Average at best. Similar price and timing for repairs as big box stores and their competition. Nothing extraordinary here, but they do have an opportunity to improve 1.) Treat customers with compassion...we arent techies like you and dont even know if we are describing things correctly or asking the right questions, which is where we need the most guidance from you; 2.) Provide customers with repair status directly on your website via invoice number; 3.) Get away from saying we dont know how long it will take...figure it out as most repairs fall under two catagories...common or unique; 4.) Dont ever let a one week estimate become three or four weeks...ever; 5.) Call the customer with updates frequently...dont make them call you repeatadly; 6.) Offer tips and ideas for smooth re-starts after service; 7.) Start-up the customers PC when they pick it up to ensure they understand what was repaired and what else remains to be done (re-install software, security, etc); 8.) E-Mail a post-repair survey to obtain direct customer feedback; 9.) Attend some enterprenureal workshops to understand what else the competition does better...like all of the above). Good Luck. I might use them again.

My laptop would not startup propertly, It keep looping at loading the icons. I droped it off tuesday about noon and paid the priority rate to have it fixed. I was told it would be 2 hrs of tech time and would be next on the bench. (this made me belive it would be that day or the next) It took 4 days! There were no virus, no hardware problems. They backed up my data restored the computer to beging and put my data back. - that could have been done in 1 day easily. They could not upgrade to windows 10 - even though that is what they said we be faster & better. They can not say it wont happen again. They require you to provide a recovery disk, or charge $25 to have one made. Total cost was $215. And no work computer for 4 days. when I called for updates they were rude and had no info other than work on it. I wont be going back.

I called today about a keyboard issue I had for my laptop. I thought it would be an easy fix (it looked like one), but apparently I didnt communicate very well and was told it would take at least an hour to fix, I probably wouldnt have it by the end of their work day, and it was gonna cost me $95. The gentleman who I was talking to (Tony maybe) told me to bring it on in and they could get a better idea of my problem. I immediately went in, showed them what had happened, and my hour-long, $95 fix turned into a two second one. Nick, who worked on my computer, fixed it on the spot and even showed me how to do it myself if it happened again. On top of that he didnt charge me a dime. Thank you Computer Alley for saving my time, money, and GPA! Will definitely be returning if needed.

Ive come to rely on these people for help in learning solutions to compute issues I face. Because I buy my stuff there I dont mind calling for advice on technical issues that come up occasionally and they offer the advice freely. These people are knowledgeable on the state of computing and are therefore able to suggest cost-effective solutions. Over the years I have seen nearly zero staff turnover. Nick and Tony have been there as long as I have been visiting the store--almost ten years. Earlier I had been doing my shopping at a computer store in Ypsilanti but stopped going there when they told me to find a part I needed for a chassis they sold me by doing a google search. They just didnt have time for me. The folks at Computer Alley are dedicated to the craft.

Nic Heinig is the best! He has been SO helpful to me on a number of occasions. He is knowledgeable, professional, pleasant, and has performed a few “miracles” on my behalf when it looked like there was no hope. We all know how frustrating and frightening it can be when your computer is not performing properly and deadlines loom. This place puts Best Buy Geek Squad to shame, hands-down, as well as AT&T’s technical support. Nic consistently goes above and beyond - and never disappoints. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this business if you seek excellent customer service combined with top-notch professionals who aim to please the customer as well an opportunity to purchase computers, parts, and other related gadgets and supplies. Computer Alley gets my vote EVERY TIME!!

OK, you can get components cheaper on line, and you will likely find a wider array of products in box stores or via the web. But what you wont there is hands-on experience and advice with building and maintaining computers as well as sage advice on how and which components best work together at a reasonable and fair price. In other words, lots of intangibles that you wont get with the two sources above. And if it doesnt work out, they stand behind their work, swapping out components as needed or taking back items that wont work well. Added bonus: they accept and recycle old computer and monitor components. And if theyre not too busy, theyll chat with you about the latest in computer technology and future trends.

The staff at Computer Alley are very knowledgeable and helpful. They know how to build, troubleshoot and fix computers. They have built two fast CAD machines for me so far, and I have been very happy with the results. They were able to help me select hardware components which would work well together and they optimized the overall system for the amount of money in the budget. When some of the software that I loaded onto the machines had problems, Computer alley gave their full and immediate attention to helping me resolve the problems. These guys are great; light years ahead of the big box stores and, in my experience, they provide better service than the OEMs like Dell.

I am writing this to express my great pleasure of doing business with Computer Alley. I called and spoke to Tony and asked him if he had a few minutes to answer a couple questions for me. Tony was very professional and had the experience to not only answer my questions, but to give me several options on how to take care of my concern with my wired/wireless system. He even had what i needed pulled and sitting at the store when i arrived which made for a fast and convenience experience. I will be back for all my computer needs.

Wow, what a great find! Not only is everyone I talked with on the phone very polite and knowledgeable, but the service I got on my computer today was awesome. My Mac works better than ever, and its an old one. Alex, who worked on my computer, answered all my questions and fixed everything above and beyond my expectations. Ill recommend Computer Alley to anyone I know whos looking for a store they can trust.

I called with some complicated questions about external storage, backup, and transferring. Jason took the time to speak at length with me over the phone until I had a good understanding of what I needed to do. How rare is that today? And on a Friday afternoon no less. Thank you! I might have a Mac, but I can still buy external products from you and I promise to do so! :)
