This is, simply put, a sub-par gym whose operations are less than sub-par. Planet Fitness is a low-cost gym at first glance (rightfully so), but after the initial year-long membership fee of $20 is up, the price jacks up 3 times that cost, and gives no warning that it will do so. No phone call, no letter, not even an email (how hard is it to send an email, honestly?) warning customers of the increase is ever delivered, which might even bring one to the conclusion that they dont WANT their customers to be aware of the price jack. When I found myself in the situation of having a charge on my bank account for 3 times the cost of my membership, naturally I called to cancel and demand my money back, as this gym is far from deserving of that kind of fee. (Just so you understand what kind of gym this is: the cleaning agent meant for the machines smells terrible, the machines themselves are in disrepair or worn down, and they throw what is essentially the equivalent to a forth-grade pizza party WEEKLY. This is a GYM guys. Again, leaves one to wonder whether this is a purposeful move to keep their customers unhealthy and thus dependent on them.) When I called to correct the situation, I was told that not only do they "not do refunds" (what?) but they could not cancel my membership over the phone. Its June 2016, but apparently PF is still living in the 90s. So now, not only am I out $60, but I am also expected to take time out of my day (because we all just have loads of extra time falling out of our butts, right?) to go into this crap establishment and talk to these incompetent people in person about why I am entitled to a refund and how I would not ever consider staying with this crap gym especially considering their crap business practices. TL;DR: Planet Fitness is a crap gym that will take your money without your knowledge and refuse to give you a refund. Also, it smells. Dont waste your money.

The gym is nice, clean, and there is plenty of equipment. My biggest issue is the staff. I waited FIVE minutes for member check in!! There was only one employee behind the desk on a Sunday afternoon. She was busy helping a customer sign up for a new membership, while me and a few others had to stand and wait just for member sign in. Some people just walked right past the desk because they didnt feel like waiting anymore. If you want to tan or do the red light therapy you have to sign in for a time (not like a regular tanning place where you can just walk in, you have to basically make an appointment) I wanted to try out the tanning booths, so I signed in for my time. After patiently waiting for my time for an hour....the staff gave my scheduled time to someone else!! I had to wait an additional 20 minutes for that person to get out of the bed. They did not apologize or even seem to care. For the most part, going to the gym in general is independent, where you dont really need the staff for anything. I like the gym and will continue my membership. Just dont expect anything from the snooty incompetent staff.

For this to be a place thats so called judgement free...they are the most judgemental place ever! I feel way more uncomfortable working out here than anyother facility I have ever been in. They judge you on everything...down to the water bottle you drink out of. I was told I couldnt use the bottle I had. They tell you what exercises you cant do. I couldnt do one of my favorite exercises because an employee came and told it wasnt allowed. I will never ever pay them any money to use anything in there. They have way too many dumb rules for trying to make people feel comfortable and not judged while working out.

This place is not bad as long as you go during the slow times. If you go in the morning its best, but once you get there when everyone is off work at like 5 or 6, forget about it, it will be very hard to get a machine or bench. Also the main beef I have with this place is that even in 70 degree weather all they do is put on the fans and open the doors which is ridiculous! The heat discourages you from working out. You truly get what you pay for. Other than that I do like this gym for the money. They have decent machines and free weights.

Good location and great gym and the gym amenities are great and they offer various workout equipment and stations but user experience will vary depending on what kind of amenities youre looking for, i.e. treadmill, weight lifting stations, and general cardio equipment then this is your gym but if youre looking for the full ten yards (pool, basketball court, sauna, etc...) then you may want to consider LA fitness or a different gym. Overall, you get what you pay for and for $10-$20/month its perfect for my lifestyle.

The place is great and nice equipments. The staff?? You hope you will never need to deal with them other than "Hi" and "Bye". I have been a customer for 3 years and I left the state to go to Texas (job transfer). It took me 3 months to cancel because they didnt give a sh**t anymore. They wanted me to cancel by sending a letter. I did and 2 months later I noticed they were still charging my bank. I called them and they said they never received it. Had to start over again the process.

For one year I had both a LA Fitness and Planet Fitness membership. $420 for LA. $99 for Planet. Somehow, Planet was infinitely better staffed , cleaner and just better. Only Planet has wifi and not disgusting locker rooms and the tigers games on tv (how does LA not have that!). 24 hours. Only issue and its big;Ive been informed after this year they will no longer have cash memberships. The games played once you have a credit card on file are a scam. I will be sad to leave, but I will.

The employees clearly do not care about anything. They are also not educated on their policies. I cancelled my membership in late May so I wouldnt have to pay my annual fees of 30 dollars. They charged me anyway, even though the employee I talked to said they would absolutely not. I have been emailing customer service back and forth for a whole month now, and they still refuse to refund my 30 dollars. Absolutely terrible gym. I was going to return next January, but I now I wont be.

Planet Fitness has been a dream come true! At $10/month, you cant beat this gym. The equipment is new and always maintained well. Even after the New Years Resolution(ers) came in January, you could still get on any machine you wanted, even during busy times. This gym is perfect for someone who likes the big gym feel, without the people who usually come with it. I feel comfortable working out here and would highly recommend it to anyone!

This place has 4 seated hamstring machines, why? How about 2 seated and 2 laying down? These two different machines work out the hamstrings slightly different. I suggest the management tries to switch out two of them. Also, the Kate Dryden review is fake. Planet Fitness membership prices are set. They do not change. My guess is that review is a competitor, maybe Lifetime who do not advertise their prices because they are scamming.
