Wow. I wasnt sure what to expect, but my Aunt had recommended Scott years ago - and I totally see why! Very knowledgable, honest, open, and caring. The prices he gave were completely congruent with the warehouse ones I found online. I thought Id have to battle for prices, but nothing could be farther from the truth. He also let me know my tires were in awful shape, all except 1. He was right - one had been ripped to shreds on the freeway not long ago and had been replaced. I cant even remember when I replaced the other ones last. He found me a great price on tires for the rest of them. Seriously, Im amazed I was able to find someone like him nowadays. I came in for an emergency brake repair, and came out with a mechanic Im keeping. :) Thank you Scott!

After the dealership told me I need a new muffler at $840+Labor, TLC quoted me $120+Labor. When I arrived the tech looked at the problem, told me I did NOT need a new muffler, and fixed it by replacing a small section of the muffler instead, for only $50 and in just 20 mins! 8/27/14 UPDATE: Had TLC fix my boyfriends stuck caliper. They were able to complete the repairs the same day and were the most competitive after I got 2 other bids from shops in the Royal Oak area. So glad I found a reliable, cost competitive shop for my car repairs.

There used to be an older guy here that seemed to be pretty honest/knowledgeable. Recently though I took my car in b/c my calipers needed to be changed. They told me that my cars transmission would also need to be replaced b/c it was slipping. This would be $1500+ in repairs just to the transmission. My brother in law (also a mechanic) looked at it for 2 seconds and instantly said the transmission was fine. After fixing my calipers the car is running great. These guys are either scammers or incompetent.

Great guys here. Ive finally found a shop I can trust. I had my car quoted at a few other places and was told that I needed a new exhaust system or a new this or that. I took my car here, the gentleman looked at it for 2 minutes and said it was just missing a bolt. He put it up on the lift and put a bolt in it and called it good. The car has been quiet ever since without replacing the exhaust system. They saved me hundreds of dollars. Ill definitely be back.

I decided to take my car here after hearing good things about them. My car wasnt running good after having it fixed and my check engine light came on. I brought it back and told them it seemed like my O2 sensor was bad. They told me they could check all the sensors for $80. I said no thanks and looked at it myself. It turns out they forgot to plug the sensor back in. I had to fix their mistake by myself or pay $80. I wont be going back here for service.

I would highly recommend finding another auto shop. Engine was poorly replaced, wiring left loose, volts missing, engine check light came on shortly ever and experienced very poor customer service when I brought the car back in. Quality here has not been the same since new ownership.

TLC installed a new custom exhaust system (they were the ONLY shop in Royal Oak I could find that could even do it) on my 1986 Monte Carlo SS. They did an excellent job, and the price was more than fair. Great experience overall.

These guys are awesome! I needed to borrow a tool and they let me take it home to put a new serpentine belt on. Still could not get it the belt on so I had my car towed up there. The guy helped me put it on at no charge!

Jason is the man. Guy knows his stuff and is just an honest dude that does good work. If you need anything welded, hes your guy. Everything has been reasonably priced work and Ive had multiple cars serviced here.

I got a price quote at Wear Master for muffler/exhaust and flex-pipe work that came out to $500. I took it to TLC and Jason did it for $390. Very satisfied and honest.
