This is the most beautiful salon I have ever been in. I called to make a last minute appointment to get in and get some of my grays covered up and a trim before I had a first date. Jim the owner was busy but he ensured me that Kathryn would be able to handle all of my needs. He explained a bit about the training process they use which made me feel great they all were trained the right way and I wasnt just getting some rookie. When I got there the receptionist offered me juice, coffee, tea and water. As I sat down in the chair I realized how open of a space it was, and in particular spotless! The stylist talked with me about everything she saw in my hair and was very very thoughtful and sincere. She walked me over to wash my hair and I have never had such a relaxing head massage in my life!!!!! I could not be more pleased with my haircut, the ease of doing business with Root and how they accommodated me on such short notice and squeezed me in!

I absolutely loved my experience at Root! Aileen colored and cut my hair and I adore it! She was so knowledgeable and fun and chatty and was just fantastic! She also showed me how to get a beachy wave using a curling iron like a curling wand. She was just awesome! The salon is in a cute neighborhood in Linden Hills, near Lake Harriet. The salon itself is light and airy; modern without trying too hard. Its kind of trendy but not snooty about it! Theyre super nice and friendly! (Not always the case with many salons). The things i look for in a salon are: price, great website, bookable online,stylists pictures, bios, and cost posted on their site, and a great atmosphere. Root has all of that! Theyre not too pushy with their product suggestions, I never felt like I was being rushed through, and everyone was having a great time. Id highly recommend this salon!

I never write reviews and I felt the need to warn others I get my hair done all the time and this by far was one of the worst places iv gotten it done... My stylist was an idiot had no idea what she was doing and wrecked my hair and another thing its I called to see if they died human hair extensions they said yes and I brought them in and my stylist was like um I had no idea....she def needed to go to hair school and when I called to complain they pretty much said good luck and wait till it washes out... Im looking out for you guys when I say this cause I literally wouldnt want my worse enemy to go through this.

Always a pleasure at this place. It is clean, bright, and the service is incredible. Parking is easy as well, which is a plus in this area! They have a designated lot for customers, so I never have anxiety about finding a spot. I continually leave feeling listened to, pampered, and beautiful. Kristine always takes extra care of my hair, and its shows! Her blowouts are the BEST Ive ever had in the cities. Her work is complete magic. Root does an exceptional job being innovative and creative with my hair while remaining true to what I come in wanting. I could not recommend their services more!

Great Staff - I always get a warm greeting when I come here. The receptionists remember me and are friendly. My stylist is great, and always takes her time with my hair and does a great job. Great Environment - Bright, clean, trendy looking salon. Root Salon in Minneapolis has a positive, relaxing feel to it. Great Location - they have designated parking spots, so parking isnt a problem. Great Value - You get what you pay for! Ive always left feeling good about my hair and my experience.

Jim has been cutting my hair at Root for about 6 months. The first time he spent a lot of time hearing about what I wanted, how much time I wanted to spend every day doing my hair, and really listened carefully. I love my hair cut, love the salon, and have never had a bad experience. The space is lovely and unpretentious, functional, and peaceful.
