Hey all! Dropped off my recently deceased Retired Military (Air Force) fathers Trailblazer to have repaired at local Hamburg Garage. Asked them to repair electrical problem and remove remote starter if causing any of the problems. $1410.80 later, went in to pick up -and as we were standing at the desk- Dan (part owner) removed the remote for the starter from the key chain and set it behind the desk. As we were discussing repairs and removal of the starter I asked to have the removed remote starter. (Legally, we are entitled to keep all removed parts from our vehicles from any repair shop.) Dan stated "we threw it in the garbage!" I reiterated I want it, that it was a functioning newer remote starter. He went into the back for 20 seconds and said it was taken away by the garbage this morning. I said well thats too bad but I still want it back. It cost my father $250 to have that put in 2 years ago. The owners response is impressive!!! "Well what do you want me to do? I cant replace something that I dont know the cost of? I want a receipt then I can do something". Even though I verbally just told him it cost $250. Now in essence being called a liar. I told him, no my father died 6 months ago,it was installed 2 YEARS ago in Illinois. We have no record on us of that. "Then I cant do anything, what if someone told me it cost $500?!" I reminded him that I said $250 and thats exactly what it cost. "Nope! Too bad! I cannot do anything. See right here online it says $99!" Again, insinuating that Im lying. I reminded him again, I want my parts back and he again declined my parts returned to me or compensation. My husband said then credit the $99. "NOPE! Not without a receipt. We called him a thief! And he said ok youre now trespassing and I will call the police. I said thats perfectly fine with me. I walked to my dads truck, we left. After calling him a few choice names! The Hamburg Garage Owners are theifs and break the laws. Again, as the laws state, one is legally entitled to your vehicle parts they remove. Am very curious how many customers have been told that their removed car parts were "thrown away"?!?! I will not even get into details about the total bill. I would recommend NOBODY use their services. Big ....expensive .....mistake.

Hamburg garage is full of consummate professionals. They care about your vehicle and your.safety. They are straight forward when discussing issues or suggested fixes which is nice, and on top of that they never try to upsell you for something you dont need. You get to support a local business and you get to do so knowing that you are in good hands. A small disclaimer I have only gotten my oil changed here but they always provide a list of suggestions to keep both my new and older vehicle running at peak performance. I have taken the car to my mechanic who has always agreed with their suggestions and I generally allow the mechanic to do the work because he.will do it for a smaller price. That being said if there came a day that my mechanic could not perform the repair or maintenance I would feel not only comfortable but confident in the Hamburg garage to do a professional job and keep me informed throughout the process. I have seen some negative reviews about the Hamburg garage however, if there is one thing I have learned in customer service its that a person who has what they view as a Negative experience is much more likely to complain as opposed to sing praises. Lastly, you should not take my word for it you should go in and speak with Dan or any other member of the team and be wowed by their uncommon business practices. I have always felt like I was getting a shady deal at auto shops but the Hamburg garage breaks that stigma and provides top notch customer service and I would not be surprised to see them in business for many years to go! Go see them today!

Had a wheel bearing starting to make some noise... Original quote was around $275 or so... They said they ran into some issues and they now had to replace they CV shaft, Im looking at around $550 or so... Im not happy at this point, but I OK they work.... The next time I heard from them they had rendered my vehicle immobile... Bearing, CV shaft, knuckle... and all the labor involved in trying to press the shaft through the bearing (unsuccessful). I talked with the service manager about ordering the parts myself to try and save some money on the repair (repair now being more than the value of the car). He "OKs" the order because the timing was the same as the part delivery from his supplier... Fast forward a couple days to when the parts arrive... Manager calls me to tell me that the labor rate has changed since I ordered my own parts... (contradictory to the conversation we had on the phone).... Not wanting to argue with the manager who is clearly getting direction from the owner, I ask to talk to the owner. ---- Either the manager completely lied to the owner or the owner completely lied to me. I work in automotive manufacturing, I almost always do my own repairs, we had something going this weekend and my wife talked me into just dropping it off local so I didnt have to mess with it... Ill never go back here again (which stinks, because they have good oil change deals)... I would NEVER recommend this shop to anyone I know. Accidents do happen when repairing cars... honesty needs to prevail and not at the expense to the customer.

We had a brake caliper lock up while passing through the area. Stopped at Hamburg Garage not knowing what to expect. They confirmed what I had suspected and immediately set to calling around to find the parts needed to get me back on the road and on with my vacation. They found everything but the brake line. So they inspected the line to make sure it was still serviceable and would get us to our destination and advised to get the line replaced as soon as we could since it would have been affected by the heat of the locked caliper. As an out-of-towner, they could have gouged us or charged us extra for express service, but they didnt. Politeness and respect. Something that is lacking in so many services today, but you can find it at Hamburg Garage. My only regret is that I dont live close enough to give them future business.

Couldnt be happier with the Hamburg Garage! After a shoddy job performed at a local oil change place, I had to bring my Jeep Grand Cherokee for complete diagnostics, taking the oil pan apart and numerous other things...they discovered the oil filter was broken off and had run through my engine. They communicated what they had to do to my vehicle every step of the way. They even communicated with the local owner of the oil change place-who refused all responsibility. In the end, the owner of the Hamburg Garage went to court with me to help me win my case. Who does that? I ask you, where can you find another shop anywhere to help you in this way or to take responsibility for work theyve done? I give this place @ least 5 stars, a high 5 and a 6 pack....great job guys. You all have a customer for life!
