Ive been to this shop a few times, the first couple services were barely adequate and my most recent service was shockingly bad. My left rear caliper seized and I brought my car into this shop to have the problem addressed. I gave the service writer very clear instructions on what I wanted to do, but he insisted that their technicians diagnose the problem. They managed to waste 25 minutes of my time, while coming to the same conclusion. I elected to replace the rear calipers, pads, and rotors and the service writer promised that theyd have it done by a certain time. While working on the car, the service writer called me to tell me about some other problems they had "found" in the car: that my engine coolant was old and my transmission fluid was in really bad shape, the service writer insisted that my transmission would fail imminently. I declined to replace the fluid, and had to fight the service manager who was tragically misinformed about the specific transmission fluid my car takes. Eventually, they managed to get the new parts on, though they took about 50% longer than they promised and I missed an important engagement. Even more unfortunately, they didnt tell me it would take longer than they promised until they missed the deadline, which made it impossible for me to create a contingency plan. They did give me a $10 discount for taking a phone survey, but they told me that I would only be eligible for that $10 discount if I gave them top service ratings, which I did though I must stress that this shop is among the worst Ive ever been to and the employees should be ashamed of the poor service they provide. After I got my car back, I noticed that my emergency brake didnt have the proper tension and the service writer tried to demonstrate that the ebrake was "good enough". Unfortunately, the Ebrake was "good enough" and the idiot service writer couldnt comprehend that and REFUSED to set it correctly, THOUGH AFTER HE CHAGED ME $850 DOLLARS FOR THE PARTS AND INSTALLATION, HE SAID THEYD NEED ANOTHER $20 TO GET THE BRAKE TO FUNCTION AS IT DID BEFORE THEIR "SERVICE". All the while the service writer chatted me up about his stepdaugter or and generally poor ability to manage his life while I was trying to get work done in the lobby. At the time, I was involved in the development of a race car and decided to check my transmission fluid, I was able to determine that the transmission fluid was ENTIRELY within the manufactures specifications, the service writer told me that the fluid (which was so pristine that i could have put my transmission fluid into another car) was ruined and I risked imminent failure. This store is run by incompetent people at best and liars and crooks at worst. I havent found a great shop in the Twin Cities, but I believe that its a good decision to ignore this shop entirely. In summary: Theyll lie to you and mislead you. At best, theyll just take some of your money, at worst their incompetence will damage your car. They dont any semblance of good customer service, its a shame that they cant find better people given 8.7% of America is looking for work.

I wouldnt do the review unless it is really bad. Brought a 2006 Chevy to their shop for engine oil. They changed the oil and did a diagnostic for $10, which is good. Then they quoted a battery replacement at $200, for which I got the job done for $100 at Sams Club. They also indicated my water tank was low in coolant and they found the water pump was leaking and needed to be replaced, and offered a timing belt replacement "since we need to do the job anyway" with a total quote of $750. First, I replaced my timing belt 5 years before and I drove 50 k miles on that, so there is no need to replace. Second, I asked them to fill the coolant tank and they refused because "it conflicts their policy". I declined the water pump service and found out on the second day that my temp sensor hiked to the highest temp. Have to stop by a auto store and found water tank completely empty. Spent $8 to refill the tank with coolant and no new leakage was spotted since two weeks have passed, so $750 was saved. Do yourself a favor and choose a different Firestone. If they find out any issue on the vehicle, try a reliable mechanic shop.

Ive always gone to Firestone in Minnetonka since its right next to my work but Ill deal with driving somewhere further from now on, they are a very shady business in my opinion. I bought all new tires from there a little over two years ago and since then 3 have had issues with the valve and had to be fixed, none covered under warranty of course (one that I had a professional look at and he said there was a bent part that caused the issue and Firestone shouldve made me aware of this/they shouldve replaced it when replacing the tire). I also bought a new battery from there 2 years and 3 weeks ago that they told me should last 5 years but its already gone bad. Since Im 3 weeks past the 2 year warranty they said theyd replace it at 50% off which would be $71?!?! Retail value online shows $111. The staff has always been nice but when everything Ive purchased through them has gone bad Im going to assume they have inferior products. Ill choose paying more somewhere else to replace my battery because I dont trust the products they sell.

I went there for a brake service inspection, since it started to make grinding sound. I was expecting to change brake pads and rotors. The guys at this firestone location recommend to change the calipers as well. I wasnt expecting that all. When I talked to mechanic, I wasnt satisfied with his answer. On talking further, he said we could try with these calipers, but the lady at the first just declined to do it without calipers. Also, when I asked the me why the prices they mentioned for calipers are so higher compared to what I saw online, $60 dollars online compared to $145 they quoted( labour is seperate), they mentioned that we make money of parts too, I mean three times the prices, it is just ridiculous. Totally not satisfied with them I went to another location, they didnt even mention about calipers and I got the job done roughly 1/3rd the price this firestone location. Totally not recommending to anyone. Go there if you have spare money to spend.

Had an oil change, tires rotated and alignment checked. A week and a half later.my check engine light comes on, mind you my 15 legacy has 12k miles. I bring it to the dealer and all they could find was my oil level was low by over 1.5 quarts. The error code wouldnt repeat. I went to firestone and the manager swore to me that his most senior tech did the job. Showed me some initials on a piece of paper. I asked if they have a process to check the oil pump guage, he said yes. So I asked him where it went and he couldnt tell me. I told him I didnt want anything. Given what they did however it shows the managers greed to not urge a refund or compensation of some sort. Its kind of a joke, that much short...in a new vehicle. Shavings oil for prpfit at the customers expense? I will never use them again for any of my vehicles.
