While having my hair done here I overheard a stylist making disparaging comments about those who receive mental health services. When I politely confronted her regarding the matter she insisted shed meant no harm/said nothing wrong. Eventually she professed an empty apology and continued to claim she did not know why her comments would be perceived as offensive. When I persisted that they were indeed so, and cited examples she offered discounted services as a consolation. While this was a kind gesture of amends it was not what I was looking for. When going to a salon I believe it is important to be in a positive environment, this just didnt do it for me. People go to these types of places to feel better about themselves and with stylists expressing such negativity it was difficult to leave here feeling beautiful!

I am looking to get my hair cut for the first time in a long time. Because I am biracial, I have a different texture of hair, and to be safe, I gave Salon 35 a call to ask if they had any experience with dealing with ethnic hair. The woman I talked to proceeds to laugh at me and informed me that they do not "do ethnic hair here " and continues to laugh. A simple no would have sufficed. To say that I was appalled would be an understatement. I have a roommate who gets her hair cut here, and after telling her what happened, she will not be returning. I went to Oakland University and will be telling everyone that I know that goes there of my encounter. Maybe you should think about your business before insulting your potential clients. Better luck next time.

I came here and saw Vicki H. She did an amazing job on my hair. Ive been getting so many compliments and I felt so confident in her ability. She really talked me through what we were going to do and gave me ideas since I went in there just wanting change, not with much of an idea. It was an awesome experience and it didnt take half as long as most of my salon visits! Ill be going back

Highly disappointed with the service... Firstly I was told my hair would be permanently straightened and after the procedure the results werent satisfying so they blame you for not having the kind of texture and most of all they just give up on you once you pay them do unprofessional the staff needs to be a little more polite

A really nice place. Ive had bed experiences with hair salons hackIng my hair but Mary jo really made me feel comfortable although I was extremely nervous I had to go really short to start the process of what I want in the end but I love it Ill just have to get used to it being really short

Highly recommend. The staff are awesome - Bonnie at the reception desk is always friendly and cheerful! The results on my hair services are the best I have ever found. Vicki H does amazing color and style - you wont be disappointed!

Salon 35 is GREAT! Donna and her staff are so friendly- I will ONLY get my hair cut here. I would recommend this salon to everyone- the prices are fair and the staff is AWESOME. I wont trust anyone else to cut my hair :)

Dude here, the walk-in was great, reasonably priced, friendly staff, a+. The strip mall where this place is located has a starbucks, sushi, dry cleaning and UPS... one stop for all of your errands.

Ralph has been cutting my hair for 20-some years. Hes at Salon 35 Tuesdays and Wednesdays after 5 pm. He does a great job on both mens and womens hair.
