When Daniel (owner) came to give me an estimate, I was very impressed with his knowledge and explanation of everything involved in installation of tankless water heater and water softener. He answered all my questions, provided more information about things I didnt even think about. Online reviews confirmed my first impression. While not the cheapest, Ive decided to give him the contract to install those devices. And thats where things started to fall apart 1. What was supposed to be one day job, left me without hot water overnight. Next morning when nobody showed up, Ive called the office and they told me that theyll need to order parts and reschedule the rest of install for later. Not happy with the prospect of being without hot water (they replaced a working water heater), Ive asked to have someone come back and the same day and either finish install or bring back my old water heater. Contractor showed up and finished install. 2. They missed gas regulator and connected water heater to gas line without one initially. When I pointed it out, they brought wrong kind of regulator (thankfully water heater detected wrong gas pressure and refused to work) - third time is the charm, we got the right one and hot water started flowing. 3. Having so many problems Ive decided to check gas lines for leaks - there were 2. He came next day to fix them, only to find another one after he left. Once it was fixed, another one popped up. Third time he finally fixed all gas leaks. 4. Im not sure if theyre licensed plumbers, they dont seem to grasp idea of an air gap. First they stuck water softener hoses into the drain, then brought a cap that fastens the hose directly to drain with 1/4" clearance - I gave up - Ive installed it the correct way myself 5. Other issues - burned sump pump pvc pipe that was close to installation area - cut out 2/3 of the floor joist without providing another reinforcement - installed pipes so close to each other that they bang when you turn water on and off - didnt caulk the holes they made for gas pipe (after fixing gas leaks) - burned holes in one of my old chairs (they used as step stool) - left area with solder all over the floor So after so many issues, why 2 stars? While the experience leaves a lot to wish for, they did install the water heater and water softener and they work, so now Im enjoying soft hot water. Update: owners response shows that this kind of experience is not the normal nor expected for the company +1 star Update 2: owner deleted his response -1 star

This company is horrible. We have been forced to use them several times because of our home protection plan and they have tried to screw us over every single time. The first was with our water heater. When AHS sent out a second company to give us a second opinion they called AHS on speaker phone and AHS told him that Budget called them back after leaving my house and changed his report (and lied) so that our water claim would get denied. Our water heater did end up getting replaced with the second company and they told us that Budget is a horrible company and they have to go in and clean up their messes all the time. He said they like to get the insurance company to deny the claim and then tell the homeowner that really they should just replace the item... that way they are getting paid by the insurance company for the service call and maintenance and also the customer, which is exactly what they tried to do with us. Last week AHS sent Budget out to work on our AC unit and the guy told me it was unsafe to turn on my furnace and I should buy a maintenance package from him and they would clean it, etc. if not just outright replace it. I asked him why on earth would clean it (and especially replace it on my own) when I have a home protection plan. He strongly warned me that I should not call Laclede Gas company because they dont always know what theyre doing and I really need to just have them take care of it for them. The entire time he was at my house he was trying to sell me either their maintenance package, duct work cleaning, or telling me that I should just outright buy a new furnace from them. He also said there was no way AHS would replace my unit, hes never seen it done, and "you have to word it just right to them on the phone". Long story short, Laclede Gas red tagged us this morning, AHS sent out a reputable company this afternoon, and we will be getting a new furnace in a few days. Both second opinion companies (for our water heater and our furnace) said that they regularly see Budget screw over their customers and lie to the home protection plan company so that the claim is denied. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! They intentionally screw over the customer, they lie about the equipment theyre servicing in your home, they purposely word things so that the claim will be denied. All in all, theyre a slimy company who cannot be trusted.

A little background. I moved into my house in October of 2016 so this is the first cooling season Ive been through with this house. I had an appointment that was made through my home warranty company. My AC was constantly running. 16-17 hours a day (not on the 100 degree days but and never reaching the set temperature on the thermostat. Budget came out and the tech inspected the inside and outside unit. He said the outside unit was a little dirty and he hosed it off. Other than that he said everything looked great. Next day it ran again for 16 hours. Problem not solved. I changed my filter last month but figured I change it again. I pulled the old filter out and looked inside to locate the fan to make sure I had it in correctly. Low and behold theres an old filter that was pressed up again the blower. This filter has been in there since Ive moved in. Its not a filter I put in and I didnt know it was in there. I would think that the HVAC tech would have inspected the blower and found the dirty air filter. Now fast forward a couple days later. I had put in a return call because I found the dirty filter. A salesman reruned my call. He wanted to set up a time to come out to my house to address cooling down the hot second level. Reluctantly I agreed. Now I sit here 50 minutes after my scheduled appointment time and hes a no show. So the other things that I could be doing have now been postponed for no reason. Feel free to use Budget if you want. But I for one will not based on my first two interactions. **UPDATE** The salesman who I had a 4:00 oclock appointment with called at 6:00 oclock. He said (as he was laughing with someone before he heard me say hello) he said "Hey I know we has an appointment today. Are you still available?" Obviously I told him no because if you cant commit to a scheduled appointment with a customer for a sales pitch why would I even consider using your company for a major purchase. He didnt even seem like he cared at all. Great salesman Budget Heating and Cooling. Great salesman. I must say my satisfaction with your company continued to go down hill every step of the way which is why I lowered my rating to one star.
