This is a little long overdue review but here goes... My foster mother told me when you move to a new town you find your favorite church and favorite salon. I think they are good at cutting but no so much at color. Unfortunately Ive yet to find either. I tried salon 21 before when they took me from long hair to a pixie cut! I was already blonde and wanted to be blonder but they took me to this platinum that had a grayish tint forever. That was last year. I have been trying other places in the mean time. After the platinum I went to a dark brown. After a while I decided I wanted to go back blonde. So I went to a different place in march and went lighter, 2 months later on mothers day I went to bliss salon and got my hair done to go lighter, he told me to come back two months later or 6 to 8 weeks. I scheduled it on July 8th my birthday. He called to inform me he can no longer do weekends. I have a child and weekends are my only time I have someone to watch her do I decided to schedule at salon 21 again to try them out again. My hair is a tad bit lighter than the 2 months prior but looks almost identical in color as when I left Bliss salon. After all the work was done I remember looking in the mirror and feeling disappointed as I feel like with the base it was it could and should have been much brighter. I knew what to expect coming from a dark color. I did not expect a miracle but as I said this was my 3rd trip. I did not have any unrealistic expectations. ANY picture in any light I take a picture of the color of my hair appears brown and not closer to my ultimate goal. So again they are pretty decent at cuts but not color in my opinion. I feel like I walked in and paid for almost the same hair I walked in with. Also I need to mention the fact that I asked for a price breakdown (estimate ) before we started. She broke it down and came to 105. At the register shes telling me she guessed at one and the computer said it should be 15 added to her guess. Right there I should have considered her that tip then. I asked her to check beforehand but I guess she was too lazy. So now I know to make them calculate it on their computer screen. Also Ive never met a hairdresser who did not seem to want to chat with the person they were doing their hair. Guess Im supposed to sit in a chair for hours quiet as a mouse or something? She chatted but you could tell it was forced. I get everybody has their work style. This place just wasnt for me. Unfortunately Im was not impressed. and this is not going to be my main salon.

After trying out a lot of the salons in the area, I was referred to the best place around. The staff is incredibly friendly, the complimentary services are great, and Ive never walked out unhappy. After just one haircut, I could count on Tony (the owner) to do exactly what I wanted without instructions. Every time I go there, I tell him to do what he wants and I know Ill leave with a great haircut.
