I have bought two used Chevrolet Suburbans in the last 12-months from Billion. Neither were detailed well, nor did Billion stand by their work when formally confronted- both on the detail and other numerous items defined by me (buyer) in a pre-sale requirement. After the first Suburban I wrote a letter to the owner in action to their standard How did we do post-sale form letter (stamped with owners name). I never got a response addressing my complaints, or even acknowledgement of receipt of complaint. Against all common sense, and only because I liked my original salesman, I purchased another used Suburban in June of 2014. Very similar pre-sale and post-sale issues to first experience, and equal lack of action by General Manager when I phrased formal complaints to both my salesman and sales manager. The GM offered to take the car back, but did not offer to actually address, and remedy, the problems in an effort to make the vehicle right- and what was agreed upon. When further issues developed with this vehicle (dealership agreed to fix cracked side mirror- didnt, agreed to replace a missing factory metal clip holding up the break line- they used a small zip-tie, to provide a second set of keys- took them 5-days and they provided a non-working key-fob, to deliver a missing third row seat- which they did but it was filthy, and the list goes on and on) I continued conversations with the GM. He offered again to take back the car, but again, never once offered to fix these simple problems and make it right. He did state that he would review the recordings of the over-the-phone pre-sale negotiations I had with the sales manager checking for accuracies, and that he would get back to me. It has now been over 2-weeks since this conversation and he has yet to respond. I would also like to note that at no point was I told that my phone conversation was being recorded. In a later conversation, the GM did state that after this second bad experience, we really should not do business together again. Then later in the conversation he stated that if I buy another car from Billion, he will waive the detailing fee. It would have cost Billion maybe $200 to fix these issues, which would be an action standing to the value of their reputation and their name (which was plastered all over this car, even when I specifically asked them to take all of their decals off). However, they chose to NOT do the right thing- and to stand by the agreement we made and the quality of their performance. My two used car purchases from Billion (now totaling $50,000) were very similar to the experience of buying from a private party, except for the fact that I paid a 15% dealer premium. In conclusion, my experiences with Billion have cost me roughly $7,500 over private party value and all I got for this was some dealer window decals, multiple headaches, and a bunch of wasted time dealing with this situation. I still do not have a working key fob nearly 30-days after the sale, and my engine oil light has come on even though Billion supposedly changed the oil upon the sale, and my salesman hasnt returned two of my voicemails. Oh- by the way, I had my regular (trusted) mechanics due a full inspection of this vehicle for my own piece of mind two days after I bought it and my total bill for things that needed to be replaced/ repaired was just over $1,200.

Every single experience Ive had with Billion has been negative. I will never set foot in this place again. Quick summary because I dont want to waste another minute on this place, but Id like people to know what they may be getting… 1. Looking to buy a brand new truck nearing $50k in price. Salesmen were not helpful in coming to any kind of reasonable deal on a truck meeting my needs. I went to a RAM dealer in another city and paid $2k less than Billion offered. 2. Called about a minor replacement part needed. Got a price for the part itself, but was told Id get a call back with the full cost including install. Never heard back. 3. Walked in a couple years later to the RAM building. The place was empty except for a guy in an office. Waited there several minutes, no one came out. Finally knocked on the office door and asked if he was part of the sales team… he was the SALES MANAGER! Nice service. 4. I met with them about buying back my truck. Their offer was beyond ridiculous. It was $4k below KBB trade-in value. The next day I went to a non-RAM dealer in town and sold them the truck for $3,500 more than the Billion offer. What a joke. Beyond those examples, I just never feel like I can believe anything theyre saying to me. Every experience Ive had is that they are the kind of car dealer that gives car dealers a bad name. I will NEVER set foot there again. If I ever want to buy one of their brands, I will drive hours out of town to buy somewhere else. Im honestly shocked to see so many good reviews, when my experiences have been so consistently negative. Something to keep in mind as well… every example above was followed by a far better experience with other dealerships. Its not like I was being unreasonable about any of it. Every time, Billion is unpleasant and fails, another dealership is pleasant and we do business. At this point, at least for me, theres a clear trend.

My car experienced trouble while traveling back to ND for work this summer. I had AAA tow the car back home to Bozeman and was recommended Billion Auto Group. I told the service center that I had a bad serpentine fan belt and tension pulley. After their 79$ "inspection" they came back and told me that I had a completely failed water pump. They quoted the repairs at 980$. That is a 200% mark up on any other mechanic in town. That is if I had a bad water pump... I had the repairs performed at another mechanic (B&L) for 200$ parts and labor. I have so far put 4000 more miles on my "faulty" water pump. That raises serious questions. Were they trying to scam me because I needed to get back on the road, or was this incompetence? Also, if they charge 79$ to incorrectly diagnose my vehicle, could I trust that they would not have replaced the working part anyways? I called to inform the staff of what happened and I was assured that this is not the type of practice they partake in. I have a service quote that strongly suggest otherwise. I left Billion Auto Group with a very bad taste in my mouth and would not recommend for anyone to have their car serviced here if it was not under warranty.

I took my vehicle in for some repairs that costed over $3000, which naturally youre going to pay since everyone over there seems professional and knowledgable. Couple months later the same repairs that were done failed which if they were fixed properly the first time shouldnt have. When asked what could be done, their only response was "if you bring it in, we will work on it and only charge you $2500 for us to repair the repairs we already did". Theres no guarantee on their work, and they dont fully inspect every component that is directly related to the function of the part they are fixing, which in turn means youll be going in in a month or so to get the whole original repair redone. Mechanics over there have this mentality, "Bob Im going to say we need to fix this, but in the end Ill leave the most important component out, so it will all fail thus they have to come back in and get it fixed all over, because guess what we didnt work on that part".
