My husband and I worked with Angela Moore. We explained that we would be moving a 3 bedroom home into another 3 bedroom home, and requested prices on a full 4 bedroom, because we have so much to be moved. Angela told us the computer estimated it would take no more than 4 hours. Knowing we had thoroughly explained how much was in the home, we trusted adequate help would be provided. We booked a 2-4pm slot. Two gentlemen arrived and began moving at 4:45PM. They did not have dollies. They were informed that it would be a small 2 man job. Upon arrival, the movers called the office and explained that they needed at least 1 more person to help move because of the quantity to be moved. The office refused to send them any additional help, yet sent 2 movers to drop off 2 dollies. After dropping them off, they left the original 2 movers to finish the moving alone. The two gentlemen who did the moving, Leon and Mike (MJ), were phenomenal. Even though they were shorthanded, they made every effort to get done as quickly as possible--often running with boxes in hand. Even with their extreme effort to work as quickly and efficiently as possible, they didnt arrive at the new home until 10:30PM. My husband and I both assisted in unpacking the truck, and we were still unpacking by midnight. The move wasnt finished until 1 a.m.; even with 4 people doing the job unpacking, what we were quoted as a 4 hour move had turned into an 8hr move. We understand a quote isnt spot on, however, the quote was not off by an hour, or even two hours. The quote was off by double the quoted time! Also, the 4:45PM arrival time was chosen because of the quoted hours. My husband gets up at 4:15AM for work, so not only was the quoted time grossly miscalculated, but with the move lasting until 1AM he only got 3 hours of sleep before he had to get up for work. The movers explained that typically a move of that size would have 3 guys(why they requested an extra), that the dollies had been removed from there truck unbeknownst to them(why they didnt have them to start with) and also said that there was a crew available to start our move an hour earlier than they were but the office chose not to send them. They also called to inform us that the company told them they were not going to be paid for the move because we were disputing it. That is illegal. The invoice for the move upon the completion was intentionally not signed because my husband wanted to speak with Angela the following day and try to work out some sort of credit back for an hour or two before deciding on a final price. Moovers ran the card anyway, despite there being no signature on the receipt/invoice. All of this inconvenience was explained to Angela the following day. She took no accountability for any of the troubles with the move(no dollies, drastically misquoted price, refusal to send extra help, etc...) and wouldnt even entertain any sort of discount. She completely dismissed any notion that her "2-man- 4 hour move" was absolutely impossible for what the quantity demanded. If you want an easy or honest process, do not work with Angela Moore. Do not work with the Moovers. It is so far from the "easy", "convenient" experience they imply.

I called Moovers and talked with Taylor(great guy) and we went over what items we had and that we had 2 separate stops across KC--short term living and storage. He gave me a tentative quote and told me to give an update when we were closer to the move because it always changes--he was so right there. Taylor told us our crew would be at our place between 7-9am. They called at 7:15 telling us they would be there in a half hour, which they were. We had 3 movers come who had collectively worked for the company for over 25 years(Moovers does not contract bodies, rather have experienced staff year-round). Each one was very polite, and courteous not only to us, but our belongings. I might as well mention these guys were STRONG. We had a disassembled pool table that had 3 granite slabs each weighing over 250lbs which the guys picked up by themselves, brought up from the basement and carried it them like you would carrying newborn kittens. They were very careful to our furniture and to our house. They first loaded our 3 stories of house, we moved to our 2 storage units where they were able to fit EVERYTHING in those units, carefully, not breaking anything fragile and also making sure what we need most stayed to the front of the unit. I would call them the kings of Tetris how they were able to pack most of our house in 2 6X8X9 rooms. Our next stop was to our short term housing where again, they were very careful with our belongings--and to the rental. Summer has made its ugly return with temperatures in the 90s and it was humid. Again, the guys did not rush but took care of our stuff. They did not overcharge us, break or scratch anything we had. I am so thankful for such a wonderful crew. From start to finish they are gentlemen who are strong enough pick up the most awkward heavy item you have, but gentle enough to keep it safe. We are moving our stuff(yet again) in 3 weeks and are about to hire Moovers again because it really was the best money we have ever spent. I highly recommend Moovers to anyone who wants a quality job done by very courteous men who care about the quality of their work. We will be moving with them again (very shortly). I chose Moovers because they had the highest ratings...and its not hard to see why. Thanks guys!!!!

I was impressed with the first phone call I had with Julie. She seemed friendly and helpful. This would be the end of the good experience with Moovers. One of the first questions asked was how we heard about Moovers.. to which I answered we had a coupon from ValPak. This was the reason we went with Moovers over a few other places we called, and ultimately, we were deceived into not being able to use it. SO. The window the movers were scheduled was 12-4. They showed up just before 4. Okay, I get the window of time, not a huge deal. The movers themselves were nice. But they were overscheduled. They were exhausted and complained that they needed more help. They ended up having to make two trips, blaming the playset in the backyard (which Julie had asked if it could be unassembled with regular tools, but they didnt do that).... i took several car loads myself and there are still several car loads of stuff left at my house which I now have to find time to transport while working 12 hours a day. They also took a door off and didnt put it back on, and left random stuff on the side of our house and tossed stuff in the garage, instead of where it goes. Once they unloaded the second load, 7 hours later, the cost was $940 plus tips and dinner for the 3 movers. A far cry from the quote, which was less than $500. To top it off, they wouldnt accept my coupon for 20% off, because I didnt schedule a fixed-rate move..... which I was never made aware that was an option. I told Julie twice I had that coupon, once on the phone, and once in a follow-up email (which of course I never heard back). Its in the fine print of course. Again. The guys who moved us were nice. I think they were too tired to be as efficient as they could have been. Customer service is lacking and deceives people to get customers. $1000 later, I unfortunately wont be recommending Moovers to anyone, and being in the customer service industry, I come into contact with over 600 people a week. EDIT: I have now learned that when I was not present, one of the movers said to my mom "most movers would have quit on you by now." This is unacceptable customer service and hes lucky I wasnt there to hear it.
