I contacted Sara on her website and got a pretty quick response. Shell have you come in for 15 minutes to do a consultation which I think is awesome b/c sometimes you dont have enough time to share/brainstorm and bounce back ideas on the day of. As a potential client, I felt extremely confident and comfortable that Sara understood what I was looking for AND I was informed of potential looks for me to consider. I quickly scheduled the cut and I didnt feel rushed or pressured to make a decision but Sara was patient and thorough in communicating to me her professional opinion. Shes also very social and easy to talk to-she even agreed to be in my IG story video -Chill lady! Im hoping to go back for color once the timing is right. The one thing potential clients should know is that she takes cash/check only. So make a stop at the bank or bring your checkbook!

I went in to have a nape undercut (the bottom of my neck shaved) with a chevron stripe pattern shaved into the shaven part. Instead of having the part shaved like a chevron stripe it was cut straight across - this is NOT what I wanted. And on top of it the "straight line" that is shaven into the back of my head is not straight at all. Then when the pattern was shaved into my neck it was crooked and the shaven parts were not even close to equal. It was a huge commitment to cut my hair like this and I was scared but I had faith that the guy knew what he was doing. When I booked my appointment I soecifically asked for someone who does undercuts. Clearly he does not do undercuts. Worst choice to go here for an undercut... I figured since they were voted "Best Salon 2014" they would know what they were doing.

i have been going to see catlin at mezzanine since i moved to the twin cities three years ago. mezzanine was right down the street from my house and i heard that catlin was a wiz with wavy/curly/unruly hair (like mine). i havent looked back since my first appointment! she does my cuts and color and the results are always perfect. i tend to want something different almost every time i go, but i never have to think too hard about what i want. i go to catlin with a loose idea of what im thinking (or sometimes with nothing at all!) and she tailors it to me. i have since moved to st. paul, and even though its now out of the way, i will continue to go to mezzanine as long as catlin is there.

I have gotten my hair cut at Mezzanine twice by Dean. I have curly hair, and my preferred cut is one that I can wash, throw in some product, and air dry. Over the years, Ive gotten cuts that allow for my low maintenance ways, and Ive had others that are a disaster and result in a frizzy mess. Dean did a great job. This is the lowest maintenance haircut I have ever had. Sometimes I can even sleep on it and still wear it down the next day with next to no effort. It is a little more expensive than I would care for, but is worth it. I will say both times he has been running a little late, but again, still worth it.

First off, I really like the cool artsy vibe. Catlin colored my hair and she did an awesome job! I have to preface this with the fact that I have naturally red hair, which is always tough to color due to the intense red pigment and its stubbornness to lift from the foils. Catlin knew precisely how both low lights and highlights would meld together in my hair and gave me an awesome color. Secondly, she is sweet as can be, listens really well to what you want done, and explains exactly what shell do to make it happen. She even threw in a complementary keratin treatment. Definitely recommend!

I went and saw Dean for a haircut, wanted some length taken off maybe 1"-1 1/2 tops, not 3" and I asked for long layers and side swept bangs I could wear parted left or right, what I got was a shoulder length blunt cut with short-short bangs I have to Bobby pin back or they hit me in my eyes. Im so unhappy, have yet to see if I can get a refund since salon doesnt stand by their stylists. For $50 I expected more than what Great Clips could have given me. I cried the whole way home. Now I have to wait months so I can get it done right. I would give no stars if that was possible.

Awesome environment, the coffee & tea are always hot and delicious, and the products that they sell are all awesome. I have gotten my hair cut & colored by Saumer Kinsey for 2+ years and she is amazing! She is patient, she really listens to what you want and if you want suggestions, shes very creative and does great work. Both my cuts and colors have always been exceptional, and the price is totally on point for this level of service. Totally recommend this place!

Terra was AMAZING. I came in not really knowing what I wanted to do with my hair; I had an idea in mind, but she really helped in making the idea come to life. The color didnt saturate as well as wed hoped at first, so she got me in the very next day to get it to where we wanted it. Awesome girl, super friendly staff, and a beautiful space. I definitely recommend!

Great atmosphere, very pleasant people. This is what Id consider an upscale place, and Im hardly upscale most times Im there for a cut, buy I never feel out of place. Online scheduler is super easy, and their stylists have bios on the site. My stylist charges me via Square, I get an appointment reminder via email... All very smooth.

tracy can reverse any negative vibrations in your life. she works wonders when it comes to the world of hair. never experienced a better bleach and tone. not to mention, shes versatile, she gives me the slickest styles. especially mens hair, never had a more precise fade. <3 do yourself a solid and support this cutie.

FIVE STARS. I have never been one to have a regular stylist, but now I see Tracy Ayers. She is awesome with my hair; I have done the balayage treatment twice with her and I have loved to result. I went lighter and she literally read my mind on the color I wanted. 100% recommend.

Lots of great stylists & barbers to pick from at this salon. Adam Messer is especially proficient, equal to any high-end LA or NYC stylist. Appointments can be made online or by phone and theres lots of on street parking close by.

A fantastic place to get your hair cut. Clean, nice facilities. Professional staff who are very friendly. Put off a haircut for a month while traveling overseas so I could have Carly do it. Well worth the wait.
