This review was done by my wife, who doesnt have a Google account. I had my hair done by Sindy. I wanted a balayge ombre because I didnt want to keep going to the salon. Id only gotten my hair done four weeks ago and my roots werent even a quarter-inch in length. My hair is natural level four or five, and I had level eight/nine highlights already in. Sindy asked what I wanted, and I told her a haircut, balayge, and olaplex. She didnt want to put the olaplex in the color because it would take too much time. This was my first red flag. I showed her a picture of what I wanted my hair to look like, along with a video. But before I got to show her the video, she disappeared to mix the color without discussion of the specific color she was using -- another red flag. She applied the color. Her lack of basic customer service skills came up again and no attempt at small talk was made. After coloring, she began cutting my hair, with my absolutely no discussion as to what I wanted. I am not expecting to have in-depth heartfelt discussions with a hair stylist, but they can at least ask their clientele about what they are looking for. Not surprisingly given her lack of interest, the results were terrible. She didnt take small enough pieces and just applied color however she seemed fit, with no respect as to how the results would look on me. The highlights didnt match. At the root, the highlight was orange that faded out to platinum and then orange again at the tips of my hair. I am a manager at my job and orange hair is not an acceptable look, so I called to that night to address these issues. She rescheduled me and I came in for a second time. Sindy admitted her mistakes and realized that she didnt keep the highlight on long enough to lift and that the darker color was done poorly, so she said she was going to fill it - but left again without discussing specifics about the color. She proceed to foil, and the results came out even more orange then the first time. She kept removing the highlight before it processed, so it didnt match the other highlights. I called the next morning and the front desk said that she or the manager would call me back. I waited a couple of days and did not hear anything back, so I called again. Sindy called me back and left a voicemail. She was very rude and discussed in a condescending tone how "gracious" she was for "fixing" it the first time, and went so far as to blame me for the issue. I called the manager and since they are independently contracted that he is not able to do anything about it. This level of service would not be acceptable from a $10 barber like Fantastic Sams, much less a "prestigious" salon where the services cost hundreds of dollars. Needless to say, I will not be giving Hair District any more of my business, and am considering filing a fraudulent charge claim with my bank, as I do not think Sindy or the Hair District provided me the services that I paid for and the fact that they are unable (or unwilling) to address this issue is extremely unsettling to me.

I normally go to cheap salons because I like to save money. I recently decided to treat myself by going to an upscale salon. Big mistake. Though it was the most expensive haircut I have ever gotten, it was also the worst. I paid $60 for Zena to cut almost all of my hair off and now I cannot even style it. My hair was a couple inches below my shoulder and I am trying to grow it out for my wedding. I told her this and that I wanted a shoulder length cut. My hair is now chin length and wont even fit into my hot rollers. When I saw the result I gave her the money and rushed out to cry in my car but I tried to remain optimistic because I thought maybe it would still work with my hot rollers. As soon as I got home I tried to put my hair up and when I couldnt I called the salon to try to get a refund. Well, Zena then thought it would be appropriate to tell me that it is my fault my hair is so short, as if I cut it myself, and that Im doing something wrong if I cant get my hair in hot rollers. And now my hair wont work with the style I want for my WEDDING. Ruined hair and out $60. Never go here, and especially dont let Zena touch your hair. She is rude, unprofessional, and cant even listen to what you want.

I went to the hair district because its close to my house. I have curly hair and stopped going to my other stylist because she charged $70 to just cut my hair (which is ridiculous). Ive had 2-3 hair cuts at hair district and they were awful (@$50 a pop)! Im trying to grow my hair out and the stylist cut my hair shorter on the right side than the left. Its been lopsided for months. She also cut my hair too short - note to all stylists - wet curly hair shrinks when it dries! So I thought Id give it 1 more chance. Earliest availability is 1 month out... and they want to charge me $50+ for a simple dry cut, trim the ends (and are totally inflexible on the price). Im done. Trying Uptown Curl. Same day appointment, $35 for a trim.

The strongest sign of consumer satisfaction? Repeat purchase. I cannot speak highly enough on behalf of Krissa Wineberg. A previous serial stylist booker, I have seen Krissa for over 7 years having followed her from her previous salon. Her talent with color is unparallel by any other. Krissa is great at taking your thoughts and executing a cut/color/style that is well suited for you. Whether, it’s a special event, high fashion, or something that translates to every day, this is your girl. You will love sitting in her chair. The Hair District in SLP is a great location with convenient parking. Friendly staff, clean, and great product – high marks all around.

I have been trusting Leigh Nelson to color and cut my hair for the past 20 years. She has been working for the Hair District in St. Louis Park for 12 years now...I think that speaks volumes for both Leigh and the salon. Leigh is very professional and stays up to date on all the trends and what is current in both cutting and coloring. I have a coworker that says "I have the best hair" and people will ask me if I just had my haircut and it has been weeks...it is because Leigh is very precise and cuts the bottom of my hair perfectly straight. Thank you, Leigh for making my hair look so good. YOU ARE THE BEST!!

Jes has been doing my hair for almost a year and she is AMAZINGGGGG!!! She always takes the time to do a really thorough consultation to make sure we are 100% on the same page before we get started. She always has great new ideas too! My favorite thing that she does with my hair is her attention to detail, she never just does the minimum, I always leave feeling like she put 110% into my hair and I ALWAYS love it! I highly recommend giving her a try and her prices are super reasonable, especially for the quality of work and her attention to detail!! Havent found a stylist I am happier with yet!
