Bought a water heater from Crooks a few years back, and the pilot light wont stay lit. I have paid for several service calls, coming in at around $90 each time to come in and light a pilot. It happened again today, and my husband had some words with the woman on the phone, who claimed that we owed them the $90 from a previous visit. My husband said he had paid for and gotten a receipt. Suddenly, she admitted that it was a clerical error, and the money had been received. He was running out the door for work, and told the woman he had to go, and hung up with her. She claims he was rude to her for hanging up. I called to see where the service person was, was just refused service for missing a payment, which was resolved awhile back. I was told the owner "didnt feel like chasing down his money" They never called me to say that no one was coming, and I waited around for 2 hours for someone who wasnt even coming. Beware of Crooks, their name tell you all you need to know.

When I had a problem one Friday afternoon they came out the same day to troubleshoot. Found out I needed a new furnace so they gave me a quote on three different furnace. The prices were very reasonable (furnaces are expensive) for what the job was. I picked a furnace and they said they would install it Monday when it was in stock. Sure enough they were at my door Monday morning. The installation took the better part of the day but my heat worked so I was happy. The installation team did deviate from the quoted install a little. Ran the furnace vent out the front of the house instead of through the chimney like the guy who qouted me said they would. Other then that everything went great and I was impressed with their work. I got the bill a couple weeks later and it was too the dollar what I was quoted. I would use this company again.

My experience with A.W. Crooks has been excellent. When I needed help with an emergency, there were there. When I had a problem with my water, they fixed the problem. Not only do I love my water, I have less maintenance on my part. When I thought I needed a new sump pump, they found the true problem. They made adjustments and it still works 6 months later. They could have just put a new one in and made money. But they didnt. They didnt even charge me for the house call! Having a plumber that you can trust and be there when you need them gives me tremendous piece of mind. I recommend them with a great deal of confidence. Dr. William L. Freemire

Only drawback to service I at once observed was that drop cloths used should have had waterproof backing as well as the absorbent top surface. Not having the waterproof backing allowed my tenants carpeting to become wet in spots and would have been worse if she hadnt put down her own throw rugs, which she had to then launder. I think the change in drop cloths would greatly improve resultant clran up. Otherwise your serviceman was polite, professional and efficient and did an excellent cleanup job.

The work was great, but the mess left behind was excessive. Ive had plumbing work done in other homes Ive owned and this was the worst. I had a leak in the shower fixed and he left the entire bathroom with chunks of material in the tub and surrounding area. The access hole he had to cut left dry wall dust all over the bedroom he had to go through. With all the work I expected a little clean up but nothing like what I found. The work was great, but the clean up was poor.

They were very quick to respond and did a nice job of resolving our problem. They also reworked their schedule to get us taken care of immediately. Chip was very friendly and explained what needed to be done very clearly. Charge was very fair for work completed. Would not hesitate to call them again.

Crooks does awesome work. The most recent was a simple drain repair. They were timely, efficient and fairly priced. In the past they installed a tankless water heater and substantially updated the bathroom plumbing during a remodel. Excellent work and great customer service!!!!

They have been aweful. Today they were supposed to come finish our shower after 2 weeks of bs. Never showed up and wouldnt answer the phone. Wouldnt recommend. Edit: forgot to add they trashed our house
