Ive been living in the area for a while now, while keeping an old, beat up car alive. Having been to a few other shops before, I can say for certain that J&L is the best there is. If you are here looking for a shop in the area, stop searching. Go to J&L. They ALWAYS have the most reasonable prices, and the turnaround time is out of control. Sometimes it seems like they can do a major repair faster than it takes the dealership down the street to do an oil change. More than once Ive had my car in and out in the same day (even afternoon!). As far as the prices go, Ive called half a dozen shops in the area before for certain jobs and most of the time nobody can even come close. Even if J&L was a little more expensive (which Im not sure it has been yet), I wouldnt hesitate to bring my car in anyway. I have never been treated with more respect at another shop. I am called with updates, and they are upfront with what has to get done. Getting a car fixed can be stressful, and they do such a great job of making sure youre taken care of. Id recommend J&L to all of my friends in the area. I mean, Ill probably keep coming even if I move away. I dont want to have to deal with another shop again.

I have been bringing my car to J and L Auto for a little over a year now. I was a bit hesitant at first to see a mechanic I did not know personally but I was recommended to Jeff by a friend. The service is impeccable. About a year ago, I brought my car to a couple different mechanics and the problem persisted. When I finally brought it to Jeff, he spent hours and hours looking at my car, assuring me he would find the problem. After researching the issue for a couple days, he discovered the problem and charged me for much less time in labor than he actually spent on my car. Jeff also installed a new alternator in my car approximately 6 months ago. I was traveling for work in Connecticut and my car just puttered out - apparently because of the alternator, it was a lemon. I got the car fixed in CT by another mechanic and spoke to Jeff a few days later about the dud alternator. He promptly told me that he would refund me the price of the alternator he put in and handed me the check when I stopped in. A stand up guy! I absolutely recommend J&L Auto to anyone having car problems. 100% honest, reliable, and friendly.

I was naive. I have been going to J & L auto for about 6 months now and have had to visit quite a bit within that time. I wrote a review not long ago about how trustworthy I thought these guys were and how happy I was to find them, but I need to retract that statement now. Last week I brought my car in that had died. After inspecting in they gave me the whole run down on how many things were wrong with the car and that it would be $1,000. I wanted a second opinion from the dealer...turns out, all the car needed was a jump. I called to tell J & L how upset I was and that I really trusted them. They half heartedly apologized, assured me that the owner would call and work something out, and here I am a week later and havent heard a thing. They simply cant be trusted and its a real shame.

Jeff is great and trustworthy mechanic. He understands the problem very well and gives the best solution.Service is really great and the price is the BEST.I had an issue and other places told me that it will cost me more that $550, But Jeff got it fixed in just under $80 with parts and labor. No one can do this better than him. Very honest and excellent mechanic. Im going there for around a year now .. and every-time he I came out WOWED. He is trustworthy and excellent mechanic.. and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him. A++

Highest Possible Recommendation! I live in Cambridge which is a bit of a trek from J & L Auto, but I would never think of taking my car anywhere else. Jeff is the absolute best mechanic I have ever had. Once I had an issue with my car that the wrecker said would cost me about $1,500. Jeff fixed it for less than $200 and when I tried to add some money to my bill he refused saying he "Just did his job." Great mechanics and even better people. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Being a busy Real Estate professional I am always on the road, so it is very important for me to have my car on the road with no problems running smoothly. I have to trust my auto repair shop and at J and L auto I found a home for life. They are accommodating, trustworthy and fast. I was so glad I found this place! Although I had figured out what I needed done, they did a free look and gave me a quote. I found the parts myself and they charged me a fraction of the cost to put them in. I was very satisfied with the work and the time it took. They are friendly and caring people. They really do work with you and make sure you have a positive experience. I would recommend them to everyone!

Thank you Jeff & Co for taking care of our cars! Things come up all the time and we are very hesitant to take our cars to the dealerships because of the astronomical bills we have come to expect. Fortunately weve been able to rely on Jeff and his crew to get things done for us!

Bought a replacement low profile tire. Big store would charge me almost the price of the tire to put it on. Jeff charged me half of that price and did it quick. I forgot to pass one piece of critical Information but he got it right anyway. Highly recommend.
