This is the first negative review of a business or service I have ever written. My wife and I were de-winterizing our travel trailer preparing to go on a trip for our 34th wedding anniversary when we discovered a pinhole leak in a shut off valve. We tried a DIY fix that almost worked, but not quite. I called several RV dealers to see if they could replace the valve, but they were all booked until after the end of our trip. My next step was to call local plumbers. Lenox Plumbing said they were able to come the day I called and could replace the valve. They had 4.5-5 star ratings on Google and Yelp, so I decided to give them a try. When I made the appointment, I told Chris, the owner, the job was in a travel trailer outfitted with PEX tubing. I asked if he had worked with PEX before and if he could do a job in a travel trailer. He said he could and would send someone over to do the job. They were prompt, even arriving 20 minutes earlier than they said. The plumber they sent looked at the problem and quoted my a price of $250 for the repair. It was expensive, but about what I expected to pay, so I gave him the go ahead. Everything went downhill from there. The plumber seemed kind of nervous as he looked over the job, at which point I should have sent him on his way. He got a couple of tools and cut one of the lines, but couldnt remove a nut from the system with his channel locks. A deep set socket wrench may have worked, but he didnt have one. After having taken a tiny drip of a leak to a cut hose, thus rendering the system unusable, the plumber said he had never worked on a system like this & couldnt fix the problem. After having made the situation worse, he weakly apologized and left. I called Chris back to express my dissatisfaction with sending someone who was unable to do the job and didnt even have the right tools. Chris came out himself, looked at the job and said he could probably fix, but it would cost about $450. That was way more than I was willing to pay, especially since Chris said he had never worked on an RV system before either. Chris said, "Im really sorry, I hope everything works out for you." Then he left as well. With the size of the leak, we probably could have gone on the trip and used the water heater sparingly (the valve didnt leak when turned off), but since Lenox Plumbing cut the supply line and was unable to finish the job for a reasonable cost. We are having to cancel our trip and are both upset and disappointed. These guys may have worked out well for others, but they kind of ruined our anniversary celebration trip. Now I have to take the camper to a dealership which cant work on it until I have to return to work next week. I would not recommend Lenox Plumbing, especially if it is an unusual job. They say their business is built on good customer service, but in our case they did not deliver - they just made things worse.

If youre like me, the thought of having to call a plumber is terrifying because Ive heard nightmare stories of sky high prices, bad customer service, and poor workmanship. Unfortunately I didnt have a choice. An upstairs bathroom was leaking somewhere and causing water damage on the ceiling below. So I called Lenox Plumbing and made an appointment for someone to come to my house. Im really pleased to report that from beginning to end, dealing with Lenox Plumbing was a pleasure. The plumber arrived right on time, and was very courteous and professional. After about 20 minutes, he couldnt find any obvious reason for the leak. So then he gave me a list of things to try, to see if they would make any difference in the problem. If those suggestions didnt help, then he said he would have to come back and cut a hole in the ceiling below to isolate where the problem was occurring. I really appreciate that he gave me some suggestions that could help solve the problem without my having to spend a much larger amount. If his suggestions dont work, then they will apply the cost of this visit toward the cost of more involved work that will need to be done. They did not try to push a more expensive solution until after Ive had the opportunity to try some of the easy fixes they recommended. If they ultimately have to come back, I feel good knowing that they are honest and fair. Overall, based on my experience, I would highly recommend Lenox Plumbing.

I am SO happy with Lenox Plumbing!! I just purchased a house that had not been lived in for at least a year. About two weeks after moving in, our basement drains backed up and we had some standing water in the basement. I assumed that we had caused a clog somewhere in the system and called Lenox to take a look. Right before Chris arrived, I heard a whoosh, and the drains cleared themselves out and the water drained. Chris came down to take a look and was able to explain to me that this was not uncommon in uninhabited homes- the junk in the pipes had hardened over time without much use, and the water pressure finally forced the clog out. Chris helped me test out multiple faucets and the tub throughout the house to make sure that no backup would occur. In addition, Chris fixed the leak under my utility sink. In the end, Chris did not charge me for coming out, voluntarily. It meant a lot to me that Lenox Plumbing seemed to care more about building a relationship with a client as opposed to getting more money out of me. After such wonderful service, it will be Lenox that I call when we replace our water heater later on this year. Thank you Chris/Lenox for the fantastic service. I am glad to have a reliable plumbing company so close by!

I had some Hot Water heater problems recently and the guys came out immediately to take care of it. They informed me that the brand of water heater, that was installed by the previous owner, was under a giant recall and the company actually had a class action lawsuit against them. After fixing the thermocouple for a really outstanding price, it went out about a week later. The guys came on the weekend while I was gone to fix it and when I got back it was done. These guys are professional, wont try to upsell and products or services that you dont need, and will inform you of the best ways to take care of your plumbing systems so that you never have problems. I will also make sure to refer them to everyone of my neighbors.

Last weekend, we noticed our basement drain backing up pretty badly. This had been happening occasionally, but it generally had not been that bad. Well, it got a lot worse, to the point that we couldnt really run any water in our kitchen because apparently that water was affected by the clog as well. We called Lenox, and they had someone out within 3 hours. In spite of some complications due to a badly routed drainage path, they had the work done within about 2-3 hours, and the drain has worked wonderfully since then. They charged $185 for this work, and considering that I likely wouldve taken 4-5 hours of tool rental plus likely damage to pipes if I had tried it myself, this was a great deal.
