous. Especially when you have to wait in line that long only to find out they cant locate it. And then come back and wait in line AGAIN that long. I have never been in there without having to wait in line for over 20 minutes. God forbid you ask to speak to the manager about anything at all-- the clerks are trained to deflect as hard as they can for her! Why cant they figure out how to run this place more efficiently? I understand longer waits in the summer but you have to hire accordingly! The idea of even stepping foot in this post office is exhausting in itself.

This is what you can expect at the Edgartown Post Office (and Post Offices in general): 1. Tracking says its sitting in the Edgartown post office. 2. Wait in line a half hour (minimum) to be told they "cant find the package". 3. Return later with tracking info, again wait in line a half hour (minimum). 4. They still "cant find the package". 5. Force yourself to remain calm. 6. Politely thank the clerk for trying. 7. Go back home empty handed, reminded that apparently 250 years in operation is not sufficient time to create a system that "can find the package". 8. Repeat.

Ive seen better customer service in a downtown Philly McDonalds, seriously. And besides the awful customer service its like everyday is their first. I could work there by now how many times I have been there. They seem confused about of a lot of questions and do not really care. They told me if I have a package Ill get a note that I have to pick one up, after waiting 3 days for a note I asked and I had 3 packages which was a lot of work for the employee to do poor thing. Id rather deal with Justin Bieber fans then deal with this place.

I absolutely agree with the prior review. This post office clearly could use a lesson in customer service. On one occasion I had an employee be so rude to me that I went to another post office to complete my transaction. I went back in to complain to a manager and it turned out that the employee who was rude to me was the manager. Way to set an example for your other employees. Obviously, there is a couple of disqualified managers and post masters in this location. The chain of command really needs to be reconsidered.

Im not one to complain, I grew up on the island and I understand things can get hectic in the summer. But, the edgartown post office has really failed me this summer. My package has been lost somewhere in their building for 2 weeks now. One woman found the package and called me to pick it up and then when I got there she couldnt find it again!!! I called the shipper and the product I ordered is sold out so if they cannot find my package ever, Im screwed!

I was in and out quickly, and the people there were so helpful! I cant imagine putting up with all the snobs that come in there, people were complaining about how slow it was and they had only been there a couple minutes. But thats Vinyard tourists for ya... its a post office, really people?

These are terrible people, they seem to enjoy seeing other people upset. They have lines out the door. They are disrespectful on the phone, and they ruin the good Marthas Vineyard experience. I had medicine shipped to me and they did nothing to help me find it.

I sent a Priority Mail Express Letter to this post office for a 1 day delivery. After 3 days they finally found the express letter. I will try to get my money back for Express services that I have not received.
