Unbelievable!. I really dont have enough words to fit into my review with all the specific details I have in mind, although I would just let you know that I once rated this place as 5 stars. Short story: 1. After tending to my car this mechanics left my anti-freeze tank loose and let it spill all over my car. 2. They wanted to charge me 100$ for belts which dont cost more then 40$, replaced in 30 minutes which costs 100$ labor. 3. Tried to make me pay 1,000$ for labor that takes 30 minutes and 800$ for parts which cost no more then 300$ max! found those for 150$ as well! Replaced those parts myself in 1 hour and only paid 25$ for used parts! 4. They let me drive on a high-way with an extremely risky car, the risk could be avoided if they would be moral enough to make a simple quick fix which would literally less then 2 minutes! with their bare-hands! but no, they preferred to have me drive on that car with a very high risk. 5. Also! after I told them that I found cheaper parts, theyve told me that if I bring my parts (which are cheaper) the price will remain the same because theyll raise the labor price! so by my calculation, parts that cost 150$ will cost me a labor of 1650$ (which shouldnt take more then 30 minutes of work!) just unbelievable, truly... unbelievable! Try to avoid this place unreliable, immoral and theyll rip you off!

Great new management - give this place another shot. Ive been going to this CarX location for a while, due to convenience of its location for me. Ive had mixed experiences in the past - many good ones and a couple of mediocre ones. However, the store has a new manager (Kirk) starting and he really impressed me this time - so much that I told him Id go online and write a review of his store. Kirk really took the time to listen and understand my problem, helped me get it solved and didnt seem pushy at all about other "unnecessary" services (as other people have mentioned in their reviews). He really did all he could to make sure that I was satisfied with their service. He was also willing to give me credit for a coupon that I had forgotten at home - I wouldnt expect a favor like this every time, but it was definitely appreciated. I think if youve been disappointed by the service at this facility in the past, Id recommend giving it another chance. New management has really helped to improve the culture and attitude at this store. Ill happily go back the next time that my cars need service and would encourage anyone else to do the same.

Horrible experience at Car X! Im the type of guy that doesnt know much about cars and usually just takes the mechanic at face value, but this time I decided to call BS... I recently took my car to this shop after hearing some weird screeching noises from my brakes. They told me that, "after inspection", I needed to replace my pads, rotors, calipers and brake fluids, totaling over $1K. I told them I couldnt afford that right now and asked if I could get away with anything less. They said "absolutely not, you need all of this done." So I called a friend of mine, who does some mechanic work on the side, and convinced him to do the job himself... After disassembling the brakes, it was obvious from the rust build-up that Car X HAD NOT EVEN TAKEN THE BRAKES OFF TO DO THE "INSPECTION". As it turned out, my calipers were in fine shape and my fluids were great. It simply needed new rotors and pads, which took about 30 minutes for my friend to do. I went and bought the parts at Napa for a fraction of what Car X was charging. All told, it cost me $220 with parts and labor, a savings of over $800. Glad I called BS!

Ive been to the carx here and the one in Hopkins. Both times Im sure I was mislead into replacing parts that were not bad. Here, they said I needed a front wheel bearing when I brought the car in for a front end vibration problem which turned out to be caused by a very visibly bent rim(i.e. on the inside of the rim visible from under the car); they also broke my ABS doing the work. The one in Hopkins replaced the alternator when they said the check engine code told them "low voltage"; the light came back on the next day. Since this sort of crap happened at more than one location, I have to assume their setup in general is gears the owners toward thinking they need to get a certain amount of money on average from everyone who strolls in, whether they need the work or not, so I will never go back to any carx.

Horrible service!!! The worst customer service I have ever seen in the car business. DO NOT GO THERE PLEASE!!!!!!!!! I had them put my spare tire on and they unhooked my speaker wires and left a wire connected to my battery just sitting there. I had to get that fixed and they said it could of blew up the back end of my car or started it on fire. I called back to let the manager know of this situation and he hung up on me. Thats a good way to treat customers. Almost kill them and say there is nothing you can do about it. I would never treat a person like that, I work in customer service and we take care of our customers right on the spot. These people dont care all they want is your money. DO NOT GO THERE PLEASE!!!!!!! If you do I hope you dont experience what I did.

James the manager at the Golden Valley Car-X and his team are great! Always friendly and helpful, they go above and beyond to make sure youre satisfied and your vehicle is taken care of. I have an older Jeep and it needed some overdue routine maintenance a few months ago and they helped me out. More recently my brakes needed some serious attention and James, Roger and the crew were very helpful. They got my Jeep stopping fast and smooth in no time. Their prices are reasonable and fair and Ive never felt like Im being overcharged. Even if its just something basic like an oil change or something more involved theyll make sure its done right!

I have been taking my truck to Car X Golden Valley for many years. James and the team (Roger, Chad, Morgan, and Doug) have been unbelievably helpful. I am grateful to have found a team of mechanics that stand by there quality workmanship. These guys are timely, trustworthy, and very reasonably priced. I have referred many friends and family here and they have had similar experiences. I am proud to say that Golden Valley Car X is my family shop and will be for years to come. There isnt one problem they havent been able to help me out with yet. Keep up the great work guys. See you at the next oil change.

Have to say that this might be the worst customer service I have seen in a while - both on the phone and in person. I needed a new wiper motor on my car, thunderstorms were 100% chance that day so needed to get them done. They clearly ripped me off after further investigation on cost of this fix. Plus they pushed and pushed on sales of other need to be fixed items that I told them in the beginning I was not fixing since it was just a car I was borrowing. Seriously poor customer service skills, I will not ever bring my car back to that location or any other Car-X location again.
