Ive been a customer at the Allen Park Ulta Salon on and off for six years now. In between, I have had my hair done on business trips, at some prestigious salons in primarily Oakland County, and with the exception of one salon in an EU country, my experience at the Ulta Allen Park Salon is overall the best. Throughout those years, I have gone through three hairdressers only due to their having left employ (in fact they relocated elsewhere). Regardless, I am still very happy with my new hairdresser, and the high level of service at Ulta. Most notable is that I have NEVER had any unnecessary treatments, styles, or suggestions given to me, e.g. at a well known salon of which I will not mention here, one hairdresser went ahead and cut my hair against my wishes (even though I begged him not to). My hair is still recovering - basically he hacked it into different lengths...and I am still recovering from it. No one at Ulta has ever suggested nor done to me ANY service I did not want, and they always try very hard to get the EXACT color that I have wanted - always. I also would like to mention that although a corporate salon, the company makes a tremendous effort to continuously train the hairdressers in new techniques, products and makes sure to keep the staff current with their knowledge. My biggest complaint regarding Ulta is that The Keratin Complex made by Coppola is no longer carried and this puts me in a position where I still need to go elsewhere to find someone to do this straightening procedure. I have tried 4 other types of Keratin straighteners - Kerastraight, that is used at Ulta is a waste of money, since it does not straighten very curly hair very well, and leaves a fair amount of frizz by the third day. Otherwise, for color, styling and professional treatment, The Ulta located in Allen Park is a very professional enterprise. I have learned my lesson, and I will stay with them for all my color and styling needs so long as I live anywhere in THE TRI-COUNTY AREA!!!!!

Ive been a high paying ulta customer and member for 10 years now. I have to say. I have been so disappointed my last 3 visits at this Allen Park store. Ive had very rude customer service. Especially from a guy named Silas. He seemed like he was in a bad mood and didnt want to be there. I came in on my Birthday. I was in a great mood! I spent $58.00 and asked for my free birthday gift. He was giving me an attitude for no reason at all. He said that I need the email. Well Ulta never sent me an email. Fluke thing. I get them every year. I said well I didnt get the email. He said well I dont know what to tell you. $58 dollars. I asked him to ask his manager who happened to be standing right next to him, and his manager told him to tell me to call Ulta customer service. Why didnt Silas know this ? Long story short. I called customer service and they sent me my birthday email. Silas gave me the harshest attitude and nearly ruined my day. I complained to the manager how he was treating me, and all he said was that he will talk to him. Hello??? You need to apoligize and accomodate your customer. I was very disappointed in the manager as well. I received no apologies from either of them. I would have rather had an" Im so sorry" rather then a few lousy make up samples. Never again will I visit this store. People need to put a smile on their faces and serve their high paying customers rather then give attitudes. Thats all you see now a days and its sad.

Had the worst experience here, employees are friendly, but its not enough to make up for what happened. My mom had asked for gray ends with a darker color on the top to cover the streaks that went high. The stylist said she just had to separate some of the hair that wasnt bleached so the bleached wouldnt get damaged (hardest part probably) and bleach it. We thought it would turn out great considering its ULTA... and it was a nightmare. Her hair looked green and yellow and purple. We told her we werent satisfied and she said shed fix it but my mom didnt trust her with her hair anymore. She had stains on her forehead and her hair looked like if it almost had mold. The next morning we went to complain to the manager and she reassured that her employee would fix my mothers hair and get it right the next time, to just cover up for work somehow. My mom went her second appointment and there was NO improvement, only thing that changed was that her hair started falling out now, her ends were split, and her hair ended up feeling like if she had glue on it. So today we went again and said we no longer wanted to let her try to fix it because it was already too damaged. My mom is going to have to cut it now after how long her hair was. They refunded my moms money but THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE from ANY salon.

Im very disappointed in the customer service at this location. I live in Macomb county and went to the Allen Park location twice. Staff is very rude.. I was literally shocked at the lack of customer service when i was checking out with the cashier. I was greeted by the cashier hollering at me from the front end saying " You all set?" when i finally realized she was speaking to me and she was ready. i walked up, and she turned around and starting talking to another customer and price checked items for her. i was not greeted with an hello or ANYTHING. She told me my total and ended the transaction with handing me my receipt.. I was shocked, usually the girls at Ulta and Sephora are so bubbly and nice. I said, "Thank you, have a great day!" Since she didnt say two words to me. Maybe that helped her!

Ish did a wonderful job with makeup for my daughters wedding, but Im extremely disappointed with the other service I paid for. It was $35 extra to have eyelashes applied by one of the female stylists, and they looked great. HOWEVER, my lashes were applied at 2:30 on Sunday and all of them had fallen off by 11 am Monday. I had only gently washed my face with water, no cleanser, patted dry, and had done nothing that should have dissolved the glue. Im very unhappy with this outcome and feel the lashes should have lasted at least a week.

I have been going to Ulta for years, it is one of my favorite stores. I recently just started coming to the Allen Park location more often. The staff is so sweet especially Melina! She is fabulous and doesnt tell you a product to use that she personally wouldnt use or doesnt think is good. I have recently come in and she hasnt been there that often so I will leave because I only trust her to sell me things. She is amazing! Thank you Melina for your Amazing customer service!

I used to be a big fan of ulta, but I would say maybe the last year or so, the customer service has not been good. This one (Allen Park) I recently attended, and I wasnt greeted when I walked in. Nor was I greeted when I checked out of the line. Some of the workers, look as if they would rather be doing anything other than their job. I probably wont be going back anytime soon.. Tip: Work on customer service skills, if not we (customers) will go where we feel appreciated..
