I called mcmahon plumbing thursday morn at 9:30 to get a price to have our Burnham gas boiler to be cleaned. I spoke with Mike, He told me that there is a $99.00 service fee and $149.00 for the cleaning. I told him i would call him back as i was going to get another price. I called back at 11:30. Set up a time for friday at 12:00 noon. I also confirmed the price $250 he had given to me on thursday morning. Once confirmed. I said fine, we will see you at 12:00. Well... 12:00 friday, came and went. I called at 1:30 to see if there was any problem. They said no, he should be there at 3:00 Well 3:00 came and went. They finally showed up at 5:00. Upon taking apart our boiler, the plumber told me that the price of the job was $391.00 not the $250.00 which was ORIGINALLY TOLD told to me, not once but twice by mike the GM I told him that was not the price that was given too me. If i had know it was going to be $391.00. I never would have had them do the work. They removed three or four items from the boiler room, upon getting ready to leave, not only did they not put the items back. They left all of the " CARBON " on the floor. They didnt sweep it up or vaccum it up, they left it there. My wife and i had to clean up all the " CARBON ". The " CARBON " was tracked thruout our basement floor. DO NOT HIRE OR LET THESE PEOPLE ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR HOME.... TOTALLY.. UNTRUSTWORTHY

I contacted this company for a quote to connect a gas line to a grill. Owner explained that he charges an intial $74 "service fee" to evaulate what the job required on top of whatever the cost would be to do the job. Conceptually, I could have agreed to the fee but he refused to provide even an estimate for the cost of the job which he clearly had done before and for which he proceeded to explain during the conversation what would be required to do it. In contrast, the three other plumbers I contacted provided at least an estimate and explained in a professional manner the work and potential associated charges. This guys "take it or leave it" attitude in addition to the refusal to provide any estimate raised concerns as to whether I would be charged a fair price for the work as well as hinted the likely unpleasant experience it would be to work with this company. So, I did not choose this company to do the work.

I had a new stove delivered to my home this week and I was in need of someone to come disconnect the gas line from our old stove, and reconnect to the new one. I did a Google search for plumbers in the West Roxbury area, and this was the second listing. I called over and had a friendly conversation with the man who answered the phone, he let me know they would call me the following day to set up an appointment. Anxious to get the new stove up and running, I agreed to wait. About an hour later, I received another call from the company, and they let me know they could send someone over that evening. Withing 20 minutes two men arrived at my house and set up my new stove, and even removed the old one. They were very forthcoming with the cost of the project and were unbelievably friendly. I was extremely please with my experience with this plumbing company and wouldnt hesitate to call again if we ever need anything.

McMahon Plumbing + Heating had me at hello! We were looking for a plumber for my sister who lives in Dedham. We needed to have some work done and also needed a plumber we could call in emergencies. Julie answered the phone and was lovely, sweet and funny. She had a plumber out to my sisters house that afternoon. He needed to come back the next day with someone to help him - it turned in to be a 2 person job - and they came back the next day. My sister loved them and they took care of what needed to be done and now she and her family have a plumber to call if need be. We could not be happier with the people at McMahon and their service. Its refreshing to find a company that clearly enjoys what they do and helping people. Were thrilled to have a company we can call that takes pride in their work and that employs really nice people.

Had an appointment for a plumber for 12:30PM for a kitchen faucet replacement, nobody came and nobody had the courtesy to call that they are going to be late. At 1:15PM I called their office and was told that they are just cleaning up on the last job they were doing, will eat lunch and will be in my house at 2:30PM. At 2:37PM the office person I talked to earlier called to tell me they are just leaving and wont be here for another 30minutes. I told the guy that I am cancelling the job request because I have been waiting for more than 2 hours and cannot wait any longer. I havent even finished talking yet and he interrupted me to say "OK bye!".Not even a feeble apology for my wasted time! There is no way I am calling that company again. Ill stick with Winters, they are a little more expensiven but have always been reliable and respectful.

We had a family crisis when our water heater stopped producing hot water. I called McMahon Plumbing & Heating that morning and they arranged to come to my home a few hours later. Much to my surprise they were there even sooner, in just two hours. John, McMahons plumber, diagnosed the problem as a burned out heating coil in my hot water heater. An hour later he had the water heater working like new, saving me the substantial cost of a brand new electric water heater in the process. I was very pleased. I would highly recommend McMahon Plumbing and will use them for all my familys plumbing issues in the future. Thanks for a job well done!

McMahon Plumbing had been servicing our boiler since we moved into our house 3 years ago. When we became eligible for the Mass Save early boiler replacement program, we got three quotes for a combination unit, which were all within the same ballpark. We chose McMahon for the installation, and were very pleased with the professional service and workmanship they provided. They were very friendly, and were able to schedule the installation and help with the paperwork so that we met Mass Saves October 30 deadline for the rebate.

We had a water tank that burst and flooded our basement. We contacted McMahon Plumbing and they arrived at our home very quickly. We had to replace our hot water heater and boiler. We upgraded to the instant tankless water heating system. We were impressed with the service and the professional installation of the system. We look forward to saving money with the instant tankless system and will definitely use McMahon Plubming in the future for any plumbing needs. Great job guys.

I had a small job a few days before Thanksgiving. The handle in my shower broke off and I had neither the tools nor the parts to fix it. My household was about to double in size. McMahon plumbing was willing to make time in the schedule for a small repair. They came when they said they would, and they communicated with me throughout the process. The men who came to my home were courteous. I was, however, a bit shocked by the cost - the reason for the drop of one star.
