Im taking off another star after processing my experience a bit more from last week. I was bothered a bit by feeling manipulated through the conversation the employees were having with each other regarding my service. When I visited for an oil change I asked about the "$30 coupon deal" I received in the mail for an oil/filter change and I was told the cost was more than double (over $60) because I needed 6 quarts (vs 5) and I also needed synthetic, and the coupon wouldnt allow for over 5 quarts nor synthetic. "Ok" I said - "it is what it is. Seems a bit steep but Im here now so its fine." I wasnt mad, just a bit disappointed the prices had increased more than double since last time I came in for the same service. I sat down and then heard two employees talking about it and how "the customer" should basically be happy with their price because "you cant even purchase synthetic oil at the store for cheaper." They went on for a couple minutes talking about this and I was confused why they were making such a big deal about it, as if to make me feel badly that I inquired about why it was so expensive in my mind. Well today I received a coupon from my local dealership for....you guessed it, a no-catch, $30 synthetic oil, filter, wiper blade change, no limit on quarts. So I wasnt "wrong" in thinking the coupon wasnt that great this time around. Just because the word "Christian" appears in advertising doesnt always mean youre getting the fairest deal. It also doesnt mean youre guaranteed be treated the way Christ would treat you. Ill stop here so it doesnt become more than what it was. Original Post: Honest service and decent prices. I came here when I would receive a mailer coupon and need an oil change. For ~$30 I used to get an oil change (I guess it no longer applies to synthetic as it has in the pat) and new wiper blades. Today however I paid over $60 for an oil change (WITH coupon!) This was when I discovered how much more they charged for synthetic. So Ill probably change my own oil in the future or take it to another place. I also needed a new battery and was quoted about $40 more than getting a better one myself at the local battery store (Batt Plus) so I decided to stick with the oil change this time. Lesson learned: Its always good to do price-comparison (if you can) regardless of where you go! I trust this place (which is good) so would probably come back again if one of my vehicles had issues, needed work, and I needed somewhere to go in a pinch.

Dear Jim, Thank you for sharing with us your experience you had at Christian Brothers Automotive in Andover, MN. Im sorry to hear about your frustration. I did review your estimate, talked with the technician and with the Dan the owner about your visit here with us. When the technician first did a quick visual inspection, no diagnostic, and found what he thought was the belt tensioner making the noise, that is what we quoted for you - the replacement of the whole tensioner and pulley. So the prices are going to vary and be different, because the repairs are not the same. If we compare apples to apples and would have replaced just the pulley and not the tensioner, our estimate would have been very similar, $133.00 plus tax. The technician would have seen that it was just the pulley making noise once the belt was removed which we would have advised you from there. I dont want any animosity over this issue, I would just like the chance to explain our side. With us so new here, a negative review can do damage to ones reputation, which I would like to preserve because we are honest and truthful and want everyone to have a positive experience. Thank you and God Bless. Tim Kruse Service Manager at CBA

Ive been coming to Christian Brothers for three years. Not sure why I havent written a review yet, but its time to get it done. We have had all three of our vehicles serviced here, and have always been treated fairly, offered a fair price, and have never been pressured or pushed to have other work done. They will bring up issues that will need to be addressed in the future, but have never put on the pressure by making it seem they are urgent when they are not. The Service Manager, Dan, is awesome. About two years ago I felt that my transmission wasnt behaving like it should. Since I was leaving the next day to travel with my family to South Dakota for Christmas, I was nervous to say the least. Dan told me to bring it down and hed take a drive with me. After driving around for about 15 minutes, he reassured me that all my transmission was behaving as it should. I took his word for it, and have never needed any work on the transmission...so he was right. In that same situation, I believe there are many places that would have simply said, "youre right" and put a new tranny in for me - even though I didnt need one. I have been to many auto shops in my life, but Christian Brothers is the one I trust.

My name is Moriah & Ive been going to Christian Brothers since last July or August, I believe it was? Anyway, the first day I walked in there I was not in the right state of mind, & oh so bummed about all the money I was throwing into this car of mine.. They promised to take care of me that day, & they definitely kept their promise. Theyve always given me a fair price, & have worked with me when my fiances were strapped & a lot of stuff had to be done for my car. Ginger even made me a sandwich one day while they were working on my car, and we just sat & gabbed. Do I even have to mention, they allow me to bring my little Yorkiepoo named Bentley inside with me? He knows everyone there & he definitely loves them as much as I do! I cant leave without giving everyone a hug. They are the absolute best, most honest and caring company Ive ever dealt with, & for that, I will forever come to them! I just wanted to say, THANK YOU so much for everything youve done for me. I dont know what Id do without you guys! -Moriah Krondak & Bentley (the yorkiepoo-- he says hi, by the way, guys!) :)

I recently had my oil changed at Christian Brothers in Andover and I couldnt be happier with the service I received! I have an older car and was trying to decide if it was worth it to get some repairs done, so I also asked Christian Brothers to look over the vehicle to identify issues. They thoroughly checked over my car and reported back all of the issues. They were very straightforward with me and told me that they didnt think it was worth it for me to put more money into the car. They could have tried to push me for a whole lot of costly repairs, so I really appreciate the honesty. Now that I am going to be looking for a new car, I will have Christian Brothers look over the car before I buy it and I will be taking it there for all of my future repairs. Wherever you live, it is worth the drive to get your vehicle repaired at Christian Brothers.
