DON’T WORK WITH THESE HACKS! Absolutely horrible experience that, after many months of arguing, was resolved. Due to their resolution skills, I called for additional work and was told that "the owner no longer wanted to work with me". Yet, the owner didn’t have the gumption to call me himself. In total, six major issues and callbacks including: A family heirloom dog statue is broken by falling wood; my bathroom fan is knocked loose as they attempt to vent it to the roof; excessive amounts of wood chippings and sawdust falls into both my shed and garage (which I had to clean); nail holes through my flashing; a gutter piece cut too short. If you’re someone who knows nothing about home construction, exteriors, or roofing, I’m sure they’ll be nice and responsive and happily slip a ton of bad workmanship right past you. If you’re like me and you know when something’s not right and, God forbid, you demand you get what you paid for, don’t expect them to fulfill your needs. Apparently calling out their bad work (in a humane, civilized way directly to them to get it resolved) is frowned upon and will get you “banned”. After a 6 month estimate process, they come out to install a new roof and gutters. When opening up the front valley of my house, they find a rotted frame and carpenter ants. Sy (my salesman) advises that there was someone there on-site who can frame this. I okay this, only to find this non-English speaker walking around, finding pieces of old, scrap wood from my house to piece together (jerry-rig) and frame it in. I advise that this is unacceptable. He advises that "his framer" could come out tomorrow. I ask who this first guy was if it wasnt "his framer". Sy deflects the question. I then walk inside to discover the bathroom fan hanging half out of the ceiling with a broken bolt. Sy advises that "his electrician" will be in touch with me to replace it. A few weeks later, the electrician and his buddy show up. They finish the non-damaged bathroom fan (I bought, Lyster paid labor). He removes the damaged fan and starts cutting a larger hole in my ceiling for the new fan. Its here that he realizes that the ceiling has moisture. Covering his own behind (as he had already replaced one), he tells me that "if the ceiling falls through its not his fault". I tell him that if the ceiling does indeed fall through, I will be going to Lyster to fix it as they started this whole thing. He starts arguing with me on how it’s not Lyster’s fault. I advise him to mind his own business. Thankfully, they are able to replace the fan without issue. They leave and I turn it on later that night. The fan runs fine, but isn’t sucking air. The next day, I walk behind my shed to discover nails popped through my flashing. Since it happened on no other area, I can assume that they know about it but were trying to hide it. I call Sy and he begins to argue with me that “his electrician told him the fan could’ve been repaired”. I advised that he never said this to me and, since he removed the non-damaged fan first, they were welcome to reinstall the old repaired fans, but only if they replaced my celling (which now had larger holes cut). Long story short, they eventually get someone out to fix the fan issue and replace the flashing with the nail holes. Good resolution, right? Well, last month, I discover water coming through my soffit. I call it in (since I paid $250 for their warranty) and advise. Someone comes out. We find the soffit issue is a previous siding issue, but also that the gutter was cut too short in one area (tack it onto the list). They replace the gutter. I ask for a quote to fix the siding. After some running around, finally Mark Lyster calls me (after telling me someone would be calling me for a quote) and tells me that “the owner no longer wants to work with me”. I can promise one thing: If I have any more future issues under my paid-for warranty, they better either honor the warranty or they will find themselves on the other side of a lawsuit.

So glad I choose Lyster for my siding project. My house looks great and everyone I dealt with at Lyster was knowledgeable and customer focused. I was impressed that their Sales rep had extensive product knowledge about siding, having been on the suplier side as well as having hands on experience. This came in handy when it came to helping me pick the right siding and shakes, as well as how to best wrap the windows, selecting the right colors and answering all my questions. Lyster stood out from other siding companies in that Lyster was the only company I found that provides insurance for their employees which others do not, so that I did not need to worry about someone getting hurt while doing my house. The Lyster crews that did my house were very skilled, fast and customer focused. I was impressed by the laser leveling they did to make sure the siding wrapped around the house and came back at the right level which didn’t seem easy to me considering all the coves and contours of our house. I loved the way the doors were wrapped to give the effect of a molding contour not just box molding. They did a terrific job making complicated cuts for the siding above our garage’s angled roof. I especially was impressed that the work that would be hidden by siding was done well even though no one would see it. The workers always took the time to address any question I had. Lyster’s scheduler gave me a schedule for my siding project and Lyster crews completed the project ahead of schedule. I am so glad I choose Lyster and highly recommend them.

Sy, came by after a big wind storm and was kind enough to inspect the roof and tell me there wasnt significant damage to make an insurance claim. I appreciated the honesty of that call very much. Then, my wifes son had Lyster do their roof, it was Jesses crew of Tio, Pedro and the rest. He had been so pleased, I called Sy when it was time for the task here, my roof isnt really large but, it needs a lot of detail work. They were not the cheapest quote but, I had seen the caliber of work and liked the way the crew treated the kids at y familys home. Bright and early Friday morning, there was a crew knocking at the door and the fun began. Suffice to say, the job was done by Saturday evening with the exception of about twenty minutes for a bit it was too dark to finish Saturday night. The job looks really great! The workmanship, customer communication, clean up, follow up with the gutter job was first rate as well. I will certainly keep them in mind for other projects when needed. Great people to work with!

I just had my windows done by Lyster and I am blown away by their product and service! I initially met with Luke and we went over what I wanted done and he was very knowledgeable about the product and service that Lyster provided. Luke was also on top of communicating about when things were being delivered and installed. Bill installed the windows and he was very personable, knowledgeable and a very hard worker! I am so happy and impressed with the customer service and product that Lyster delivered. I am glad that I choose to work with Lyster rather than another company. Lyster is the bees knees AND the cats pajamas!!!!
