So, we had a problem with one of our toilets today. After some research, we figured out that it was likely the fill valve. Being as though we are not handy ourselves, we thought we should just call a plumber. I went ahead and called Roto-Rooter at 10:30 this morning. I was excited to hear that they could come out to my home between 4 - 8p.m. tonight. After waiting all day, which I was okay with, they did not even show up until 9:30 p.m. At this point, I was still okay. The plumber took a look at our toilet and told us that we were correct. The problem was in fact our fill valve. It needed replacing. Now, given as though we had already done our research, we knew the cost of a fill valve at Home Depot was only 3 for $12. When the plumber proceeded to give us our estimate to replace this, we were astounded to hear his quote was $250. We asked him why the price? He told us that the fill valve would cost $30 ish. We told him about Home Depots price and he said it was because of their markup at Roto-Rooter. Then he told us that the hourly rate would be $219. We asked him how long it would take for him to replace this fill valve, and he told us approximately 15 minutes; Yet we still had to pay the entire $219. That cost is ridiculous! First of all, they marked up the cost of the part by at least 100%, then they charge a doctors hourly rate just to replace this. I said absolutely not of course.....not gonna lie, my actual words were not as nice. I will never do business with Roto-Rooter again. They are only out to take advantage of people.

The call, placed Friday at 9am, with a promised arrival time window from 11am-1pm. What actually happened was the arrival of the Tech Robbie at 7pm. BTW, he did not even report to work until 4pm, when his shift started. He cleared the clog, but his device gashed a large hole in the pipe. Since it was then 9pm, and the damage was to a joint, a licensed plumber would be needed. However, since the plumber supply was closed, the plumber was scheduled for 8:30am the following day (Saturday). Well at 8:30 on Saturday, the call came in that perhaps someone would arrive by noon. So we rescheduled the plumber to Monday at 6pm. Well Monday at 6pm came, and the plumber actually arrived at 9pm. He had the wrong size pipe, we needed a 3 and he brought a 4". We rescheduled for Tuesday at 6pm. He arrived and repaired the pipe. No shower from Friday night at 9pm until Tuesday night near 9pm, Charge was $287 to unplug the drain. I will never call Roto Rooter again. Period, end of story. Was called by the Manager, and refunded the money. They are addressing the issues and apologized. Seemed like they are really interested in making this right. The Tech and the Manager on Duty are being dealt with, those in Dispatch are being addressed. Professional response taken to my experience. It has swayed me to give them another try in the future...

This was our second time using Roto-Rooter. The first time was in 2015.Our satisfaction just got better and better. Our sump pump would not shut off due to holes in the discharge pipe AND the pump itself and it was 8:00 at night with heavy rain in the forecast. Their dispatch contacted the technician, Zack Wilkins, he called us and within an hour he was at our house.. He knew exactly what the problem was, got the parts, and we were back in excellent operation within an hour and half. The other service businesses could certainly learn a lot how to treat their customers following Roto-Rooters example of quality and efficient service. Thanks Roto-Rooter and especially Zach for the professional and first rate quality of your service. Plumbing issues are not pleasant, but it is very comforting to know there is a company that practices first class what they advertise.

I scheduled my appointment via online and received confirmation, but the day of, they were so busy they called me multiple times to let me know that they were so far behind even by the time my appointment window arrived. I had to reschedule for the next day when this again happened. The plumber arrived 10 minutes before the scheduled time. Upon arrival - he notified us that since we lived in a condo it would be "business rates" that was much more than what we would have expected $200.00+ for removing the drain plug. The drain plug no longer works even after the amount of money spent on it and was told it would take all day for something like this to be fixed. I would not recommend Roto Rooter for anyone who lives in an apartment, townhome, or condo, unless you advise them up front and ask for a quote before making this consideration.

Our initial issue was a backup and we called Roto-Rooter after all efforts failed. Tyler came to inspect the situation and was extremely polite, kthorough and very helpful. He explained what he was happening, he did run the snake through but felt there was bigger issue and suggested we have them come with a camera. Jeff came to do the camera work we found we had to have additional work done to replace our pipes. Jeff helped us through the entire process, explained the existing issue and exactly what would be done, how long and the amount. I apologize I did not have the name of the main person on the job but he was the best and when we had trouble re-installing our shower he came back immediately and helped us. We were very pleased with all the work and most of all the people from Roto-Rooter.

After calling three different companies to find the best price for my money since I just had to purchase a brand new $1,200 refrigerator, you can understand why I wanted to try and save a little money. However, each service guy I had come to the house were not as amicable and honest as the Matt #2719 from Roto-Rooter. Matt took his time auguring our floor drain that was build up with years of grease which truly was a difficult task at hand. But he did not complain one bit and was extremely patient during the whole process and was determined to get us up and running which he did and me and my family are very grateful. So if you are looking for a hard working, reliable, honest company and service guy who knows what they are doing and wont beat you out of your money. Matt at Roto-Rooter is it.

Came home from errands to find my a.c. unit leaking water badly and a large puddle of water over the floor drain. Called to set up an appt and received a call a short time later to let me know someone would be there in 30-40 min. 10 min later Aaron was ringing my doorbell. He gave me a price, which was reasonable, to clear the drain. He even looked over and tested the a.c. condensation lines and pump to make sure they werent clogged, which was above and beyond in my opinion. He gave me a couple tips on what to do to maintain the clear drain and the warnings signs of a clog. He guaranteed his work for 6 months. And after clearing his tools, wiped up the wet floor which I was prepared to do. I will definitely be using and recommending in the future!!!!!
