The staff was extremely unfriendly and not very helpful at all. Instead of trying to help you reach a solution, theyll start asking you for unnecessary legal documents that will take around 2 weeks to obtain, beyond the level of what is required to proceed with a memorial. All to "prove" to them who you are. We were from out-of-state, so we werent really familiar with NVs funeral laws or the necessary steps. Even though we were the surviving immediate family members and brought the supporting documentation, the staff rudely told us to go to a NV Justices office and bring back a copy of a formal ex parte. Obviously we didnt have the time to wait 2 weeks in a foreign state, so we went to a different cremation services provider and signed a release, which allowed us to quickly & smoothly proceed with the subsequent steps of the memorial. Overall, it was an extremely horrible experience, especially considering we were already devastated from the loss of a family member. If you were considering a few mortuaries, I would strongly recommend not going with Hites.

In June, my grandfather became ill and without warning began to slip away from us. In a short time he was transferred to Hospice and we werent at all prepared for his passing at all. I called Steven Poscente for help. He met us at the Hospice facility and sat with us as long as we needed him to gently and lovingly explaining all the details of what we needed. Before he left he gave us the information for what our next steps would be. When my grandfather passed a short time later, Hites was ready for him and Steven was just a phone call away. Blanca helped us with the cremation and all the minor details that were needed and she was so efficient we only had to show up and sign. Steven, Blanca and all of Hites made us feel as though we were their only family and handled everything beautifully so all we had to do was grieve the loss of our sweet husband/father/grandfather. Thanks Steven, Blanca and Hites for loving us in our difficult moments!

Hites is amazing. I called on a Saturday of a holiday weekend and requested cremation services ASAP as I was in a time constraint because family was in town for a short time. Tom Cropps wife took the call and told me she would have a director call me. Within 20 minutes Tom called from a party with his children and set up an appointment with us on Monday, which was Labor Day. We had all the arrangements made and we received my fathers remains on the next Friday for a Saturday memorial. Not only are the staff amazing, friendly, funny (even considering the circumstances) and beyond helpful...But they are also willing to go out of their way to help even when the larger funeral homes were not going to be able to even sit with us to talk about arrangements until the Wednesday after the holiday. Their prices are also the best around. I will HIGHLY recommend Hites to any and all who find themselves in our situation. Thanks so much Tom and everyone!!!

In our time of need, Hites funeral home was there for are family. Tom Cropp is excellent. He knows the business of getting your lost loved one the care and attention required. He even helped us with our Grandmothers insurance transactions and took the time to call for anything we needed. Tom Cropp is a clergyman and is now considered an extended part of our family. Through this great experience, my two Aunts want Mr. Cropp to assist with their insurance and funeral arrangements. Some families find that their loved ones funeral cost are not all covered. This really puts extra grief on a family whos already grieving. Its best to know that everything is paid and taken care of so that the families of the lost loved one, do not have any unforseen cost. DO NOT let the strip mall location let you think that this funeral parlor is anything less than fantastic for burial needs! We used this service for my sisters ceremony last week and Tom Cropp saw us through everything we needed: which urn would be best for our purposes/expedited the service in all ways to accomodate out of state family/memory cards and putting us in touch with a service celebrant (Cari) who met with us the day before our service and discussed what we wanted for my sister. She was joyful and she made us feel like she really wanted to get to know us and what my sister was like to celebrate her to the fullest in the service. Her sermon was heartfelt and on point from all that we gave her to say. I would highly recommend using this service....5 stars *****

Many years ago, my mother and I moves a friend from Tacoma Washington. She lives in a Group Home locally for about 3-4 years. When she passed away, we chose Hites as Ms. Jean had paid a personal visit to our home prior to us bringing Ira to town. The visit was in reference to an organization that we were affiliated with and she was so kind and helpful. When our friend passed away, that same courtesy was extended to us. The kindness and caring stretched across everyone at Hites that we came in contact with. I work in Healthcare and when I can, I tell people who have no knowledge of local Funeral Homes about Hites. After all these years, I am still grateful for all they did to assist us during our time of need.

Horrible service!! So far waiting 6 weeks for death certificates. The place is unprofessional in appearance, decor and attitude. They promote that they can take care of your needs in your time of need. We are from out of state, it would have been quicker to fly back and get the needed documents then pay the high fees and wait for months. I would not recommend this place for any service. The problem is they have a contract with the city so they get most of y The calls if no one is there for other arrangements. Way to kick a family when they are at their lowest.

I cant thank you enough for the compassion and professionalism that you all displayed in taking care of my friend W.S. Clarks funeral. You all made Mrs. Clarks burden much lighter. I overheard one guest say that it was the best service hed ever been at. Compassion, prayer,song, laughter and respect pleased Mrs. Clark very much. This funeral home is making an extremely difficult situation even harder to bare. They have set up so much red tape to keep me from obtaining my brothers body, to line their pockets with cash. Their front desk employee Chelsea Castle was especially indifferent and lacked any sort of empathy. Mrs. Castle refused to give me her name or her supervisors name so I could report her. I will be writing a letter to the Better Business Bureau
