This company pulled a bait and switch on me. They advertised the storage unit I rented from them online for $66.00. This ad did not state that it was a limited time introductory offer. I visited the facility and Donnell Sanders escorted me to the unit that was available for the $66.00. During the tour of the facility I specifically asked Mr. Sanders if the $66.00 was an introductory offer. He stated that the $66.00 was the price. He did not say that it was a limited time introductory price. Mr. Sanders also denies that he ever told me that. He either doesnt remember or he was outright lying in order to get the new business. I had someone with me that day who also heard him tell me this and I know they have security cameras so if they play the tape back on that day you will clearly see that it was him to gave me the tour and I did have another person with me. They are now raising the price of the unit to almost double to $126.00. They should have been honest and up front at the time of the tour before I signed up and moved all my stuff from the unit I had to this one. As it turns out the unit I moved from is a better deal now then the one at Compass. If they would have been honest with me from the beginning I would never had moved from the company I was with. They were deceptive in their advertising as well as not being honest when asked about the true price during the facility tour.

When I signed the contract they told me I qualified for a military discount and that it would start the next month. When the next month came around they informed me that they do not have a military discount. After I got very angry with them, they said they would see if they could do something. When they called me back they said they can give me 10% off if my Id wasnt expired, I explained that its expired because Im a veteran, and then they told me that they dont give veterans a discount, just active duty. The man I dealt with, Darnell, was not unprofessional, he just didnt care very much that I was displeased with the service.

I used Compass Self Storage in Rochester several times over the years and was always satisfied. Audrey was especially understanding of my situation and would greet me with a smile each time I visited the office. When my son needed a storage unit for a few months, he made arrangements at this location. Everything went smoothly and the price was very good. A couple weeks ago, I learned that I would have to move. I contacted three different storage companies and Compass was by far the best. As I tried to decide what would work for me, Cynthia was extremely patient and helpful. I highly recommend Compass Self Storage.

Great Units, friendly staff, that do an amazing job keeping you informed to keep up on your bill so you avoid the stress and inconvienances that can arise when someone becomes delinquent. At least here they help you and answer any service request with speed and enthusiasm. They have found the perfect combination of managers.
