Review Update: This morning the owner of our company received an email from Dan Oliphant and after some back and forth they ended up speaking on the phone. Dan was very apologetic and, had we not already taken care of the situation, would have sent a team to get the cubicles assembled correctly. Dan later called me personally to apologize and is making arrangements to get an identical replacement for a computer monitor that was damaged. Everybody has bad days, but how we handle them is the most important part. Dan took charge of a bad situation and did the best he could to make it better, knowing now how this company responds to their customers has changed my opinion of them and is reflected in my new 4-star rating. Thank you, Dan, for taking responsibility for the situation and doing the right by your customer. If we ever need to move again well call you. Original (1 Star) Review: We recently hired Piece by Piece to relocate our office from the first floor of the building we lease in to the third. Boy was I disappointed. Things started out well-enough. They dismantled things and moved them in an efficient manner and all seemed to be going well until it came time to reassemble the furniture theyd taken apart. Thats when the wheels fell off! At one point during the move I entered one of the offices that was supposedly finished and went to adjust the desk only to find the leg held on by a single screw. Upon pointing this out to the guy in charge I was told that they didnt have enough screws to assemble the desk properly. They sure had enough screws before they were moved I wonder what happened to them. Not satisfied with this answer I went into my supply cabinet and pulled out a box of extra screws which they then installed somewhat begrudgingly. Sadly that wasnt the end of our issues. With our new space we only needed two of our three cubicles set up after being relocated. When checking over the work excuses were made for the uneven desk surfaces due to differing heights on the leveling feet. Call me crazy but isnt that exactly why they are called leveling feet, to be used to level the furniture?! Fed up with the whole affair I let them get away with this excuse. Sadly I found out at the risk of great bodily injury that they didnt even assemble what they did properly when one of them fell apart with me under it! Thank God my buddy was working with me and could come to my rescue. Half of the screw holes were empty, the arms were not properly seated in the supporting walls, and they could not even be bothered to take out the top drawer of the pedestals to secure the desks to them! To add insult to injury even with the parts from the third cube to draw upon there were kickplates missing from the wall panels in key locations yet when I set about fixing their poor assembly I found they hadnt even taken the care to assemble them intelligently! The missing kickplates and end caps were buried in the middle of sections of wall panels or attached to walls that stood against the walls of the room. Clearly nobody was interested inn taking pride in their work. The worst part? While remedying the situation I found collections of screws stashed all over the place inside drawers. It wasnt that they couldnt do a good job its that they chose not to. Im all for equal opportunity employment but for a job like moving you need to be able to communicate with the clients. We had a team of three with two who seemed to be immigrants who didnt understand English very well to the point that I had to draw them a picture of how the cubicles needed to face to get the point across (after explaining it three times) and a millennial who was ostensibly there to serve as supervisor/interpreter but apparently had no interest in actually ensuring quality work be done and instead made excuses for shoddy work. Shame.

I dont move often (every 30+ years) but this experience was excellent. I moved in late August from a 6 room home to a 4 room apartment with at least 35 boxes and 20 pieces of furniture including sofa, bed, dressers, wing chairs, office furniture, and fragile items, sports equipment, gardening equipment, rugs. Three men (energetic and strong) arrived with their truck on time, packed the truck in less than 2 hours, drove to the new location (same town), and unloaded and place the contents in less than 2 hours, including having to "portage" the contents of the truck down a long driveway which was unable to accommodate their truck. The entire project was completed in less than the 4 hour minimum, and all arrived unscathed and intact. Thank you Piece by Piece for getting my new life off to a good start!

Piece by Piece Movers did an exceptional job moving us from Brookline to Newton. Their estimated cost was very reasonable, while the actual cost came in under, thanks to the stellar crew that showed up to do the heavy lifting. These guys were outstanding: clean cut, buff, soft spoken, impressively efficient, upbeat, polite, friendly and careful. They loaded two full trucks worth of boxes and furniture in record time and without a single ding to our walls or door frames -- and no breakage! (How is that even possible?!) They wrapped each piece of furniture then carried items down stairways & through tight spaces effortlessly. Honestly I was relieved and completely impressed. Its a pleasure to leave a glowing review for Piece by Piece Movers because we are so very grateful for the A++ job they did!

This was our second move with Piece by Piece (first was from an Apartment to Single Family Home, this one was from Single Family to larger Single Family) - both were executed flawlessly. My wife and I actually looked forward to working with Piece by Piece on our move (who can say that about their moving company?!) because they make the entire process so effortless. The crew we had, led by Jacob, was fantastic...we couldnt have asked for a better group of hard-working guys. Each and every one of them was kind, respectful, helpful, and bent over backwards to ensure everything was where it needed to be and re-setup as it had been in the previous home. Thank you Piece by Piece for making our move as stress-free as possible!

The most competent movers you could ever imagine. We had a huge piece of furniture to move. They calculated the best way to remove it from house using their brain figuring power before even moving it. No bumps into corners of walls and no irritations. They were bright and efficient and an absolute pleasure to communicate with. No complaints. Only rave reviews. Showed up on time and kept in touch prior to moving day. We had Andre and Demis. Both fabulous people.

Piece by Piece Movers did an excellent job moving my uncle from his home of 40 years into an apartment. They were extremely aware of the sensitivity of such a move, and the packing and moving crew were sweet, hard-working and professional. The move was super efficient in terms of time, and came in under the estimate. Highly recommend.
