Ive worked ten years in IT, and never had my computer repaired here (I know how to do that on my own). Ill sometimes stop in for miscellaneous parts or cables that I need in a bind, and dont want to wait for online shipping. Their prices are reasonable for a brick-and-mortar retail store, and Ill get HDMI or USB cables for half the price from a big box store. The guys working there are generally VERY knowledgeable about computers related things (ive even learned a few things from them from time to time). While Ive come to know a few of the staff members, there are some new faces that sometimes get hung up on some of my more specialized questions. All-in-all, Ill generally get some quality responses. Im not sure how their computer repair service is (since I fix my own stuff), but I wonder about the legitimacy of some of the bad reviews. I was in the store once and heard an older woman scream at the poor guy behind the counter because he wanted to charge her for a second repair. I dont know the details, but it sounded like she infected her system with viruses after having it repaired (apparently they reinstalled windows, which means the virus was 100% the womans fault). Everything the guy behind the counter said was on point, but the woman kept saying he was scamming her. Ive encountered this myself a few times with one of the companies Ive worked for. A user will have an expectation, but that expectation is impossible to meet (or just outright impossible to do). For me, I worked in a corporate setting where we didnt charge our own employees, and they all knew me and my team knew our stuff. I feel really bad for these guys, because very recently, I saw another case like that woman I mentioned earlier. From one IT guy to another, I feel ya. Its a thankless job, and most people dont seem to realize how much work it can be to explain very abstract concepts to people with no background knowledge on the subject. In all, its a great little shop thats near my area. Good prices, and they even carry some older stuff that you cant find anywhere else. I dont know about their repair service first hand, but throughout the years, Ive heard neighbors and friends say they do a decent job. These guys are legit.

I took in my 2 year old HP for a hard drive replacement. The drive was replaced but the store called and told me that they could not load Windows 8 back on. They told me that my motherboard or CPU was defective and they could not find one as my computer was fairly new. They suggested I call HP where I learned that factory installed software needs recovery disks to reinstall the operating system and any store should know this. I ordered the disks from HP and took them to the store where they kept on insisting that this would not fix the problem but they would try it. Guess what, it worked. I feel for the $100 they charged me for replacing the drive (the cost of the drive was separate) they should have a little better understanding of the market trends especially with the popular brands and not give bad and costly advice to customers. A couple of weeks later the store called and said it was a genuine mistake and they had not encountered this problem before. They apologized and refunded $50 on the labor.

Wow, not very impressed with this store at all... I took my Acer Aspire in to have the keyboard and touchpad lid to be replaced as they function when they like. I have the laptop insured through Square Trade. Now, the thing with Square Trade is, they wont reimburse you for parts that are malfunctioning on your laptop that you can replace easily. You HAVE to take it into a computer store... Which, is time consuming. Took it to Canton Computers and they took over two weeks to figure out what I had originally told them was malfunctioning. In the end, they couldnt get the parts from Ebay as its cheaper for the consumer (me) and they werent able to replace the Touchpad screen because they only buy parts from their parts store. The keyboard itself I could have replaced for only 50 dollars and 30 minutes of my time... Anyway, not pleased and I now have to fork over 40 dollars for something I already knew and two weeks wasted. If your like me, I hate having my time wasted.

My CPU fan had recently died and I was looking to replace it. I called Canton Computer to find out if they had a socket 775 CPU fan and I was told, "Uh. Yeah, we have CPU fans." When I asked for the second time if they had a "socket 775" CPU fan, the employee that answered the phone had to "ask a manager. " After a few minutes (I assume the manager had to look up the part in their inventory because he too was befuddled by my inquiry) the supposed manager got on the phone and said that they had the part I was looking for. I drove there and they did NOT have the CPU fan that I was looking for. Long story short, I would not trust these people with my computer if I were you, because they don’t even know the names of the parts that run them.

I have been shopping here for all my computer parts and even if your not sure on what you may need for your computer, the guys at canton computers can guide you through buying parts that are at the upmost best quality. When you enter a place like Best Buy the atmosphere seems very pushy and the sales try to push you things that are un-necessary like mousepads, headphones and a bunch of garbage. Canton computers might push virus protection if your computer doesnt have anti-virus because thats something that most people need to avoid viruses. Go to these guys their just great!

Ive had the opportunity to work with Canton Computers on several occasions. They cleaned up my PC and I was very happy with the cost and results. When I needed a new PC I bought one of their refurbished models. They transferred the files from my old PC to the new one and it all worked out well. When my wife was ready to get rid of her laptop I suggested a refurbished PC. We found one with the features we needed and again they transferred the files and nothing was lost. No pressure when I visited them and they were very good with any follow-up issues.

I have been going to Canton Computers for years. I have come to know the owners and I trust these guys. They are the only computer store I know that treats the customer right. I have finally stopped repairing my friends computers and now send them over to Canton Computers for better service than what I was offering, and have taken my own laptop over when the keyboard failed and one system over for a virus problem. Thank you Dave, John, Jason and everyone at Canton Computers for taking care of my family and friends.

Honestly I had a very nice experience I needed a new heat sink for my CPU and they guy at the front counter knew exactly what it was, he took me to a product that was better than what I had and would work better and didnt try to sell me anything else even though I asked him if there was any other way I could improve my computer. The installation was only 15$ and was done in under an hour. I was very pleased an will recommend to everyone.
